How crazy that this video shows up as I am flying out to california and I was looking what else I can add to my Burney Falls itinerary for the day, thank you!
I absolutely love Burney Falls….came across it driving backroads up to my mom’s in Oregon…drove into the park having no idea what to expect. It was amazing!
I grew up in Mt. Shasta and went to all these falls regularly but moved away almost 20 yrs ago after graduating. Took the beauty for granted especially now living in Vegas where its brown year round. Also the only restaurant that was there growing up was the Hi-Lo Cafe in Weed
Wow you are very spunky and adventurous taking on all of those waterfalls in one day! I've only been to Burney Falls so that's my favorite, the teal blue pool under the falls is beautiful!
What an awesome one! Next try to see all of the California Glaciers... Twenty of these glaciers have been named - seven on Mount Shasta and 13 in the Sierra Nevada.
From the bottom of the falls the trail goes downstream and there is a bridge over the creek. You can take the bridge and trail beyond but I don't know where it goes. If you stay on the trail down stream, you will eventually come to Lake Brittan.
Our son worked on an engineering project near Burney Falls. He said it is awesome!! Love your channel and your family with Amy, the twins and your parents too
Just made that trip last week! Thanks for the recommendations. Unfortunately there where a lot of people on pools on lower mccloud falls, so that ruined my pic ;(. But I have BURNEY falls for myself only ;)
I came up from Utah last early September cause of the Dixie fire postponing my plans in July. I only hiked and saw Burney Falls and the Redding area due to the hazy skies that really put a damper on things but the falls were epic. I would def rate them No. 1 and No. 2 would be Middle McCloud Falls 3. that first one then Lower McCloud Falls, 5. Hedge something Falls lol and lastly, Upper McCloud Falls.
If you're looking for a good, sit down breakfast, the original Black Bear Diner is in Mt Shasta City. And, though not a waterfall, the Sacramento River bubbles out of the ground in the city park at the north end of town, off of Old US-99
So on hedge creek falls if you would have went all the way down the trail to the Sacramento river you cross the river only half foot deep then up the little hill onto train tracks going right walk down track there will be a trail before bridge down to Mossbrae Falls its beautiful falls...
thanks for sharing ! It would be morw helpful if you can demonstrate on a map the locations of those falls, as well as the name of those falls on the screen so we can search !!! Thanks again !
i am coming over fomr the Uk end of September, heading to Magic Montain Discovery Kingdom on my 2nd night, with a spare day before i had to Yosemite you have convinced me to drive to Burney falls, looks, amazing
Yosemite is great all year, but if waterfalls are your object September is a poor time to visit. Yosemite's waterfalls peak in the spring when runoff from snow melt peaks. By September, all of Yosemite's waterfalls have greatly reduced flow and some can be dry (including world famous Yosemite Falls, which has a modestly-sized and rocky watershed). From about mid-April to mid-October, Yosemite gets very little rain with which to recharge its waterfalls. BTW, Yosemite is an easy day trip for me and I have visited more than 200 times in my life and in all seasons. The best time for Yosemite's waterfalls is typically April to June, with the peak usually being in mid- to late-May. September is a good time to hike because the crowds and bugs (sometimes one in the same 🙂) are mostly gone. Burney Falls, on the other hand, *** should be *** more consistent. Northern California gets a bit more rain in the summer than Central and Southern California (Yosemite and Magic Mountain, respectively), Burney Falls has a fairly large watershed, and a large portion of Burney's flow is underground via passages in old lava flows. However, I have only visited Burney Falls in late-spring through mid-summer, so I can't tell you what September there will be like. HOWEVER, as Josh said, Burney Falls is a LONG way from where you will be. It's not even close to being day-tripable. According to my old copy of Microsoft Streets and Trips: -- From Magic Mountain in Santa Clarita to Yosemite Valley is 280 miles (450 km) and the drive takes about 4 hr 40 min, not including stops along the way. -- From Yosemite Valley to Burney Falls is 390 miles (630 km) and the drive takes about 6 hr 25 min, not including stops. -- From Magic Mountain to Burney Falls with no stop in Yosemite is 575 miles (925 km) and the drive takes about 8 hr 15 min, not including stops. California is a big place and portions of these drives can have heavy traffic that adds to the time to get places. I suggest you rethink how much ground you want to cover. Yosemite and Burney Falls are definitely two of California's "must sees", but trying to do everything in one trip like this is pretty much impossible.
@@skysurfer5cva I don’t think people realize magic mountain and discovery kingdom are two different parks in different cities even though it’s six flags. Have a great day.
Hello. You have an awesome channel and content. Thanks for all the great content and info you provide. Would you please let me know what time of the year did these hikes. Thanks.
I visited this falls one time about fifteen years ago and there was a fellow snorkeling in the pond. As I watched him, an Otter came out of the brush just about where this video was shot at 11:15, and entered the water and swam toward the falls. He went by the guy Snorkeling about 15 feet away from each other. I don't think the guy even saw him.
Hi - thanks so much for posting this. Ironically, I was going to do this exact same trip a couple of weeks ago, but it was in the 90's, so I may do it this weekend. I had the exact same list of falls to visit, with the addition of Mossbrae Falls. Having never visitied any of these falls, I am really excited to make the trip. To help me plan, can you let me know when you went, just so I have an idea of the flow I can expect? I know its been reallly hot there recently - how was it for you? What time in the morning did you head out to Faery, and what time did you return from Burney? I was going to finish with a hike to Heart Lake. Thanks so much for your videos! The first video I saw of you was the hike up to Mount Tallac, and after seeing that, I knw I had to go. Though challenging, its the one hike I love recommending people. The views are magnificent, and I look forward to doing it again! Thanks!
What date have you did this trip? Can u please provide a two day itinerary for Lassen Volcanic and Burney Falls. I'm from Pleasanton, really a great fan of your videos :)
Your video inspired me to plan a trip, but I am having hard time finding the first waterfall on Alltrails. I am not sure what is the right spelling "Ferry" or "Fairy". Search for neither of them produced relevant results. Please help.
i know where you can do nine falls ten if the last has water with out driving and all in one day easy silver falls state park. i went there five years ago the second best waterfall i have ever done only beteen by Lamington National Park in queensland 21 kilometer walk 16 falls
7:00. The problem with swimming in a place like that is a lot of times people want to suds up and think as long as they use soap advertised as environmentally friendly, it's OK. It's not. Any soap will cause suds, hurting the visual quality and enough of it can cause algae and moss growth which is bad for fish. Also skinny dipping makes it less family friendly. That whole area north of Redding was hit hard by the fires that started in 2018. The businesses can really use tourism dollars and are willing to put out extra effort. Don't bother going to Lake Shasta. It looks like the Colorado River at the bottom of the Grand Canyon. And just as dangerous for kids and pets.
So you could have done seven in one day if you would have visited potem falls half an hour 40 minutes from Bernie on your way to Redding. Fenders ferry road 8 mi out
We plan to do this trip today starting at Burney Falls and working our way back to Mt Shasta. We started our day at Yaks, BIG MISTAKE! There was a long extremely long wait and we just gave up after half hour. It’s not a serious business, they are totally unorganized and don’t care about their customers.
Burney Falls is my favorite in this one. I like the paved trail to view the waterfall.
Same here!
Bernie waterfall is the best one but love all the waterfalls
I agree, it is a special place for sure
Your channel is one of the first I turn to for road trip ideas. Thanks for all the work you put into these videos!
Thanks for showing just how easy it is to see all these waterfalls in just half a day
Thanks a lot for your road trip ideas! Hopefully next year we are going to visit california. I' m very excited, we come from germany.

