I didn’t even finish the video, i had to pause it and tell you that this setup is AAAMAAAZINGGGGGGG. If I had THIS setup, my wife wouldn’t ever see me lol
For me, the toughest part is programming all the functionality of the various systems. If you decide to produce further videos please consider a complete How-To on the electronic side of the kit. We’ll done!
You failed to mention the crab eye effect. Every home cockpit uploads on youtube show the camera in a fixed centered position which doesn't show it. The crab eye effect is when you're sitting in either the pilot or co-pilot seat and the lines don't line up with your seating position. A perfect example is taxing, taking off and landing. At 24:24 you can see it in your video during the taxi test, but for the majority of it your camera was filming from the center. Once in the air you don't notice it, but on the ground it feels like you're moving sideways thus the crab eye effect.
Yep, definitely a pain for sure, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I just set my view to the center and leave it for the entire flight. Like you said, really only notice it on the ground.
One thing i did with a similar build I had done was get slightly larger screens and left a gap between the frame and the screens while adding a plastic window between me and screens. This , since the screens were larger than the frame window not only allowed a natural viewing change for minor head movements creating the illusion that there was more below the windows but also created alot more depth in perception .
Yep, considered this, but decided to go with them pushed up against. In my refresh of the cockpit, though, I will be doing a projector wrap around screen so it will allow for what you’re talking about👍🏻
Same as i did on my home sim. 32 inch screens are mounted about an inch back with some perspex windows. So gives depth when move head slightly.. Also real aircraft you do get annoying reflections on windows.
This is incredible! I’d really like to build something like this based on the RV-14. My kids and I have been enjoying some flights together so this would be a project we could work on together. Keep up the great work!
SKYTATION LONGITUDE COCKPIT v2.0: Coming soon (Fall/Winter 2023) I will be updating this cockpit into something a little more realistic, but also with some of my own creative liberties factored in 🙂 I will document the build via videos and live streams here on the Skytation channel. Stay tuned!
The outside looks like a pillow fort I would make as a kid. The inside is a $400 million plane cockpit. Nice job bro I have a Samsung neo g9 and a liquid cooled NZXT prebuilt with a 3080ti. You have similar hardware 👍 same monitor and tower.
As someone who hasn't played around with Flight Simulator since the late 80's/early 90's, this is mind boggling. What am I even looking at? And I thought some of the driving cockpits that people make are impressive. Just wow!
I just found your video. You are a godsend!!! You have links for everything!! Thank you!! I know you spend a lot of time putting up these links. Most UA-camrs don't understand that putting up links for the items helps their videos. I hope you have a sponsor !!!
so nice lol and its DIY no way its so clean, modern, sleek and is just overall so so nice. I could not think of enough words to fully compliment this cockpit
This has to be one of the best home sims I have ever seen. Beaten only by people that have built near replicas of commercial airliners. I love the sinplicity and modern looks of your sim. Well done. I am still in the process of designing / making mine. But mine will be converting between work desk and flight sim. No room for a dedicated simulator space.
Yeah, that was definitely the first big decision I had to make.... do I go for ultra real, making every single button, switch, and lever perfect scale replicas? While that would have been cool, I thought it more wise to build something that I could always adapt with. As much as I'd like to say I only want to ever fly the Longitude until the end of time, I know realistically that won't be the case. I'll want to try out other planes and the stream deck button setup allows me to do that. It works best for my use case, and honestly that would be my number one tip for anyone wanting to build a home cockpit.... do what makes the most sense for YOU, not what everyone else thinks you should do.
@skytation I agree. I am going a similar route. I have two main touchscreens with, a knobster and two streamdecks between them. I should be able to immersively, though not realistically, control most planes. I am not studying to be a real pilot so it doesn't matter to me if the controls are of the right type or are in the right position compared to the real aircraft. All that matters is that they are there somewhere and intuitive to use.
Very nice cockpit I like that setup because it’s possible to adapt it for different planes. Of course it’s cool to have a 1:1 replica cockpit of an real plane but an „universal“ cockpit gives you more freedom designing and building it how you want it. Thx for showing it looks just awesome, also it’s cool to see the air vents are actually working
Woah chill bro, it's not that serious, it's just a game. Just kidding, I love that setup man! Good job! I bet it feels so real when you are sitting in there.
Very nice, very practical lay out, aesthetically pleasing and i would imagine a joy to use. Many of these DIY contraptions are just weird and creepy, yet this marvel ticks all the boxes.
