Hearing that Madeleine got the role to write this coz no one else wanted an isekai harem show... I'm actually glad she got it so the dub for this series got the treatment it deserves. And to hear that she loves the growth as much as we do is so heartening.
Her plea to others to give the series a chance resonates so hard with my pleas to others. Second chances are so important for people, and more judgment is not gonna help them in their journey for self-betterment.
It’s so cool hearing bits of Rudy’s voice in Maddy’s regular voice. Always fun to compare VA’s natural register to their characters’ register. ❤
Was kinda hoping she would do a bit of Rudy's voice in the interview for fun.
I mean.. it’s her voice lol. The entire time she talks sounds like Rudy. Cuz.. she’s the voice actress for him
@bykurt_is No, her normal speaking voice isn't the same as Rudy's voice. She speaks in a lower register when voice acting a male character. She even mentioned in the interview that she auditioned for the role using her "boy voice".

Great interview, will check the dub out just for Madeleine, it's so great when the people involved in the production/adaption of a piece of media are part of the fandom and understand why we like the series we like.

Hearing her speak so passionately about Mushoku, sharing the love she holds for it as a fellow admirer of this wonderful tale of growth and self-improvement, truly enthralled me. I hope she can return in the future when this season ends! Everything she said made me appreciate the world of dubbing a lot more.

I've never listened to the English voice acting. I'm totally going to watch this video in full when I have time thanks ED and Madeleine Morris. This will be an interesting and cool video.
really enjoyed the interview but her voice doesnt really fit 15-17 year old rudy. I wish we could have gotten someone with a slightly deeper voice but i am glad we got someone very passionate about mushoku

Zazie the beast was improved from the OG anime version; glad you got that opportunity.
They were one of my most anticipated characters in that anime.
But to imagine Zazi the beast cosplaying as Rudeus makes me laugh.

Im not gonna watch this because i havent watched the anime, but im gonna leave this comment and a like to push this on the algorithm.
I think she did great job with rudy in the first season, part 1 of season 2 she sounded too female though. Better in part 2, but I havent watched the whole thing in dub yet obviously.
I was fairly new to anime when i first watched Jobless Reincarnation. As Rudy got older becoming a young man the female voice actress became too apparent. I couldn't stand it. So i started over in the subbed version. I watch subbed and dubbed. But the female VA doesn't do our boy Rudy any justice.

Disorders can also mean something thats different from the norm, but not necessarily defective. Anyway, this is related to the brain. Neuro-divergent: displays neurological development disorder. Neuro-typical: Doesn't display any neurological development disorder.
no, it doesn't mean healthy. A neurotypical person can still be extremely mentally ill. A developmental disorder such as autism simply means the brain developed differently. It's only called a "disorder" because it's different from the norm, i.e. it goes against the majority order of neural development, but it doesn't necessarily mean "sick".
I have autism and ADHD. I learned to write software code when I was 12 and now work as a successful software engineer. I have difficulties socialising because neurotypical people faff around and don't say what they mean, whereas I'm very blunt. However, I'm still a functional human being.
I'm different; my brain works differently and the way I think and experience the world is significantly different to neurotypical people. I don't think that means there's anything wrong with my health.

In my case I had a brain tumor as a young child and had my right opcipitle Lobe (right vision lobe) removed.
Due to that I believe some things got crossed or something.
