Same thing happened to my 99 Dakota Sport 4x4. Developed a bad knock after 5 years of ownership. Bought a 360 from a 2000 Ram 1500 to swap the old tired 318 out. The intake and oil pan had to be swapped over but it was plug and play, same pcm. Lots of power now, and it burns less oil and gets better gas mileage now haha.
I sure hope you find something even better. And we had a dodge dakota to did the same thing for knocking. we you put a few miles on it we had to get rid of it too. And only had sixty eight thousand miles on it and it was so quiet running. that's what had on it that low mileage Thank you for the video Thank you for the video
If you were keeping the truck I would say get some sandpaper and a shoe string to sand that journal down best you can. Then see if you can find an oversized bearing to put in there.
tough brake bro, at least you didn't cut ahole in the bed to remove that pump, props for doing it right! My ram v10 is ticking a bit should I sell it too?
Sucks... Mine is a 2001 5.2 and I don't have that problem yet but I know it's coming....people just don't understand how personally attached you get to those 2nd gens...spend money on them like crazy and still you want to make it better
@@thesmallenginekid would love to see a part three! Bet it was a fun piece to drive in a parade and show off your skills when you say you did it all yourself
@@thesmallenginekid. So glad to hear that. Since I started watching your videos I thought with the skills you’ve developed, you’d be a great engineer. Best of luck in college!
This truck served me well. I just got unlucky with the motor. Overall they are very durable reliable trucks. I probably should have put a new motor in it myself.

Sorry to hear the engine was beyond repair. You gave it a good try. Good luck finding the next one.
Good to see another fantastic video. Thanks
oh well, give you credit for laying under there and trying
Good luck 👍
Am so sorry Andrew. 😞
Your luck is like mine, I don't have any.

I had considered that, I never measured the bearing, but I could see it was not completely round. It might have been worth a try though.

👍👍👌👌 Thanks for the video!
You'll find something better Andrew.
I replaced my motor with a 5.9 engine 60000 miles on it
What was up with the belt in the end 😂😂
Half the belt got shredded at some point and I never bothered changing it out, just kept an extra with me.
Could build you a 360 and drop it in there, i love your truck though. I also have a 1500 long bed with cab lights
Looking back I should have refreshed a junkyard 360 and slapped it in. But it's someone else's project now unfortunately.
I noticed that you're from Connecticut, which part are you from?

Sorry to hear man. You gave it a good shot and at least you can say you tried.
Where are you at with the 8N?
I need to put together part 3 of the 8N videos. (I got too many projects in progress) We drove it in Memorial Day parade in my town!

Congrats on college!
College? Did I miss something in the video?
I never mentioned it on youtube but did on tiktok, but I am currently going to Penn State for Mechanical Engineering.

Grab that F150, then give dad a crowbar to open his wallet and get himself a new one
Probably will look into getting a 3/4 ton. The f150 is good though.

I wouldn't waste my time on that junk. Go buy a real vehicle.