Thank you!👍 Yeah it was definitely a lot more than just building a structure, throwing a few seats in, and pushing some monitors up against the sides 🤣 Once I started down the rabbit hole, there was no turning back!
Incredible job here sir! Life is good on evenings and weekends for you! I just flew the Longitude for the first time a few minutes ago after upgrading to the Premium Deluxe version, what a beautiful cockpit (IRL and yours). I will be keeping an eye out for your upgrades to the cockpit!
Thanks for watching man! Yes, definitely stay tuned for more, also swing in for a livestream flight if you ever get a chance… Wednesday evenings around 9pm CST and Saturday and Sunday’s around 2pm CST every week!
Hey man if you just put up a bit of paneling on the outside and some cable management systems it would make it 1000x better looking!! I know its yours and all, but if I had a sim that nice on the inside, why not clean it up on the outside?
I bet this video is way better with voice over rather than live commentary. Great sim build too! Gives some inspiration about whats possible with DIY stuff. Thanks!
Like everything in life, its just a choice and focus. We all make money and spend money. Some on cigarettes, or drinking, or gambling, or maybe clothing, or jewelry, cars…..list goes on and on. I know people who say they dont have money, bit they make a car payment every month, eat out a lot, and choose to spend money on all kind of things. Seriously, its just a choice
Still cheaper than owning, maintain, storage fees, insurance, certification. I've been flight siming for 35 years. have had Goflight radio stack, MCP, efis, throttle, rudder. 3 screens plus two for instruments. Now I just use Xbox with throttle and rudders on a 50-inch monitor. It's all relative. Also there are more companies that make cheaper hardware for flight Siming.
For those wondering the monitor alone in the uk that main front window monitor is £2'000 without a single switch cable tie or curtain hook included. Thats a serious dedication to go to all that effort and expense, Bravo on your commitment to flight sim.
Very good , a clean modular look. I’ve been attempting to do the same to be able to switch between a GA Aircraft and a Heavy (Boeing 777/787). With your design I’ve been inspired to keep it clean and simple. Again, Great Job!!
This looks great, man! I just finished my type ride in the Longitude a few weeks ago and I’m really excited to be flying it. I’ll definitely be watching your channel to see all the cool stuff to come!
I was in the Royal Airforce at RAF Valley in Wales and spent hours in the Hawk sim that they use to train pilots .Eventually i got a few chances to actually get flights in the real thing . I was very lucky that i got to actually fly the Hawk with an instructor on what they call the morning weather flight .This was and is done every day to check out the weather before young trainee pilots fly for that day . So i now want to build my own home sim but simply don't have the IT skills to set up all of the screens and the controls . I know that there are some control mapping channels out there but they are far and few between . I love your set up great stuff.
Very cool! Yeah I had zero experience with any of this stuff when I started. Just took a lot of googling, a lot of researching videos, and a lot of reading. Eventually you just sort of "figure it out" hahaha. My best piece of advice, don't latch on to any one method or design. Take inspiration from all the ones you research and come upon, but make something that works for YOU. I got plenty of flack for not modeling every single switch, button, and lever after the real Citation Longitude, but that wasn't my goal. First off, I didn't know how to make/program all those individual buttons and knobs, but also I wanted something I could eventually switch between different types of planes if I wanted. And stream decks gave me that ability while still looking very cool in the process. So yeah, figure out what your end goal is first, and then just go from there! It's definitely a fun process....labor intensive and stressful....but fun🤣
@@skytation Hi Please could you tell me what USB hub that you are using . I have tried to find the official Honeycomb USB hum on Amazon buy they all say Xbox compatible no mention of the PC version . I live in Ireland and its impossible to get anything over here. Thanks
Thanks! Yeah I think all the fields of view are lining up pretty well! Now if they'd just optimize the multi-view feature so it didn't take such a toll on resources 😉
Love the setup!!! I also started with the Thrustmaster pedals when I was a student pilot. After a while, one of the pedals just broke off... Then I ordered the SLAW Device Viper RX pedals, and never looked back. 😊 Tweaking/upgrading the setup comes with the territory; Virpil and VKB also make some awesome components for the sim... beware the rabbit hole goes very deep. 😂
Hi there. My wife and I have just watched this video. She said that your cockpit is the best home cockpit she has seen. Our son is A320 type rated and his son, our grandson, is an air traffic controller. We are very much an aviation family. I'm the poor relation, being a humble simmer...LOL.
It’s the angle you’re seeing them from. The view is not stretched at all when sitting in the cockpit. The multi monitor support MSFS currently offers does ok, just wish each window’s view could be controlled independently.
