The floods of 1964 made the Eel River rise high above flood stage and it wiped out several towns. We just drove through Weott on the Avenue of the Giants and noticed a sign up in a tree showing the ''high water mark''. My guess is that the sign was 50 feet above the road. The rains scared me and I have never seen it come down so hard since 1964.

@@PeterOwenFilms in California, you're not allowed to stand your ground, and of you do, you can be arrested and sent to prison, a criminal can hurt themselves on your property while stealing, and sue you for it. The gun laws are ridiculous, the new 20 dollars an hour will make the cost of living even worse, and will kill jobs, crime is horrible, tweakers are all over, and the list goes on. I loved northern California, but I couldn't raise my family in that kind of environment. My last straw was when sx traffickers followed my wife while she was jogging, luckily she got home before they caught up to her, but They caught the traffickers at a near Walmart when they tried to kidnap someone there later on that day. And living in California, I just didn't feel safe the way I did growing up in the 90s. My last year in redding, that's where I'm from, buissness we're closing down due to newsoms new tax laws for buissness owners, which meant I lost my job that I worked for thr last 5 years. I had all this experience, but the only people who wanted to hire me were temp agency jobs amd mcdonalds. So I took my wife's advice, flirted with idaho jobs, applied over a dozen, and not even a week later, they all wanted me. So I picked a warehouse job, moved to idaho, bought our first home, 2 years later I upgraded to a cdl position, and have been in idaho for 4 years now, and I have excelled soo much more than I wouldve in California, financially and career wise. I'm even getting my hazmat endorsement tomorrow so I can quit and start delivering fuel to gas stations. In California I'd have to do a 3 month long coarse and pass through hoops, in idabo, all I did was take one online coarse, and now I'm eligible to take thr test. I can even buy whatever firearm I want, buy it, and take it home all within 30 minutes. My quality of life is soo much better in idaho, but what I sacrificed was my home town, and everything that I knew. It was a small sacrifice to make, for a sense of normalcy..until democrats turn idaho into a democratic ran state lol

There’s endless beauty and special spots. If solitude is what you want there’s tons of places for that too.

Thanks for giving a shout out to Pt Reyes. Fact check…….. footage you showed is of Bolinas and Stinson Beach NOT of Pt Reyes. Huge difference……..

Yea they don’t allow drones in Pt Reyes so it was the closest shot I could get 🤪

sorry dude but your section on Mt Shasta showed scenes of Mt Lassen. Big mistake. Also its impossible to hike up Mt Shasta. Its a real climb that requires snow camping one night. To be done only by real mountain savy climbers. Mt Shasta always has snow on the peak but Mt Lassen does not during the summer. Mt Lassen is relatively easy hike of around 4 hrs round trip. Well worth it especially at night on a full moon in july, aug or sept only.

Actually that was Mt Shasta in every shot during that segment. It was prior to all the rain we got.

That's Shasta not Lassen. Shasta is actually two separate and distinct peaks. Shasta and Shastina. Shastina is the prettier of the two but never gets mentioned, which is strange.
