The more you demand the more likely they are to give up since they're going to lose a lot once they capitulate. But if you demand full anexation they'll be really unlikely to give up since they'll no longer exist if they back down.
Edit: This game is actually less complicated than Victoria 2 given that actually getting resources was pretty much magic.
Edit 2: you'll be able to add wargoals next patch during the diplomatic play stage, it's called a reverse sway(you ask for a demand for you to join) which will make foreign excursions much more enjoyable and worth it.

@@SGT I think I'll start playing when (hopefully) there's a proper Great War system. Victoria 2's wasn't great (or even good if we're being honest) but at least it tried.

@@LaVaZ000 they should just have it the same as Victoria 2 but sort out the officer system as selecting your best officer in order to win specific battles is kind of clunky to do in victoria 2 and also feels unintended af. I also think that you should gain the ability to do frontlines like in hoi4 but only when you get to the ww1 level combat era.
Just 200 more updates and it will be playable

I agree. It’s interesting that at some point releasing more titles after already having good titles will be frowned upon. It’s not like they can find more Victorian era history to make a 3rd game about, they just have to revamp all the mechanics.
Honestly paradox does this a lot. Most of their games without dlc are pretty bland. But Victoria 3 was pretty bad with the incompleteness of a lot of the mechanics themselves and the bugs.
This is why pre-ordering games needs to be discouraged. Not only do you not know what you're paying for, games developers now genuinely have the line of thinking that they'll release the unfinished game first then fix it later after it's been released. Not always the Devs fault sometimes the studio forces a sudden release date but still the laziness is unreal.

games back then were expensive as f* and you had to get your information by a single page in a magazin you had to buy in order to be even made aware of the game
The industry nowadays releases a lot of buggy messes. and? Noone forces anybody to buy it. They openly state that there are bugs. Everybody, including incredible helpful channels like the one you run aswell. They are saving us and them a ton of money by letting us do the bug hunting. Everybody can decide by themself if they hop the train, or simply wait another 3 years.
i have rather this than waiting twice as long and then paying the tripple amount of money because certain Companies cant risk not making a profit with a Game.
Imperator2 could have been a company crippling moneygrave. But after giving it to us early they realized that we are not interested in the idea, stopped development after refining it to be playable and moved on without wasting further recources
@@SGT id say for me personally, I prefer vic 3 due to the UI style being so much more simpler. i spent 2 hours trying to learn vic 2 yet I didn't understand a thing yet i spent 30 minutes learning vic 3 and now i understand completely. i get that for players coming from vic 2, vic 3 is probably a downgrade but for me as someone who is new to the vic series, vic 3 is just so much more appealing then vic 2

another major problem atleast in my opinion is the autistic mod limit on multiplayer games, you cannot play with more than 2 or 3 mods without it not allowing you to join, same checksum but the game will simply not allow it

Spain probably didn't captipulate because you had nothing mobilized. With the US it also helps changing to a professional military as soon as possible.
I really want to like and learn this game but I’m too impatient. I was able to figure out crusader kings 3 and then my brain said “nope, no more room for other paradox games.” I like the premise of not having to micro-manage the military, but the economic system is very daunting to deal with.

Fine Art is in high demand among obscenely wealthy pops and also tends to be very profitable so that's why Capitalists build Art Academies. Keep in mind automated investment pool construction prioritizes profit plus some attention to infrastructure.
Also there is still this weird dichotomy with the civil war where it's either the revolution will be too powerful to beat or the movement won't be radical enough to actually start the war (at least 100 radicalism is needed to start a war)

I feel that Vic 3 is an A5 Wagyu steak but the problem is that it’s still on the grill and if you eat it at launch, it’s pretty much raw.
Right now I think it’s servable but still too rare for my taste.

A problem i run into was lack of recources. At a certain point while playing the US i annexed every oil producing tile. My economy started to grew solely driven by inflation as there was no feasable way for me to lower prices. At the same time every other nation on earth simply died economicly as noone could compete with the prices my factories were offering for the existing recources .Same with Wood. Playing as China you have no chance but fighting wood wars in order to even survive.
With my last China i reached a GDP of 4,6 Billions. After that it simply became a chore as i was only fighting wars in order to satisfy my need for paper. Oil and Coal were again a problem but one i eased somewhat by building 10k Hydroelectric powerplants instead of any other type.

They really just need a new Hearts of Iron. These strategy games are okay and all but a lot of them are missing the warfare component that Hearts of Iron has.
Yeah, but hearts of iron is desperately missing the economical and political aspects that these games have. A combination is what we ultimately need.

@@SGT I really hope you play more of it. Victoria 2 is great, but Victoria 3 just has so much potential with mods. Also speaking of, use mods. Personally I use the x10 resources mod because resources are so scarce late game since the AI doesn't build resources and you can't do foreign investment(yet).

Until I can micro frontlines I'm not interested. Thats pretty much my line in the sand, I want there to be more player skill in war.
Just play hoi4 if you want a wargame. There are even Victorian era mods for that game.
I think the player skill doesn't necessarily need to be the actual microing, since youre already doing that for the economy. In my opinion, the real skill should come from managing the burden of war, similar to how in HOI4 you need to manage your logistics
@@zanlo1824 Never understood this response. If people prefer Vic2 warfare, why would they play HOI4? That game sucks, the warfare isn't even engaging at all. People shit on Vic2 warfare all the time but imo it's way better than HOI4.

@@zanlo1824 but victoria was a wargame, now it is no longer by the implication of your statement. i want a wargame set in the 1800s, why would i support the new game? and yeah as you said mods and fan projects and even other developers are options, but considering how much money is behind paradox i would be remiss to not complain to have them change the game to how i want.
No, the game may have improved, but it is still awful and that won't change without a radical change of direction that probably requires some personnel changes at the top.

The main thing I just hope is for more flavor, more mechanics, performance improvements, and steering the military aspects of the game more towards a HOI4 battleplan-like system
@@pendantairplane I actually hoped in ways to more indirect ways of influencing other countries and announced DLC actually does that.
Like there would be never a communist revolution in Russia if not for German agents working on it and financing communist to weaken the state, apparently this gonna be possible in the next DLC. Though we will see how in detail it gonna be as that's not really the main focus of the expansion pack but it's definitely step into right direction.
As it's right now any kind of espionage actions is non-existent and that sucks. It's fine to have less militaristic oriented mechanics as long as there others ways of impactful interactions with other countries.
@@SGT I haven't played but it looks fun. For the military maybe they could do it where certain policies give you direct control, or researching tech like radios gives us direct control for accuracy.