I try the blower ,I did have fully enclosed cockpit but had to open it ,due to Australian summer in the garage also ,just got used tent over so keeps warm in water .I used bathroom fan to extract hot air out and drw clean air through door filter ,got no fresh air 55inch tv and 2x 32 in monitors just got like sauna lol.
This video is almost a year old, but still neat. We definitely need some links to setting up the stream decks and screens to make everything work (like the 7" to the 3 11" monitos). Great job!
Nope, they are not connected to each other. I did explore that option, but it was just going to be too clunky with the honeycombs. Maybe someday if I ever build my own yokes I’ll do it👍🏻
I am blown away and subbed to your channel. I love the cockpit, it is great. Thank you for sharing it with us. My favorite plane is the Cockspur C510 Mustang small jet, and I could see myself flying it with a setup like yours.
Clipped out the front of the cockpit. I’m using a livery with collision boundaries removed. There’s lots of tutorials online that’ll also show you how to do it by setting a view out the front by modifying your camera config file.
I think MSFS has native functionality now that remembers their position on screens once popped out, you still need to pop them out manually though. I use a program called pop out panel manager that pops them out automatically, remembers their location on screens, and allows you to apply touch functionality on touch screens for use with things like GTCs.
Sorry, never had any actual blue prints. There’s lots of comments on the tour video that ask about dimensions. Really the only ones I can remember were the width (from outside edge of seat to outside edge of seat) was 45”. That’s simply because my main front monitor was 45-46” wide and I didn’t want it going any wider than that. Now of course the upper window panels then flared out some creating that extra width on the top half. Again, they were 45” near the front, but at the back I’d say that width increased to about 72” maybe? Then length (from the very front where rudder pedals backed up to) all the way back to the curtain was about 60” I believe. And then the height was about 48” in the front up to about 60” at the back. Hope that helps!
Just found your channel as I'm searching for inspiration on a home setup. Is the discord still up and running? I can't seem to get an invite working. Also, while you breakdown each item of your setup, have you ever shared dimensions or plans for the hardware? Love your stuff so far!
Just ran into this vid and I like solving problems. ..lol.. You could try a curtain track mounted on the ceiling that would nicely shimmy around the periphy. Another easy thought would those stand up room deviders or even office deviders just too have this whole thing be less distracting and clean up for the outside. my 2 cents. Nice vid!
That’s a great idea with the ceiling slider mount. Right now I have it on the outside on a rod but I like your idea much better, gonna look into it. Yeah the outside I’m actually planning on finishing. Just basically panel it all up with a nice coat of paint so it looks finished. Also get some order to the cables. I mainly wanted to give it a good 6-12 months of break in time so I could use it, see what changes needed to be made, and then once I was happy with it then do a complete “finish” including the exterior. My wife will certainly appreciate that 😂
This was a fascinating video! Thank you for showing your setup in such great detail. Lots to take away and implement. I would love to see a video on how you set up your stream decks, especially the SD plus. Thank you!!
You bet, thanks for watching! Yes, I am currently working on a part 2 of the video that goes over a few of the details a bit more in depth, including the stream decks setup. Stay tuned!
nice setup , i have a question you might be able to help me with and i struggle with a lot. im programming 2 streamdecks a xl and a plus for flight sim, i fly the 747 since there are no packs for that airliner i have to program and make the icons my self. the issue is finding the keybinds. if you turn the dail knob to set a new altitute, you have to push the knob to execute the altitute change, the pressing action i cant find it in the control options to set your controls, also the same for the heading. ive been trying different buttons but i cant find it. also LNAV, VNAV toggle button i cant find the keyboard keys to do that and also before you able to set a verticle speed you have to toggle the vs button first, i cant also find the keyboard buttons for it. i try a few thing in instruments and settings, flight instruments, select altitute bug, select heading bug, select vsi bug. i thought those where it for the heading, altitute and vs but the not working. maybe you know the right ones. kind regards
So when you're talking about programming the stream decks to buttons/controls in the sim, I assume you're using something like AAO or SPAD? If so, programming that stuff from scratch is a bit out of my league. I started with a couple great SD plugins from flightsim.to that got me started, then I sort of modified them to fit my needs. But I will say, especially with the 747 and the refresh they're currently doing to it, the Working Title discord is probably your best bet for answers to your questions regarding keybinds/commands to map all that. If you're using AAO/SPAD I know for a fact someone recently posted on there a document showing all the event names that you could then use to tie to your SD buttons. So I recommend checking out their discord channel and then doing a search or asking questions in the hardware section. Good luck!
