In ancient times, there was no unemployment insurance. No retirement fund. If you were an old, tired man, you had to come up with a hustle, and fast! Everybody knew about the "Sacred Knowledge" that was circulating all over the Empire. Old men called "Wandering Holy Men" were in every corner of the Mediterranean. Every town had a resident Wandering Preacher, who carried scrolls under his arms. Such men were in great demand. The wealthy loved to invite them into their parlors, so they could watch and hear their wild stories, about demons, and angels, and mighty heroes who fought for "Salvation". They often sang, and danced around, while reading their poems. A crippled old man could make a decent living at it! By the time the 4th Century rolled around, hundreds of "Gospels" had accumulated within the Empire. It was time somebody collected them, and tried to make coherent sense of them. Constantine ordered a "cannon" be put together. About 80% of these fables were discarded, or destroyed. The "Holy Trinity" had to be quickly invented, so as to prevent "Christians" from being accused of Blasphemy. In no time, we had a new religion centered around a "Man-God" who violated the First Commandment. But the Jews immediately condemned it all. They had strict control over their "Holy Scrolls". And so you see in all the process, lots of old men got room and board, and we got our "Holy Christ Savior"!

Unfortunately it's baked into our upbringing. I've loved Math & Science since at least 2010, yet in those very years I was a young earth creationist. I nearly became an atheist in 2016, having finally understood evolution well enough to see that it was in fact superior to creationism, and not just on par with it (having even earlier believed it to be inferior). What happened then? I slipped back into religion. Though my world view was shattered, I guess my desperation to retain some semblance of my former world model grasped at anything it could, and soon I could counter my teachers 'rational claims' about the limitations of Christianity with faith healings I'd supposedly witnessed performed through it, and then I finally had the simplest ideas of capitalism explained to me, and flipped from an anti-capitalist (about 4 months old as one) to effectively an anarcho-capitalist, where the free market, unburdened by any form of regulation or bureaucracy was the way to go, and off I went with the Right for a good few years before eventually growing disillusioned when I started to see them doing a lot of what they were accusing the Left of. Yet still, despite thinking myself a centrist, and since 2016 bouncing between christian and agnostic, I retained what I would now call a Right wing attitude / world view, just being wary of conspiracy theories and wild / emotional claims. No matter how many Atheist videos I enjoyed, I would still bounce back Christian, and it wasn't because I was taking it lightly, I loved the thrill of having my beliefs challenged, it's just that overwhelming evidence did not quite equate to certainty in my mind, so while I'd see problems with the Christian idea, I didn't come across any 'gaping holes' that rendered it impossible, and from that little speck of possibility would crawl back my faith. Then I finally saw Genetically Modified Skeptic's video "The Realization that Shattered my Faith"
      ua-cam.com/video/LU-u5ZlYdzk/v-deo.html
, and in it he also covered the origins and evolution of the idea of hell, which helped. In it he covered this concept of a "Thought Trap", a flawed method of thinking that circumvents rational thinking and helps a belief reproduce. This idea struck home, as I found I had been guilty of it. A few more videos on academic research into biblical texts, and I realized, despite these people actually putting together the evidence with which to assess the bible, they and their credible work don't so much as get acknowledged by any pastor or church leader, they are treated as though they don't exist. In place of their concrete, well researched work, gets preached what simply amounts to the pastor or church leader's personal musings on what the bible must mean, starting with the assumption that it's all valid, as opposed to the complex landscape that those who've actually assessed it show. As of November, 2023, I finally became an Atheist, and simultaneously as I was losing faith I was also assessing the views of the Left, why they believed what they believed, and found little wrong with it on re-analysis, as opposed to all the horse shit conspiracy theories the right has been running with since at least Covid. The Right's strength is the simplicity of the ideas it preaches, but they oversimplify things to make it work, the picture is a lot messier than they'd like it to be. Maybe that's why they've been dialing up the crazy, to cover the details that don't add up.

I have no reason to believe that divine laws exist, just as I have no reason to believe that heaven and hell exist. As far as I am concerned, the Jesus Christ claims have no merit. Religious people can shout "sinner" at me as much as they like, but that will have no impact at all. Sin assertions only have merit if you buy into the biblical claims. To anyone outside of Christianity, shouting "sinner" sounds bonkers.

