Looks great...wish we could hear it run...I love Beethoven and his piano sonatas are a staple in my shop, but the best part of any engine is hearing it run. Thanks.
Fantastic! I propose a solonoid driven electric motorcyle next. Say a 5 cilinder radial mounted within each wheel. That would make it a 10-cyclinder. The frame can then be used for all batteries etc.. Oh, and it must be able to do 100 miles/h, have a minimum range of 150 miles and cost below US$ 5.000. Delivery time 14 days. Now get on with it and make it happen!
Wow that is gorgeous... even if it is just an electric motor... Still the design could be adapted to steam or even a gas engine...very well done sir!.. this would be great on an electric motorbike.. thanks for sharing you gave me a few good ideas ...
I love the matt finish sand blasting gave it... Its great to see crude parts turned into beautifully machined parts... you have great aesthetics....Cheers and thanks again for sharing
Thank you, this movie drew attention to the vibration produced by motor solenoid . Min 3:28 strong vibration = motor solenoid (V-twin) is an electric motor and generator, brushless, continuous current including low tension and high curent , and AC, which produces probably the most powerful vibrations for an electric engine , unhealthy for the human body . Better Radial solenoid engine
Awesome frabrication , looks beautiful! did you mesure how much power it put out ? i know its the less efficien way to make a electric motor , but wondering if on a bigger scale with lubing system and longer stroke it could be used to power e-bike or something
Excellent engineering. Having said that, this can be nothing more than a kinetic sculpture, i.e. no real practical applications due to the horrendous inefficiencies... 😉
If he has a way to take back the coil energy (easy with simple electronics), this motor does not have a serious reason to be less efficient than a traditional electric motor.
Well done, great job indeed! Does this thing can power my bicycle when i have to pedal up to the wind. And can you tell me, how many watts or kilowatts that size of specimen can do? And else- I have dream that every piston and cylinder of each car have been replaced with the solenoid. What do you think about it?
Thanks for the compliments! As for powering your bike, this motor would not power it well at all. This is a very inefficient way to convert electrical energy to rotational energy, much better with a conventional DC motor, but, electric car motors would at least look cool if this was efficient!
Standard microswitches available anywhere (check ebay) with aluminium rods through the standard mounting holes and epoxied to small brackets for bolting to heads.
I made this up as I went along with just the sketch seen at the beginning. Most dimensions are set by what bearings you use and what solenoids you get. Understanding what I wanted at the end and what materials I had to use dictated how it turned out. You need to be reasonably competent with machine tools to tackle this. Not real good with plans myself....
rob taylor P.S. most solenoids have an advertised 10mm stroke but can easily handle being used at 20 or 25mm. Go for about 1kg@10mm and 12v. metal encased. (about $20 on ebay)
Hello sir. we're currently in the sixth grade mechanics and we're searching for a project to make with our class. The solonoid motor really inspires us! Would you be willing to send me some plans you drawed while making the project or soms drawings from inventor or autocad or etc ?And if you don't have any plans could you make another video how the crank shaft and the connecting rod works cause in the video i can't see it proparly and i don't see how the other solonoid is powerd cause you only make 1 connecting rod. On the first sketch i saw you had some measurements could you take a picture of that so we know where to begin with. It would be a great help because we can't find plans anywhere. Thanks in advance!
excelente si yo necesito mover 2 kilos con el solenoide cuantas vueltas y de cuantos milímetros tendría que ser el alambre de cobre para mi bobina. que corriente utilizaría? gracias señor
I've been wanting to build one of these but I'm a bit confused. It seems to me that with the push rod set up, the engine fires at 75 and 105 degrees (assuming the cylinders are at a 30 degree angle from each other). Is this so, or is there something I'm missing? Wouldn't this create a lot of rocking action or is this not a problem with a flywheel?
Going from rotary motor to reciprocating electric engine is an interesting but backward step. Rotary engines are more compact and powerful than reciprocating ones because they have no reversing parts. Remember the Wankel rotary engine? Reversing motion is a waste of energy and causes vibration, noise and limits the speed. Reciprocating compressors and pumps are being replaced with rotary ones because they are lighter and more efficient.
+Odouls77 Open the hood of your Mazda, and compare what you see to a Brough Superior S1100 V-Twin, or any Harley V-Twin, to the ugly crap that under your hood! If you cannot see the difference in the elegance and even "beauty" of the V-Twin and the elegance of this creation, then as Wittgenstein said, "the conversation is at an end." If you don't know what a Brough is, go watch the first 10 minutes of "Lawrence of Arabia" again... inspiring work!!! Now can you get this thing to do some work? even if it is to push a sewing machine needle around, or grind my morning espresso?
"Kitchen table recommended for single men only" though I'm 18 and of course, not married yet, I understand what you mean XD It's true though XP I enjoyed watching this! :)
Absolutely brilliant but loose the music ... its horrible. It would be great if you could talk us through the project since the music, in simple terms does not explain your endevours. :-)
One of the nicest solenoid engines I've ever seen on UA-cam.
Beautiful end result!! And what a pleasure to listen to some wonderful music as well!! Great video!
If I only could have your skills.....The things I would fill my house with....Great video, keep up the good work.
Looks great...wish we could hear it run...I love Beethoven and his piano sonatas are a staple in my shop, but the best part of any engine is hearing it run. Thanks.
Wow - that's a LOT of machining, great work!