7 days of 3D printing 😂 I designed the bezels on fusion 360 in a way that all I had to do was take a piece of 1/2” MDF (which makes up that side panel) and cut a rectangle opening in it. Then, I took the 3D model of the bezel, cut it into 6 pieces (so each piece could fit my creality CR-10) and printed the pieces. Then I assembled/glued them into the opening I cut in the MDF, filled any seam lines, and painted 🤘🏻
That is quite the amazing flightdeck. The only things left is the dynamic hexpod, and some buttkickers for under the seats. Thanks for sharing this with us. :)
This is best setup I’ve seen in terms of both functionality and aesthetics. It looks amazing. The part I can’t figure out is how you got your wife to pick up materials for the project while she was out. You need to write a book on that aspect alone.
Simply amazing! Thanks for the tour. This is the only kind of setup that could ever get me out of VR I think. Unlikely to happen any time soon though. 😅
As someone who has never played or experienced Microsoft Flight Simulator, my opinion doesn't matter, but dude, I'm gonna be SO mad if you don't have the inflatable Autopilot from Airplane! Edit - Do flight simulators have a "Distraction training" mode? Where, you'd just be doing... whatever you usually do in the simulator -- I imagine it's not a "video game" that you can "win" but, I digress -- and every four and a half minutes, you just hear Leslie Nielsen, "Just want to tell you both good luck, and we're all counting on you."
really nice sim. Great job! Can you pls tell me what kind of 3d printer do you use and from what material is the frame of the sim? (not the wooden the other inside for decoration eg. window)
I used a creality cr-10 v2 to create the 3d printed parts for this cockpit. The window panels are made from 1/2" MDF, and the cutouts/bevels are 3D printed designs I made.
@@skytation That's great! I am trying to find the material that looks like the real aircraft i don't know how to describe it... It is like a cover that also the cabin windows case is made of and looks like plastic.. but I can't find the name of the material....
Very nice! I'm building a cockpit myself, this is great inspiration! I am using xplane though, computer isnt strong enough for msfs. I love the lighting and extra gimmicks, makes the whole thing look absolutely beautiful.❤
OP should REALLY let us know what kind of scene he met his spouse at--clearly ALOT of patience and love in this video, behind the scenes!! LOL Congrats!!
Yoke question, do both yokes operate? I have a similar setup and my first officer yoke is just an old saitek that isn't plugged in. I assumed they would conflict with each other. If I can get both working, I'll buy another Honeycomb Alpha. I didn't know if it would work so never explored it.
Yep, they both work and are both hooked up to the sim. The way I have found MSFS handles two yokes/joysticks/etc is it'll prioritize whichever controller it receives the most recent signal from. So for example if the pilot has his yoke turned left to make a left turn, and the first officer all of a sudden turns their yoke to the right, it'll take the first officer's yoke as the priority and will follow it. However, if the first officer yoke returns to a neutral position (no longer sending a signal to the sim) it'll go back to pilot's yoke assuming it is still engaged in a left turn. So basically hooking both yokes up works great, just be careful not to bump one yoke while another is engaged or you may notice a disruption in whatever yoke you are trying to control the plane with. But yeah, if the pilot gives control over to the first officer and leaves his yoke alone, then the first officer will have full control using their yoke and everything will work great. To summarize that novel: just don't move both at the same time :)
Thanks! Inspired by your home cockpit 100%, been following you for several years! Really liking the recent vids you've been putting out. Have you upgraded you visuals, or are you just using a single front screen/tv?
1 front view only still. Djort throw projector. Thinking about using a fisheye lens and building a curved screen. We had a curved screen years ago but it was pointless. Theres not enough space for more projectors but s projector eith fisheye lens might work. Or we try a similar setup as your setup. Do you have a how to video about your outside view setup??
Yeah, I considered projectors as well, but I had heard some people say the lackluster resolution isn't worth having the bevel free views. My monitors weren't anything special, the 49" curved front I had running at 5120x1440, and the two side views were 34" ultra wides running at 2560x1080. I chose them specifically because I wanted them to fit the window cutouts and essentially act as the actual "windows" and not just monitors. Worked ok, I enjoyed it, but in the rebuild here I think I'm going to go for TVs, that way I can get a little bit more screen real estate, but then also have them set back from the window openings a little more to allow me to look out and around. Also going to shoot for 4K. Doubt my PC is going to be able to handle three 4K outputs, but I have some ideas for that, we'll see!@@per-davidalm1434
This is outstanding. Thank you! What kind of in-sim setup is required at the start of a new flight? Do you have to drag the pop out panels to each display or redo the render screens?
