This series has 3 protagonists. The vault dweller, the ghoul, and the brotherhood soldier. The ghoul was alive pre-war, so he will be responsible for a lot of the pre-war flash back scenes I’m sure.
It's probably not Dogmeat. It's set in 2296, AFTER the events of Fallout 4, and, it's back in Southern California, where the first two games were set. That was the NCR, New California Republic forces, not the Minutemen.
The dog has already been confirmed to be named CX404 but What does the timeline have to do with it not being dogmeat? You know dogmeat is in fallout 1 and 3 right? He even makes a cameo in fallout 2
Dogmeat appears in fallout 1, 2 (easter egg, apparently), 3 and 4. Different dog, same name, like that comic strip "The Phantom" by Lee Falk. Fallout 4's Dogmeat is the 4th "The Dogmeat" :)
Hey, every main game in the series has companion dog named Dogmeat. It's obviously not the same dog or it would be the first dog to live more than 100 years.
S-Tier content from an S-Tier couple! You two are great together. Been an OB fan for years and love that you've gone off to do more content at home that fits your personalities.
Fall Out 3 was my favorite, I loved all the hidden missions, learning on my first play through not to just kill anyone because they might give a task later on the game.
They aren't the Minutemen. This takes place in California. Those were mostly likely NCR (New California Republic) soldiers. It looks like the Brotherhood of Steel may be at war with the NCR. This is more so a continuation of Fallout: New Vegas with the timeframe of Fallout 4; which takes place on the opposite side of the US at a later time.
@Tony-rh2lp The flag at 7:55 is NCR... Also, the barret, combat armor, and cowboy attire is hallmarks of NCR. Also, the Minutemen are not in California.
This is post-Fallout 4 and likely has no character crossovers from the series. Todd Howard said that they wanted to avoid doing the story they had done previously.
Not exactly. He said it's all cannon and adheres to prior cannon. They are treating this like Fallout 5, from a story perspective. So you might see cameos of Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas, for any characters that would still be alive, at this later date. I think anyone from Fallout 4 would be too far away geographically, to make it in to this story though.
The show is set in the West Coast California while Fallout 3, 4 and 76 are set on the East Coast the factions are a bit different the minuteman only exists in Fallout 4 on the West Coast they have the New California Republic which was the only know post apocalyptic country to exist in the Fallout Universe but in this trailer it looks like they have gone to war with the Brotherhood and got destroyed.
If they have it, you can use the machine that simulates a bench press, but you're sitting up. Only downside is the fact that it isolates your pecs and triceps without engaging any of your supporting muscles that you'd also be working when using free weights.
Fallout 4 was set in Massachusetts (Boston and its surrounds). The TV series is set in Los Angeles, I believe. So while it is happening during a similar time era (maybe after the Fallout 4 specific dates), it is an entire different location so is unlikely to have any character crossovers between any of the game characters. Also that wasn't the Minute Men (MM were specific to Massachusetts), it looked like members of the New California Republic Army were fighting the Brotherhood of Steel. Regardless, it looks bloody fantastic and i'm thoroughly looking forward to it. :)
I think, from the trailer, that Cooper Howard is running to the vault to save his daughter, whom they take in, and he is left behind. I think that Lucy is his greatgreatgreatgreat grand daughter.
Congratulations guys 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Great video, I don't play some of these games like BioShock or The Last of Us or Fallout but when they make series out of them and they look you good I love to watch them. Of course I read the comments from gamers to see how true to the source material they are and if they do the ges justice. Even if they say they're not the same or they switched some things I still watch because they look so good. Cheers guys and congratulations again 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
firstly, so fkn stoked that you like Fallout! i usually follow you for your Ren reactions. anyway, the dogs name, at least in the games, is Dogmeat. to the best of my knowledge they haven't announced the name of the dog in the show, but if i were a betting man i'd probably put my money on it being Dogmeat. as for your discussion about the timeframe for the arrival of a new Fallout, well there currently isn't one to speak of and the next Elder Scrolls is probably going to be around five years away. but yeah, i would totally be interested in watching you guys watch the show. oh, and for the record, i come to your channel to hear your perspective on things. anyone who doesn't want to hear that is always free to go to the source material instead of complaining about it. seriously, fk those guys, don't ever change! much love to you both.
I have hope for this one because i have seen glimpses of Vault experiments that we gonna see, similar to the Tranquility lane in vault 112 and the other one where they were enraged.
