My TM38 is 2 years old, I put a Enduro light kit on it & drive it on the RD. Geared up does 71mph . I love it! I just recommend buying the oil filters instead of the screen. 30hp it's peppy!
Glad you made this video, numerous GPX guys had the fuel relay and fuse problems. Some started carrying spares. Seems like the carb'd version may be better but they also have issues with running on a dead battery....they won't. If I get another 300 it'll be changed to an a/c CDI and stator so it will run without a battery if needed.
awesome video and information.i have a tm 38e too . i woods ride mine got to kept the revs up like a two stroke in the tight woods ,ring its neck. the forks are weak but im heavy now. check the head temp sensor by pulling the tank up , the tank will rub against the wires and break them i have to move the sensor. the brakes are awesome, i give mine hell kinda fast i kinda love mine. lol
Thanks ! I need to look I got that sensor and the spark plug . I want to love mine. I feel like mine is getting worse. Hopefully this will help get it back right.
Hello, did the bike start stuttering and cutting out, then just shut off? Mine runs fine while you are moving fast but when you get to slow technical riding and the fan starts coming on it starts stuttering real bad and then dies.
I need to look into the fan thing. For me it seems like when I’m on the gas a close the throttle or even blip the throttle it will cut out and go dead sometimes. I’ve reached out to motobuys and they have stopped responding. I think mine is lean. The next thing I’ll try after I look into the fan is a EFI tuner.
@@RidinWithD-cv5hu I really don't think the fan has anything to do with it, it is just the heat of the motor is breaking something down. I have replaced everything on the bike except TPS and fuel pump relay, still does it. As long as your running down the road at a good pace with wind blowing over motor, its fine. Just when you slow down and start the technical riding it builds up heat and starts.
I will soon buy a tm36 model, do you know anything about that engine? Can it last for a while? I will maintain it as much as all my motorcycles so far...
I think the engine overall is good and will last if maintained. My problem is the efi system now motobuys is ghosting me about the problem. The carb model would be better because you can make the needed changes to the air fuel mix. The engine seems well made.
I was hopeing the EFI model would be the way to go. Now I wish it was the carb model. Yeah the shipping was a semi but not a full size and it had a lift gate.
I ended up getting the Trailmaster T5 which is a new dual sport model for '24. It was only $1699 and it's been a decent dual sport bike, 223cc carbureted. Had it about 4 months and no issues yet. However, it is geared too low for road use even though it comes street legal. So I sent the original rear sprocket to sprocket specialists in Utah to have them build me a new one with a lot fewer teeth to gear it up. So far though, for the very cheap price it's a good bike. Not as good as a Japanese bike but not horrible either.
@ also the E models don’t normally come with the blinkers and tail lights. That’s probably why they can’t modify the MCO so you can street legalize it. Only the “EX” model comes street legal.
I mislabeled I do have the EX model according to the MCO I have anyways. I am working on a way to get it street legal in my state. Hopefully it will go through.
IF there is not a tuner for this bike...unfortunately ill have to look into my other two Chinese options. Orion RXB or a GXP FSE. Have you rode either of those two?
No but I would like too. One thing I have found so far is that they are all mostly the same as far as engine etc. But I’m going to look into seeing if i can get this bike to run better. It’s just a shame that I have to go through that trouble. There is a xpro 300cc that they state they will fully assembled and test for cheaper than the Trailmaster.
I wasn’t able to get a tag for it in Georgia. There are other ways from what I read such as a Montana LLC. But for Georgia it has to be in the NHTS website and a motorcycle created for road use . That’s what the rage office stated to me anyways.

30hp is a good amount. Is yours the carb or fuel injection version?
@RidinWithD-cv5hu carb model

That’s a good idea. I didn’t know that about the carb version.

also mine is very cold natured. Maybe cause of the temp sensor under the tank . its a bad design.

What a sad ending 😢
Yes it was .
I wonder if you can get a slightly richer injector
That’s a good idea. I’ll probably look into that.

@ tnx bro ! what do you think it's like for tall drivers? 193cm/101kg
Sounds like the carb model would be the one to get. How was the shipping? Did they deliver it with a semi?

@RidinWithD-cv5hu yeah atleast with the carb you can swap needles and jets or a new carb, Chinese efi you're basically in the dark.
How did you get a kick starter? I don’t see them advertised with a kick starter online????
I wonder if something has changed with the model? Idk how I got a kickstart if they are not coming with them now.

@@RidinWithD-cv5hu I just found that x pro... that just made my decision a little harder between the orion, GXP and new x pro
We’re you able to get this street legalized???

@ call motobuys. They will give you a MCO that says motorcycle. I did it for mine
@@Crunchykyle Im going to give them a call. Thanks
@@RidinWithD-cv5hu let me know how it goes!
They told me for legal reasons they cannot change the MCO.