5:23-5:46 "When the women came back from the tomb, the disciples said their their stories seem to us like idle tales. … If Thomas didn't believe why should I believe?"
Because, of course, it is an incredible tale. The disciples including Thomas certainly believed when Jesus appeared to them. Note that Thomas then touches the wounds on Jesus' body. Now how could he do that had Jesus not bodily resurrected?
9:15-9:26 "He used the word egeiro which means that he raised… It's the word for waking up all through the New Testament. You find that word egeiro when Jesus was asleep in the boat. The disciples went and woke him up. No one thinks he resurrected from the bottom of a boat."
In the boat, Jesus merely woke up from sleeping. Was he any different then - "spiritual" perhaps? No. Likewise, with the resurrection from his grave, Jesus merely woke up from being dead. So do why should he _then_ be any different.
"egeiro" is perfectly applicable here. Luke uses it (7:14) when describing Jesus raising the widow's son from the dead - his body came alive. Mark uses it (5:41) when describing Jesus raising Jairus' daughter from the dead - and her body came alive as well.
9:46-9:49 "Remember the story of the Transfiguration when Jesus James and Peter went to see Jesus transfigured…"
Yes, James and Peter witnessed the transfiguration of Jesus to his spiritual form. Now, if Jesus was already a spirit, there wasn't much to transfigure, was there?

I've actually come full circle in believing Jesus' bodily resurrection: first, I blindly accepted it in accordance with the usual religious indoctrination (which is the basis of faith). Then, I became a skeptic -- raising all the usual questions about the tomb, the witnesses, etc. (toying with the idea that perhaps Jesus survived the crucifixion or that he only appeared in visions after his death). Now, however, I have no problems in accepting the physical death and resurrection of Jesus. The reason? I've shifted to the mythicist view that Jesus did not even have a flesh-and-blood existence in hisotry, like Julius Caesar. On the contrary, he was a NON-historical person -- just like Moses: thus, the crucifixion and resurrection become historically true events in a perfectly VACUOUS sense.

There is another explanation which merits deeper inquiry. That one says that Jesus/Yeshua was crucified, but he did not stay on the cross for an extended period. Many often hung on for days before dying. An interesting set of details: Jesus/Yeshua was given a drink while on the cross, he then appeared dead, the Romans did not break his legs to expedite the dying process, and his body was given over to a man named Joseph of Arimathea. This idea proposes that he did not die, but was in what we would call a coma-like state. He was resuscitated in the tomb and whisked into hiding. He then met with his disciples and even ate with them present showing his wounds. Joseph, or someone among the followers, arranged for him to be shuttled away to India where he had been as a teen and young adult. The other disciple were lead to believe he ascended into heaven and that he would come again in some apocalyptical return. The legend goes that he taught and acquired a following and that he lived to old age when he eventually died. Points to consider: there have been legends in that part of the world for centuries of a foreigner from the West who lived and taught love and compassion, among the stories of him were that he had unusual scarring on his feet which might be caused by a crucifixion event, and then there were Buddhist and Hindu monks who report meditating in location where he was alleged to have been and felt a mystical connection to him. Jesus/Yeshua was often referred to as Issa locally and later in Islam. The Ahmadi Muslims believe he did not die on the cross, but went to India. He is rumored to be buried in a tomb in Kashmir which also houses a Sufi (Islamic) saint, but I doubt any investigation has been done there. I set aside the claims of Notovitch as we cannot be certain of his motivations, but the fact that these stories have persisted for so long in that area of the world might merit deeper investigation.

You could also make the same comments about any religious founder and if their influence died with them, we wouldn't be even discussing it. I may believe that those who bought into the narrative of a certain political leader is wrongheaded, but I cannot pretend it doesn't exist. I'm not saying all those ancient stories are legit. I am saying investigate, just as you would an ancient site anywhere in the world. Some stories are legends, but it is interesting that such things impact societies and the people in it even until today. A Muslim woman in Iran may see no objective reason to wear a hijab in public--she may not even really be a Muslim, but her decision to wear it or not will impact her regardless of her perspective. Study natural phenomena, of course, I'm not saying we shouldn't, but if we ignore anthropology and other factors which contribute to human civilizations, we ignore much of what has fashioned us as humans.

    NATURAL SCIENCE PANTHEIST CREED
We are part of nature which created us & after death we will be reabsorbed into nature. We are at home in nature & in our bodies. Earth is where we belong. Earth is the only place where we can find & make our paradise, not in some imaginary world on the other side of the grave. If nature is the only paradise, then separation from nature is the only hell. When we destroy nature, we create hell on earth for other species & for ourselves. Nature is our creator, our home, our security, our peace, our past & our future. We should treat natural things & habitats as sacred-to be revered & preserved in all their intricate & fragile beauty.