It's possible the Minutemen expanded to the West Coast, but prior to this show, they only existed on the East Coast. The faction she saw fighting the Brotherhood of Steel, is the New California Republic, the only nation to exist in the universe, so far.
I enjoyed it for the most part, but it didn't live up to the hype. $1 billion dollar series budget, and only 37% of viewers actually finished the season. That's...not good.
Wow it took me about half a dozen watches to finally place she was Patty the Daytime Hooker. You nailed that connection first go... There's only one Dogmeat! But this is clearly a very similar dog and definitely a nod to Dogmeat.
LOTR is a lot more complicated property to adapt, and Amazon didn't get the rights to the Silmarillion, hence taking certain liberties that have come under scrutiny. There's no such restriction with Fallout. It is also being headed by far more experienced writers and showrunners. And Todd is working directly with Nolan and Amazon and recent interviews show they even have conversations about Fallout 5 and how that can shape up. So there's lesser distance between the property and the adaptation. Not saying it will certainly be successful and great, but the situation is different from LOTR.
The only currently scheduled Fallout game is a next gen update patch for Fallout 4. Huge mistake, imho. But they can't wait 5 years to make a show, while they make the game, so I get it.
had me go and buy Fallout4 for Xbox one from Amazon just now.. never played any of the games prior. looks good, but since a series, not sure if it will stretch out too long?
I'm currently doing my third playthrough of New Vegas. I've only done 4 once. I liked 4 more but enjoyed New Vegas more. Honestly, if 4 didn't have the defend settlement aspect, it'd be better for me. I had my settlements well armed and I knew they'd defend themselves. However, when it said "x" is under attack I'd fast travel there. There were so many settlements to have to build up and also defend. With Fallout, it's up to choice, I always have to be the good guy, even in video games. Even in New Vegas, I was only ever vilified by the Legion (I hate Slavers), Khans I was like a rascal or something. With 4 I stuck with the Minutemen as long as I could.
You can just not work with the minutemen. You're not responsible for any settlements until you agree to do stuff once they reach Sanctuary. I've done it a time or two. Also, it's good you try to get to settlements when they are attacked because all the defenses you build only affect the outcome of attacks if you are there. Bethesda never built in a way to track how well defended each settlement is when your character isn't there. It's up to random chance whether a settle will take damage or not (aka defend themselves successfully or not).
If the show was representing Fallout 4, it would be fifteen hours long, and fourteen of those hours would be clearing out settlements for the Minutemen, lol.
3:42 To me, if you know the Silmarillion and how great those stories are, it becomes even more disappointing how Rings of Power turned out and how far away it is from its way more interesting Silmarillion counterpart. Sadly Amazon doesn't have the rights to the Silmarillion though, as far as I know. In contrast, if you know the story of "Fire and Blood" aka House of the Dragon you'll probably really be excited for what's coming up cause sh*t's about to hit the fan.
I played about an hour of Fallout 4 or whatever it was (it was the one with this storyline) a couple years ago but then a new game came out and I forgot about it. I should pick it up again
The shows story is original and not based on any of the games. You're likely thinking of Fallout 4 because of the in-game companions (NPC friends who will help you character out) being vaguely similar to the none Vault dweller characters who are hi lighted.
Great you enjoy the trailer but I have to say.. Bethesda's Fallout sucks. That's just how it is.. They destroyed the entire old fallout lore. You will hear that more if you talk to original fallout fans.. Bethesda never understood Fallout or it's mentality. They think that's its about the 50s in a apocalyptic world but it's actually about the 50s world that was destroyed in an ultimate world conflict and mad max arose from that world. It makes no sense that people wear fine outfits in this world because they don't know a THING from the old world. But they don't need the original fallout fans because they're fallout is for the masses.. Not for fans. But the series is well made. I already don't like it that they introduced the *Eastern* Brotherhood of Steel first because that's the most hardcore and extreme brotherhood. Fallout is not a critique of capitalism.. It's an ANTI WAR game.. Nothing to do with Capitalist or communist.. Or any other ideologies. Most of the villians in fallout are actually not typical villians they all want to create a better society.. But have different motives. It's not as black and white as you may think.
As a big fan of Fallout games I really look forward to this. I hope Walton Goggins has a big role to play in it and doesn't get killed in the first episode.. I absolutely love this guys since Justified.. About House of Dragon.. I do understand your critics about the politics aspect, but I think season two will basically reap what they sow in Season one and it ain't gonna be pretty.. What I do not understand is your excitement about Rings of Power.. in my humble opinion this show was absolut dogshit and a disgrace to the franchise.. but who am I to judge..
