    Same thing happened to my 99 Dakota Sport 4x4. Developed a bad knock after 5 years of ownership. Bought a 360 from a 2000 Ram 1500 to swap the old tired 318 out. The intake and oil pan had to be swapped over but it was plug and play, same pcm. Lots of power now, and it burns less oil and gets better gas mileage now haha.

    I sure hope you find something even better. And we had a dodge dakota to did the same thing for knocking. we you put a few miles on it we had to get rid of it too. And only had sixty eight thousand miles on it and it was so quiet running. that's what had on it that low mileage Thank you for the video Thank you for the video

    If you were keeping the truck I would say get some sandpaper and a shoe string to sand that journal down best you can. Then see if you can find an oversized bearing to put in there.

    • @thesmallenginekid
      @thesmallenginekid  Рік тому

      I had considered that, I never measured the bearing, but I could see it was not completely round. It might have been worth a try though.

    What was up with the belt in the end 😂😂

    • @thesmallenginekid
      @thesmallenginekid  Рік тому

      Half the belt got shredded at some point and I never bothered changing it out, just kept an extra with me.

    Could build you a 360 and drop it in there, i love your truck though. I also have a 1500 long bed with cab lights

      Looking back I should have refreshed a junkyard 360 and slapped it in. But it's someone else's project now unfortunately.

      I need to put together part 3 of the 8N videos. (I got too many projects in progress) We drove it in Memorial Day parade in my town!

      This truck served me well. I just got unlucky with the motor. Overall they are very durable reliable trucks. I probably should have put a new motor in it myself.
