SHIPP'S TIPS - Episode 9 - Carp In Shallow Water!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 17 лис 2024
- In Episode 9 of Shipp's Tips, Des Shipp heads to Ivy House Lakes in Swindon to demonstrate the tactics required to amass a weight of carp in very shallow water now things are heating up! At a time of year when carp are looking to feed aggressively and in turn, delve into the shallower areas of the lake such as the margins or up to island cover, getting your tactics right when trying to catch these fish is vitally important. And while often fish will be visible in such shallow depths, catching them is often easier said than done! In this video Des looks as the bait, rigs, tackle and tactics required.

The legend him self ! Des ship, another great video!
Awesome 😮 thanks des I know they are old videos but I'm a Newby and anglers like des and Lee from preston I can't thank you enough 👌👍🎣🎣🎣🎣
Could listen to this man all day. Fantastic des
Thanks Harlee
Thank you for explaining your thinking Des, it's really informative for those of us starting out. I like the way you don't just say what to do, but explain why, and give examples. it's a great teaching style.
Glad it was helpful!
Another great episode of shipps tips, nice easy to follow tips and advice from des,
Glad you enjoyed it
Another top set of tips Des for us mere mortals.
Glad you found the video helpful Ian!
lovely fish Des and great venue by the looks of it.
the complete ambassador for preston's and sonu, the best there is
We agree!
Very good des and some very clear camera work especially at 28+mins. You had your cake there des, but it was the fish that lapped up your Banoffee groundbait, maybe chocolate orange next😱 can you tell I’m missing the cake shops. I’ve watched carp in a enclosed clear pool, coming back over we’re groundbait once was for ages. It’s like the aroma lingers and the tiniest of crumbs gill feeding. Thanks💪💪👍
Cheers Dave, glad you enjoyed! It is certainly interesting to see how what would seemingly be next to no bait to us is often a lot of attraction to fish!
watching your videos des, and putting the tips into my own fishing has honestly increased my catch rate at least 100 percent. i’m currently having great luck with the sonu krill groundbait. thanks so much mate
really love video's like this really like it to see in the evening after a day off work, dreaming off cathing them self, and trying some off the baits that des is using.
Great to hear! Have you managed to get on the bank recently?
@@Sonubaits yea i did at a lokal bank. Used your expander pellets with bait booster. Works great, and sow easy to prep just put them in the fridge the evening before and they are great. Also the new hookabele expanders seems to help catching fish and let us not forget the lovely f1 corn that really seems to be diffrent from normale corn in atracting fish! Really love the bait you guys make! Keep making them!
I went down to my local tackle shop today and picked up everything he showed today can’t wait to try it tomorrow
Hi Freddie,
How did you get on?
Class again from the master thanks Des and Jake 🌟👍
Thanks Jeff :)
Really enjoyed watching this, I remember fishing Ivy House lakes in my childhood, was a great venue then. Thanks for sharing your knowledge once again Des and thanks Sonu for the footage 🐟🎣👍
Great video des
Thanks!
Fishing at the lake im always at, very good video it just shows how good this venue is!!!
Another brilliant video des learning so much from you thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video guys, nice editing Jake. Good to have a constant visual of what Des is watching, if anything I'd prefer to have this as the main screen so you can clearly see the bites, liners and the wider angle shot of Des as the insert, no disrespect to the lovely Desmond.
Commentary excellence as ever, best in the business.
Glad you enjoyed Karl, and will mix it up regarding angles and main focus!
Pure masterclass, never pole fished before, but you are tempting me. you certainly make it look simple.
Fancy a day out at Spiers Lake ?
Well presented video Des, just sold my match gear damn, still keep watchin,, enjoy ur pod casts, stay safe pal
A shame you've got rid of your match tackle, hopefully we can convince you to change your mind at some point!
Fantastic as always Des.... picked up a couple of finer points that will hopefully top up my nets 👍
Glad you enjoyed it Paul
Another brilliant video, now all I have to do is put all the tips into action 🤣
Excellent video. I know what my next pole will be 😋
Good choice!
i have used that ground bait few days ago at oaks fishery sessay fantastic bait and also using fjuka pellets
Glad you liked the groundbait!
Great tips thankyou Mr Shipp. What are the things called that are on your top kits, that you use to hook your hook on when store your top kits in roost ? Cheers.
Hi Ash,
Glad you enjoyed!
They are called Rig Hook Ups (Preston Innovations) , they're in shops very soon!
@@Sonubaits look forward to seeing them, look a bit better than elastic band 🤣
Can you tell me the difference between using a carp shallow and edge floats please and when to use them
Thank you
Hi Des if you were only allowed 2 bags / types of ground bait to use (mixed or on their own) on a all round every time session what would they be, I normally fish a mixed commercial carp f1`s roach bream etc. 3 to 4 ft deep pole or feeder many thanks
Whats the main difference/advantage between dura hollow and dura slip ?
Hi des. Having problems with the pro expanders. Have followed your advice to a tee.... But sadly ending up with over soft pellets / mush. Even doing the pellets in the flask with ice cubes.....
Could it be as simple as a bad batch... It's got me pulling my hair out... Cheers.
Hi Simon,
The batches with Pro Expanders should be fairly consistent because of the process they go through. However, it sounds like they are over swelling which then in turn leads to them becoming over soft and splitting which is generally caused by having too much room to expand in the tub. Have you tried the method in a sandwich bag with water tightening down to the pellets? And then on the bank pouring into a tub of water..
i have never pole fished but it looks rather cumbersome to me. when i fished in the 70's it was mostly french anglers used the poles.
Super crush banoffee as paste on the pole brilliant and deadly for BIG carp
Please des q&a number 9 when is it coming our way with joe carass xxxx
Like to know more where the venue is
What pole is that? looks great at 16m
Preston Innovations Response XS90 👌
Where are you fishing. Regards
Ivy House Lakes near Swindon
Porządnie.
fishing in a mudhole: chuck anything u want and catch a carp , welcome in england people :)
No skip your not welcome in England you mug
WHY ??? Such a fuss about crap fishing ...whoever named them got the letters in the wrong order ...pointless fish unless as goldfish ...like fighting with a log ..no fight ...mind numbing fuss for poor fish .and that tree trunk with rope on it ,,ridiculous and senseless 'fishing'..go and catch real fish like salmon or trout ...
Everyone has an opinion, you’ve had yours. Probably be better off watching salmon and trout fishing videos rather than a commercial carp video. Strange you’d come on to content like this to criticise something you have no interest in.
Don't knock it until you've tried it. If you have tried it and still don't like it, think on - if every carp / coarse angler suddenly gave up and switched to game fishing, you'd find your favoured venues so crowded and overfished it would cease to give you any pleasure whatsoever. Either that or the law of supply and demand would make it very expensive. Thank goodness our choice of favourite pastimes is not the same as everyone else's.
Don't watch but then you'd have to find something else to moan about . Go and give the dog a kick instead