Actually, no. Thanks to some of the genius third party developers out there, they've created FREE software that does it for you. I use a program called "MSFS Popout Panel Manager." Basically you pop out the panels you want and position them where you'd like (including the GTCs onto touch enabled screens), and then the software saves those positions and each time going forward when you start a flight it pops them out automatically to wherever you had them saved. AND it enables touch functionality on the ones you identified as such! It's really great stuff, cockpits like these would not be possible without those brilliant people donating their time and skills to this great hobby!
Sorry, just noticed you asked about the render screens, too. That one is a bit more fickle. Sometimes I've started a flight and my two side windows/render views load in just like normal, and sometimes they don't. I haven't messed with/researched it enough yet to see if it's an Asobo bug, or if I'm not doing something correctly or what. So that is a bit of a bummer, but it only takes about 45 seconds to go in and add them back again, and then I have a saved camera view that puts the view right back to where it needs to be every single time, so right now it's not a major burden.
Hate to hear to you tore this all down. I know you are upgrading, but I really enjoyed your touch on the longitude. If a full replica is what you want, that's cool, but yours stood out to me with the personal touches. Your use of the stream decks and the tablets looks great. I watched a few of your past live streams, and this thing looks very immersive. Hopefully, the new build is coming along, I would love to see it.
I wouldn’t say “tore”, just gently disassembled 😂 but yeah, gonna go for something a bit more realistic in the next version. I did v1 with the stream decks and all that because for one it’s all I knew how to do 😂 but also so that I could fly different aircraft if I wanted. However, I know now I really don’t ever fly anything but the Longitude, and with some newly acquired programming and design skills I can now model out physical buttons/switches/levers that I couldn’t before. So that’s what all led to the decision to overhaul it 🤘
Now all you need is a actual; Ator box and some servos for underneath the whole unit 3 footer and a raspberry board for actual movement for pitch and yaw. download and program a patch to the board and bam your have a full sim. very nicely built buddy👍
Use electric jacks for campers. 12v you need 6. Look at videos of airline trainers. It's less complicated than what you've done so far. You could have the movements activate from physical movements in the controls. Power it with 12 volt battery chargers. Run it through your fake fuse box and make it a real fuse box or don't.
Awesome! Honestly the coolest build I've ever seen. (that's not an actual replica of a cockpit) Ticks all the boxes 99% of MSFS players need and seems reasonable enough to build.
How did you decide on monitor sizes? I have three 55” 60Hz native 4k TV that would be far to big to make a cozy flight deck like yours but I have considered do it.
I chose monitors that could act as “windows” almost, meaning they fit the opening just right. I may be changing this in the future, but for now I like it
Nope, never have on VATSIM. The other day was closest I ever got, we got down below 400ft left for mins and I couldn’t see the airport (fog/clouds/rain). But right at the last second we got it. If I hadn’t seen it in those last few hundred feet we would’ve gone missed for the first time. Fingers crossed it happens some day! 😂🤘🏻
Wow! My sim room is set up to move 3 sim rigs in front of a 65 inch monitor rigs: Playseat Formula Pro with T300 base and SF1000 wheel and TLCM pedals Next level Racing F-GT with castors castors combat flight pack with Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo and Logitech Pro flight rudder pedals and a playseat evolution with T300 base and Ferrari Evo Intrgrale and T3PA pedals for my truck simming and GT racing 😊
Labor of love.. great setup why all that expense? why? because.... why not. this setup is Industrial grade and professional level. its not lagging behind the flight simulators of big corporations that I have seen on youtube. please share a video if you get a visit by a former or serving commercial pilot and he/ she gives it a go and the review of this awesome work..
It is really great work done. Lots of efforts and looks really great. also lots of new information (to me) and inpiration of how to move forward with my own. Thank you and also thank you for taking the time in listing the linkes of all items used. Question, I have the the saitek multpurpose pannel. can I use the Axis and Ohs to program it to control the MFD or PFD
In terms of “controlling” it via the rotary knobs on the GTC, yes you probably could. I use the rotary encoder knobs on my stream deck plus in place of those on the actual GTC. Also, I know you can use Logitech radio panel and control your radio frequencies using that instead of the radio options on the GTC touchscreen. Not sure if I’m answering your question, if not let me know…
Honestly man, I just had to mess with it. I watched all the vids about how to do it mathematically and with all the angles and this and that, but it just wasn’t working for me. Plus my screens are not all the same resolution… front is 5120x1440 and sides are 2560x1080, so that made it even tougher. Basically I just picked my front screen viewpoint, got the zoom set to where I wanted it and felt it looked good, and then I added the two side windows via the multi monitor menu in MSFS, and then just started playing with it. I just spawned in on a runway because the lines/markers made it easier to see what I was doing, and started adjusting until I got something I was happy with. I know that’s not much help, but since everyone usually has different monitors and stuff it’s never the same recipe for any two people.
