    Hello, I have plenty of luck fishing the margins using heavy baits such as mussels or prawn but my issue is when I'm fishing shallow instead of on the bottom I find the bait too heavy and the float sinking. Have you any tips on how to stop this from happening? Many thanks

      Go heavier on float or remove shots

    I've heard a lot of people using dead maggots, whats the advantage of dead ones over live ones and also how to you kill them?

    • @Sonubaits
      @Sonubaits  11 місяців тому

      They don't wriggle around and attract small fish as much. Also less prone to flicking over and masking the hook point.
      You can freeze them, or add them to hot water that way takes some practice but essentially you want the water just hot enough to kill but not scold the maggots. To do this start with hot water and add cold gradually (testing with a single maggot) until they stretch out but dont discolour.
      Alternatively just take the air out of your maggots (for a while) and add straight to water on the bank.

    Fished that lake yesterday, it was difficult going and the fish are shy but a sure way to catch on that lake is floating bread.

    Another awesome video and what a cracking margin session with some beauties in the net. I'm just getting back into coarse fishing after a few years break, and I've just ordered a Shakespeare Super Team 11m pole as I'm on a budget and this pole didn't break the bank,ive seen the reviews about it and seen people putting it through its paces well impressed. I started fishing at the age of 7 and I still watch videos to gain extra tips to help put fish in the net, keep up the videos and catching those lumps.

    Try one corn kernel on the hook with 2 live maggots on the hook's point, it is a deadly bait for big carp in my neck of the woods...

    Can't use groundbait on my local, would you recommend feeding more particles by pole pot or hand to try and bring and keep fish on your peg?

      @@sillybait1329 Yes they fit strait on to your no3 the same as a normal top-kit. They are the roller-puller tops but I don't honestly know about their elastic rating! I think being primarily aimed at f1 anglers I doubt they're up to a short length of red hydro but I don't know for sure.