ویدیوها عالی هستند و اموزنده تشکر از همه ی دست اندرکاران این سیستم زیبا و احسن یونیوپ و همه ی دیگر
What a great job! Pure eye candy and such a smooth runner!
Very creative. I just made a 4 cylinder motor but I used Hall sensors for the drive controller. Thanks for sharing.
An awesome piece - it's a work of art. Congratulations!
Thank you.
Excellent workmanship, and a novel design
Now that sir, is a work of art ! respect.
Wow that is gorgeous... even if it is just an electric motor... Still the design could be adapted to steam or even a gas engine...very well done sir!.. this would be great on an electric motorbike.. thanks for sharing you gave me a few good ideas ...
Thank you. This type of motor could never be as efficient as a purely rotating electric motor but it does look the part!
I love the matt finish sand blasting gave it...
Its great to see crude parts turned into beautifully machined parts...
you have great aesthetics....Cheers and thanks again for sharing
This could be the salutations to motor bike transportation. Solenoid motorbike engines.
So we've seen simpler ones but this is the sweetest looking for sure.
Thanks for sharing your build man, beautiful work my boi.
Beautiful work
Thanks, it gets easier with practise, practise, practise....
Great attention to detail.
Very good job.
Thanks Brother! You should make a v-twin yourself, very satisfying!
wow what a beautiful piece of art.
Thank you, this movie drew attention to the vibration produced by motor solenoid .

are you on crack?
Did you have a stroke when writing this?
oh man, what a beautiful device! thank you for sharing!
..pleasure...!
nice office desk piece!
Wow,,, you got too much talent, time, ambition, and money.. Good job...
Where is the governor? How much power? , RPMs, Torque?
Wow wow wow wow
High quality stuff, keep up the good work!
Faisal Almalki I'll try to and cheers!
Well worth watching, very good work.
That's amazing. Great work. Innovative
I like your final background
Great engine build & video.
Cheers.
I´d love to see it mounted in and propelling an old-style Indian or HD frame, with a sidecar in the Steibe tradition...
.....another project...maybe?....
It would be magnificent : )
Very nice job. Thanks for taking the time & effort to show us!!!!
utter beauty!!....well done for something amazing
Thanks. I think the 45 degree V-twin is an inherently beautiful design.
I liked your efforts . Keep it up 👍👍
beautiful machine, congratulations
A masterpiece, Excellent work !! But I gotta tell ya, Endmilling in a drill chuck is a sure way to ruin your chuck.. But it works. LOL !!
ThomasTheSailor Chubby Chuck destroyer extrordinaire ! I never learn, one day I'll get the full collet setup... one day...
rob taylor
LOL !! Have fun, it's only a chuck.. It was well worth it..
Looks already more advanced than a Harley engine.
I love this motor! great job
cheers.
fantastic job. wow. Thanks for sharing
Great Job this looks amazing
wonderfull work, what's the power output load

maybe you should read the video description just below the video screen....just a thought
This is ideal for a hit and miss governor (operating a microswitch)
How much power and torque it produces? How much amps it draws? How efficient is it? Can u show us its internal structure ?
Very nice. Good job. Well done.
Cheers!
Caraca como é fantástico esse projeto!!!!
That's neat. You should put some blueprints of it in the video. Also you should make a V-8 version. And 1 question, what was the power source.
12 volt DC (battery or power supply),as for a V8, too much time and materials for something of no practical use I'm afraid!
Yes, I do see your point, I do think it would be neat though.
cool video! cool engine! I would love to hear it, if you have time could you upload without music?
Thanks sir for share this video ....can you tell us internal structure of it and can we use magnet here ..
just extraordinary !

exelent choice of theme song....bravo.....makes the boring ol' motor .....sing.
im wondering if its possible to turn an existing motor into a solenoid motor like a lawn mower motor
Another look. Very very nice. What kind of switches did you use? Where can such be found?
Standard microswitches available anywhere (check ebay) with aluminium rods through the standard mounting holes and epoxied to small brackets for bolting to heads.
Amigo entendi todo el video lo que me pregunto es el enbobinado como lo fabricante
This is really cool and i really want to make my own but i don't have any plans or something like that... Could you help me out???

Very impressive!
Will you share the plans for us
Is it possible to convert a Harley Davidson, say Evo engine to a spolenoid engine? That’s a video i would like to see.

Really Good Job... Hats Off to your work! _/\_
Thanks.
is this kind of engine better then a regular e- engine (more power or something) or is it just a toy?
Just a toy!
That is very nice. Congratulations :))

You've missed the point of this excersise. Please read my other comments

Which one of them use a solenoid engine?
the point is not the solenoid, it is the Aesthetics of the VTwin...
What kind of solenoids does this use?
i would like to buy one
Can I see the blue print please ??
how do you modulate the speed?
hello , do you have some plans for this engine ?
good job !
amigo muito bom trabalho!
aplausos!
Awesome! thanks
Fantastic!
hey, could i possibly get a build kit?
how much efficiency ?and RPM tell me plz sr
So awesome! You should manke an v8 or v12 ;)

Can i buy it?
Superb!
Hello can I see this engine on paper ?
How powerful is it?
very low power, for demonstration only unfortunately...
How much voltage
12v
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW I LIKE THIS
this is beatifull. electric win :D
"Kitchen table recommended for single men only" though I'm 18 and of course, not married yet, I understand what you mean XD It's true though XP
I enjoyed watching this! :)
muito bom .....
damn all that with iphone 4s? srsly? dyammmmm
btw nice build wish i had a metal workshop ;'c
great! ,❤️
nice
Time to fire up the 3D printer :)
Great now make a V8
And if your feeling nice put it in a car
sweet :)
as ;}
Build it full-scale and I'll install it on my Fatboy :)
много лишних механических деталей ... Будет проще, если взамен контактной системы, использовать мощные оптроны.
good night friend please I need to communicate with you I loved your engine very much I am interested
Absolutely brilliant but loose the music ... its horrible. It would be great if you could talk us through the project since the music, in simple terms does not explain your endevours. :-)