The gospel is the “good news” because it contains the exceedingly wonderful message of God’s redemption of sinful humanity through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. The gospel is the heart, the central core of Christian preaching.
The English noun gospel comes from the Anglo-Saxon term godspell, meaning “glad tidings.” It is translated from the Greek evangelion, which means “good message.” Originally, the word was related to news of military triumph. But when the New Testament was recorded, its writers assigned the term gospel to the “good news” of salvation in Jesus Christ.
The gospel encompasses the entire communication of redemption and salvation to humans as preached by Jesus Christ and His followers (Matthew 4:23; Romans 10:15). Later, the term gospel was also applied to the four historical records of Jesus Christ’s life written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These four men are the original “evangelists,” or writers of the evangelion.
The announcing of good news began with an angel heralding John the Baptist’s birth to his father, Zechariah: “I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news” (Luke 1:19). John the Baptist was the first to preach the gospel (Mark 1:1-4). After John baptized Jesus, God’s Spirit and anointing rested on the Lord “to bring Good News to the poor . . . to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free” (Luke 4:18, NLT) and to “proclaim the good news of God” (Mark 1:14).
“The time has come,” Jesus began. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!” (Mark 1:15). The gospel Jesus proclaimed focused on the arrival of God’s kingdom (Luke 10:9; 17:21). Through Christ’s coming to earth, God’s rule would be completed (Matthew 6:10), His righteousness established (Isaiah 9:7; 32:1), and His people glorified (Romans 8:17-18; Colossians 1:27). After Christ’s resurrection, the gospel was preached by those who had witnessed His life (Acts 5:42; 8:4-5, 35; Romans 1:1-4, 9), and today it continues to be preached throughout the world by His followers.
The gospel is good news because in it we find God’s promise of forgiveness from sin. John testified that Jesus is “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world!” (John 1:29; see also Luke 24:46-47; Isaiah 53:4-6; Acts 13:38; Hebrews 9:28). Through the gospel, we receive God’s power to live a new life in the righteousness of Jesus Christ: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed-a righteousness that is by faith from first to last” (Romans 1:16-17; see also Romans 3:21-26).
According to the gospel, sin separated us from God (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 4:18). But when Jesus died on the cross, He paid the price and canceled the debt of sin for all who would believe in Him. He was “pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him” (Isaiah 53:5; see also Colossians 1:20). The gospel is good news because, through faith in Jesus Christ, we are reconciled to God and brought near to Him in fellowship: “Since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us” (Romans 5:1, NLT).
The gospel is good news because “to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God” (John 1:12-13). Everyone who believes in the gospel and submits to its demands receives new life in Jesus Christ. We are adopted into God’s family (Romans 8:14-17; Galatians 3:26). We are “born of the Spirit” (John 3:5-8) and receive the “gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2:38; see also John 7:37-39), who guarantees our heavenly inheritance (Ephesians 1:13-14).
The gospel is the greatest love story ever told (John 15:13). What could be more excellent news than its promise of eternal life in Jesus Christ?: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him” (John 3:16-17; see also John 11:25).

Moses will be resurrected from the dead as our January.
Moses was "gathered unto his people" (Num. 31.2), i.e., leaving the Sun, "he went and returned, and dwelt" with the Sun - he completed the circle of the zodiac, or year. Having thus looked upon the Promised Land (summer), Moses died and buried himself in a valley in the land of Moab (water-father = Aquarius = Moses), "but no man knoweth of his sepulcher unto this day" (Deut. 34.6). Although one hundred and twenty years old, " his eyes," it is said, " were not dim (his stars shine as brightly now as they did then), nor his natural force abated (the rainy season still comes on every year) " However, the people wept thirty days, i.e., during the passage of the Sun through Aquarius, the Wash-pot (Ps 60.8), or the rainy month of January.

Video evidence would be good but it’s more a point of why is it that so much of what we have is personal testimony that cannot be corroborated by anything other than more of the same from other followers? And what do we have from antiquity? Just the stories in the bible and other sources referring to those stories. What else? The lack of video evidence is not the issue. It’s the lack of anything that would corroborate the stories and testimonies.

That's 2 lives. If you make such a statement like that, and you are wrong, and you teach others, my Father taught me that you could be having to deal with the fallout of that for a very very very long time. Gracias.