This is crazy. My homemade cockpit just involves a random sock.
😂😂😂
Foul LoL
Haaah!!! Great!
Whoaaaaa keep it pg 🤣🤣

The amount of customization and expandabilty people put into their custom cockpits absolutely amazes me.
Yeah, it’s a sickness 😩😂
This is possibly, THE MOST DETAILED youtube video I have ever watched. Now i have goals for my home setup thanks to you
Right on dude!! 🤘🏻
This is by far the coolest home cockpit I've ever seen. So sick . Love the lighting , the layout is just so cool
Thanks! Hope to have some live stream flights coming from it real soon.... stay tuned!!!🤘

@@joca1378 yes! I’ve seen that dude! That’s a pretty hardcore setup.
Have you ever seen a real cockpit?
@@AlphaWolf198 Yes, I've seen a few real cockpits. I even travelled inside the cockpit of a small 12 seater in Africa when I was a kid.
Wow, when the curtain opened it looked so cool. Loved the madness on the outside.
One thing i did with a similar build I had done was get slightly larger screens and left a gap between the frame and the screens while adding a plastic window between me and screens. Having a cockpit fully enclosed like really adds to the immersion when you're doing a 2D set up such as this extremely excellent❤
so nice lol and its DIY no way its so clean, modern, sleek and is just overall so so nice. I could not think of enough words to fully compliment this cockpit
Thanks man! Got an entirely new one coming soon!🤘🤘🤘
@@flightsimdeskuk 100% Keep me updated on the progress, can't wait to see it!
That blower sounds terrifying my gosh LoL
I went to sleep, woke up and my joy for the project is reignited.
Woah chill bro, it's not that serious, it's just a game. Just kidding, I love that setup man! Good job! I bet it feels so real when you are sitting in there.
Ah yeah man, it’s awesome, I love it 🤘
Very nice, very practical lay out, aesthetically pleasing and i would imagine a joy to use. Many of these DIY contraptions are just weird and creepy, yet this marvel ticks all the boxes.
Thanks dude 🤘
What a lovely cockpit! The work gone behind the scenes can easily tell us with a quality cockpit you have. Cheers!
That toggle clamp to hold the seat is just ingenious!
Yep, struggled for weeks trying to over-engineer some sort of genius design.... then went to my garage and said oh, that'll work! 😂
Hey man if you just put up a bit of paneling on the outside and some cable management systems it would make it 1000x better looking!! I know its yours and all, but if I had a sim that nice on the inside, why not clean it up on the outside?
Yep, this was a prototype. It’s already in pieces making way for version 2 which will have everything you just mentioned. Stay tuned!
I bet this video is way better with voice over rather than live commentary. Great sim build too! Gives some inspiration about whats possible with DIY stuff. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed!
This turned out amazing! So realistic.
Thanks!
Step 1: Actually have money
Like everything in life, its just a choice and focus. We all make money and spend money. Some on cigarettes, or drinking, or gambling, or maybe clothing, or jewelry, cars…..list goes on and on. I know people who say they dont have money, bit they make a car payment every month, eat out a lot, and choose to spend money on all kind of things. Seriously, its just a choice
Stop being a master at baiting and clock in for those extra shifts.
🤘🤘🤘
Very good , a clean modular look. I’ve been attempting to do the same to be able to switch between a GA Aircraft and a Heavy (Boeing 777/787). With your design I’ve been inspired to keep it clean and simple. Again, Great Job!!
Right on, can’t wait to see it!🤘🏻
This looks great, man! I just finished my type ride in the Longitude a few weeks ago and I’m really excited to be flying it. I’ll definitely be watching your channel to see all the cool stuff to come!
SICK! Yeah stop by the streams sometime, I need someone who flies these in real life to tell me what I’m doing wrong 😂🤘🏻
Just found your channel, talk about the WOW factor, impressive.....
Thanks bro🤘
GREAT LOOKING SIM!! VERY CLEAN LOOKING!! Thanks for showing your baby!!
