I've learned over the years owning two 2nd gens , you need a good knowledge about vehicles, a good set of tools, and lots of patience with these trucks. Keep the routine maintenance up they will run forever, imo they are very easy to work on, Chrysler made these so easy to fix yourself.

If you have a older car/truck you might want to do a motor flush before you change the oil and after putting in new oil put something like STP or oil stabilizer.
