Truly unbelievable work. I'm not even a sword or blacksmith, I'm a cabinet maker... but I just love watching how people can create such beauty. It really is incredible of the detail in the Damascus right through to the head on the handle. Fabulous work, really appreciate your videos.
Top skills, according to a theoretical schooled metallurgist. I really do like how straight the blade is after initial forging and heat treatment. And than the way Freerk makes the hand guard, just amazing! And of course his thought process, use and knowledge of tools to use
A rare and extremely skilled craftsman, I thank you for posting this, as it is very interesting to watch your craftsmanship produce such a superb sabre. Count Wilczek one of the Polish noblemen, (I and the the Polish ambassador to America have the same surname) helped to stop the Turks from entering Vienna in 1683 with the largest cavalry charge in history.
Yes. The Crimean Khan was given the task of meeting and stopping the Poles, but the Khan betrayed the Ottomans and allowed the Poles to just pass them by.
You showed us that you are a really good swordsman, thank you for filming this and showing it to us. This video was uploaded 4 years ago. I think it deserves millions of likes. It seems that you made a Turkish sword from the Seljuk Empire period from Damascus steel.

A Polish hussar saber with a feather, with Polish cross art a deadly effective weapon. A real forage harvester in skillful hand. We touch the handle with the tip of the blade. If it doesn't bend or crack, it is well forged. A much faster and more practical weapon than the Japanese katana. One cut with a katana, three cuts with this saber at the same time. Polish patent for winning battles. Good job, sir.
Thank you so much for correctly labeling your video. I never make comments about how pattern welding is NOT Damascus steel because it is so common to call it that. You would just be constantly fighting with people whose work you actually enjoy. Correct labeling just shows how you are a bit more knowledgeable and how you respect the process that makes Wootz Steel and actual Damascus.
Just an idea: maybe you could make the turkish kilij known as "kara bela" or "carabella". İt was the most impressive and deadliest kilij the turks used and gained its name after the turks dominated eastern europe. İt translates to "dark/black trouble"