Any time!
just bought a thrustmaster HOTAS for my flight sim, i'm good for now but damn!
That's one impressive setup you have there
Nice, you’ll enjoy it🤘
My favourite cockpit yet. Well done!
Thanks dude!🤘
Awesome, enjoy it. Thanks for sharing!
THANKS!
if you think about it, it's kind of like a set on a filming stage. The outside looks like this , then inside is better clean and streamlined.
Thanks
how did you build/where did you get the white window liners for the screens? What material etc. Can you share that? Thanks.
Panel itself is 1/2" MDF, and then I designed and 3D printed the opening/bezels to give it that look/depth.
@@skytation Ok that was what I was missing you 3D printed those bezels. Thank You.
Beast Mode ! This is so awesome, and I love it, great job ! The taxi view is on point !!!!!
Thanks! Yeah I think all the fields of view are lining up pretty well! Now if they'd just optimize the multi-view feature so it didn't take such a toll on resources 😉
I just discovered your channel today.
That cockpit design is premo man.
Really, great job 👏🏻 ❤
Thanks man!🤘It's actually in pieces right now, it's getting a full redesign.... stay tuned!
Nice! Yeah I’m gonna design and built my own here in the v2.0 cockpit refresh 🤘
Hi there. My wife and I have just watched this video. She said that your cockpit is the best home cockpit she has seen. Our son is A320 type rated and his son, our grandson, is an air traffic controller. We are very much an aviation family. I'm the poor relation, being a humble simmer...LOL.
Awesome, very cool! Thank you, and thanks for watching!
amazing! the side monitors are quite stretched because MSFS doesnt do multi-monitor support properly.
It’s the angle you’re seeing them from. The view is not stretched at all when sitting in the cockpit. The multi monitor support MSFS currently offers does ok, just wish each window’s view could be controlled independently.
At first I was like "what is this junk?" - as soon as you opened the curtain, my jaw HIT THE GROUND - WOW
🤣🤘
I try the blower ,I did have fully enclosed cockpit but had to open it ,due to Australian summer in the garage also ,just got used tent over so keeps warm in water .I used bathroom fan to extract hot air out and drw clean air through door filter ,got no fresh air 55inch tv and 2x 32 in monitors just got like sauna lol.
Man I’ll bet! Yeah, the blower is nice.
@@skytation I put a link up, idea for lock for chair,d did you see it?
Looks really cool man must be a blast to have such an accurate simulation
Thanks!
This video is almost a year old, but still neat. We definitely need some links to setting up the stream decks and screens to make everything work (like the 7" to the 3 11" monitos). Great job!
Thanks!
What an excellent setup. The air vents are great.
🤘
Let's say you make a bank/pull back on the yoke; does the co-pilot yoke move as well?
Nope, they are not connected to each other. I did explore that option, but it was just going to be too clunky with the honeycombs. Maybe someday if I ever build my own yokes I’ll do it👍🏻
@@skytation Cool!
I am blown away and subbed to your channel. I love the cockpit, it is great. Thank you for sharing it with us. My favorite plane is the Cockspur C510 Mustang small jet, and I could see myself flying it with a setup like yours.
That’s a fun little jet, the mustang. Thanks for watching, make sure to stick around… project transformer is about to get underway!🤘🏻
How did you get your camera view for the screens. Man I really would love a how you set everything up video. It looks so good.
Clipped out the front of the cockpit. I’m using a livery with collision boundaries removed. There’s lots of tutorials online that’ll also show you how to do it by setting a view out the front by modifying your camera config file.
Do instruments that have been 'popped out' to another screen, are they sticky yet or do they still need to be popped out and moved every flight ?
I think MSFS has native functionality now that remembers their position on screens once popped out, you still need to pop them out manually though. I use a program called pop out panel manager that pops them out automatically, remembers their location on screens, and allows you to apply touch functionality on touch screens for use with things like GTCs.
@@skytation awesome. Thanks very much, and great setup!!
Hi - this is amazing! Subbed! Would you be willing to provide some measurements of the framing layout you did? It would save a lot of guessing.
Floored by this! Thank you for the video and outstanding simpit
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just found your channel as I'm searching for inspiration on a home setup. Is the discord still up and running? I can't seem to get an invite working. Also, while you breakdown each item of your setup, have you ever shared dimensions or plans for the hardware? Love your stuff so far!
discord.com/invite/4FguJyJYkC that link should work, if not let me know.