Great video. I'm thinking of moving to Mt Shasta so this was great. I've been to Burney Falls and it's magical. Thanks for sharing 😊
Beautiful tucked away gems. fourth one ...Loved the expansiveness ....
Simply beautiful! I want to take a road trip now just for the waterfalls.🤗
Love these types of one day trips! I usually just get one day off work so I look forward to these

Hey Bubba Shrimp!!! Fantastic videos as usual.

Just stopped at Yaks and had the OMG! Great recommendation. Thanks!
Beautiful trip! And oh, Burney falls, my absolute favorite!!
Great video, and an inspiring one! I need to get up to the Shasta area! Six waterfalls in one day is epic! Burney Falls is my fav!
Are you chasing waterfalls? TLC would like a word. But seriously, I didn't know you could see so many waterfalls in a day. Great video!
Josh you could find some 20plus waterfalls in and near Lassen NP
Great video! I was there back in November 2021. I went to Burmey. Middle, and lower falls. I need to go back and visit the other waterfalls.
wow! So beautiful waterfalls! I definitely should visit them!
Beautiful!
Our son worked on an engineering project near Burney Falls. He said it is awesome!!

We were never able to find the trail to the first falls you went to, but the best falls to me in that area, and maybe anywhere is Moss Brae Falls.
Great job young man the more I see these videos the more I want to move to California in spite of the awful politics out there Thanks again
I’m from Los Angeles…and this is extreme Northern California…beautiful greenery everywhere
Just made that trip last week! Thanks for the recommendations. Unfortunately there where a lot of people on pools on lower mccloud falls, so that ruined my pic ;(. But I have BURNEY falls for myself only ;)

Thank you soo much. This video came right on time for my trip next month.
Glad it was helpful!
I went to Ferry falls during the fall it was very magical seeing the snow fall along with the water, have you been to mossbrae falls? It's in Shasta
Oh wow that would be awesome. I love that waterfall but I don't post about it since access is on private property currently
Great video, thanks! We're planning on a hiking to these falls in late September as part of a month long road.
Have fun!
there is Mossbrae falls near Hedge creek Falls
Tho Burney is spectacular, it’s usually crowded. I love the intimacy of hedge creek and the fact you can walk under it.
Me too, such an awesome waterfall right next to the freeway
Thank you so much for sharing
Beautiful
There is also whiskytown falls in the area.
Yea, that is what I would add to the list next time for sure
Love your videos! Do you have a California swimming holes list??
Loved #6, great video
I would like to visit the 6th fall sometime in the summer of 2023.

Water is COLD even in the summer