That is one incredible home setup! Kudos to you! Great to have a 3D printer for custom parts! All the best from Canada!
Thanks! Make sure to stick around, it’s going to get MUCH better here in the next couple months. Stay tuned!
My wife will certainly appreciate that 😂
Mate this is such a nice setup. Love the aircon too. It’s tempting me to make one
Go for it!!!🤘🏻
This was a fascinating video!
Stay tuned!
Looks better than any Flight Deck! Airbus and Boeing scratching their heads in the Office:)
😂 Boeing and AB about to invest in a LOT of stream decks!
nice setup , i have a question you might be able to help me with and i struggle with a lot. im programming 2 streamdecks a xl and a plus for flight sim, i fly the 747 since there are no packs for that airliner i have to program and make the icons my self. the issue is finding the keybinds. if you turn the dail knob to set a new altitute, you have to push the knob to execute the altitute change, the pressing action i cant find it in the control options to set your controls, also the same for the heading. ive been trying different buttons but i cant find it. also LNAV, VNAV toggle button i cant find the keyboard keys to do that and also before you able to set a verticle speed you have to toggle the vs button first, i cant also find the keyboard buttons for it. i try a few thing in instruments and settings, flight instruments, select altitute bug, select heading bug, select vsi bug. i thought those where it for the heading, altitute and vs but the not working. maybe you know the right ones. kind regards
Good luck!
Really Nice interior. Interested in how you made the interior side panels that cover the side monitors.
Incredible :) have fun with it, it's a really great job mate, cheer from France
Thanks!!!

This is best setup I’ve seen in terms of both functionality and aesthetics. It looks amazing.
The part I can’t figure out is how you got your wife to pick up materials for the project while she was out. You need to write a book on that aspect alone.

Beautiful. This could get me out of VR for sure.

Simply amazing! Thanks for the tour. This is the only kind of setup that could ever get me out of VR I think. Unlikely to happen any time soon though. 😅
🤘 yeah VR is tough to beat!
🤘thanks man
W.O.W. The best home simulator I've seen
🤘
really nice sim.
Thanks, can't wait to see to what you come up with!
@@skytation Good to know. Thank you!
Fantastic cockpit!! Beutiful work!!! 😃👍💯
I cant thubs up this enough. Love the set up. 👍👍
Thanks man, much appreciated. If you liked this, stay tuned to the channel for "project transformer".... even MORE home cockpit goodness!
Very cool, man!!
Thanks!👍🤘
Can you provide advice how you run so many monitors off your graphics card. Also, techniques on aligning your monitors.
More info on this coming soon… look for a video coming soon discussing a lot of channel changes that will include the topics you’re asking about 🤘🏻
Hate to hear to you tore this all down.
Haha yeah I wish, but full motion I think is a bit over my head.... would be cool, though!
This is amazing. Very awesome build.🎉
Thanks!
Awesome! Honestly the coolest build I've ever seen. (that's not an actual replica of a cockpit)
Ticks all the boxes 99% of MSFS players need and seems reasonable enough to build.
Thanks man....yeah, functionality for me playing in the sim was goal 1. Making an exact replica is cool, but functional was way more important to me.
@@skytation Just one thing I'd do differently next time.... build it at my house
@@fsxnico 🤣
That is one of the best-looking home simulators. Hopefully you never have to move.
You're telling me! 😧 Hahahaha
How did you decide on monitor sizes? I have three 55” 60Hz native 4k TV that would be far to big to make a cozy flight deck like yours but I have considered do it.
I chose monitors that could act as “windows” almost, meaning they fit the opening just right. I may be changing this in the future, but for now I like it
WOW ~~~~~~~~A separate window is a really good idea.
Just a question, have you ever preformed a go around on a vatsim flight and if so why did you?
(Besides ATC instruction to go around)
Nope, never have on VATSIM. The other day was closest I ever got, we got down below 400ft left for mins and I couldn’t see the airport (fog/clouds/rain). But right at the last second we got it. If I hadn’t seen it in those last few hundred feet we would’ve gone missed for the first time. Fingers crossed it happens some day! 😂🤘🏻

why all that expense? why?
because.... why not.
this setup is Industrial grade and professional level. its not lagging behind the flight simulators of big corporations that I have seen on youtube.

So COOL! Does aao support touch for swiping pages on the SD+? Beta version of Spad not quite ready for the touch implementation.
Yep, it sure does!
Not sure if I’m answering your question, if not let me know…
How did you get the pictures on the side monitors to match accurately with being several inches away from the main monitor?
