You need to do a long term review of the coating ie miles/time sense coating any defects on the coating if any at the end of the time period like 3 months later to 6 months later and how you dove the car ie hard asf or normal driving conditions.
you probably dont care but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost my login password. I love any tricks you can give me!
@Travis Zahir I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Devin It’s awesome to see your channel growing so fast!! I remember when you had 10000 subs!! I have been along for the ride and it doesn’t surprise me how fast you are growing because your content is amazing and your personality and editing skills are excellent too!! The sky is the limit and I am glad I get to be a part of it all!! God bless ya brother!!🙏🏻😀🙏🏻
Ti bolts wont rust. They are a high friction metal and if they get self-seize or gaul?.... well trouble. If u have 2 Ti metal tube and rub them against each other with pressure there is a lot of friction. Do that same test with steel, copper or Aluminum and way less friction. Looks Good Tho!
Titanium is an excellent metal in high heat applications. The weight is similar to aluminum. I like ceramic coated exhaust manifolds and headers. I have a 2003 Ford Explorer with JBA ceramic coated headers. The under hood heat is very low. I thought the preferred method for curing the ceramic coating was oven baking.
Anything just painted always looks fantastic, but it's how long it lasts that defines whether it is a success. This video is now 8 months old so let's see how it looks now please... Also - it seems very strange to heat the manifold up to the correct temperature and hang it up, and then start unpacking the paint and gun whilst all the time the piece is getting cooler.
Get the mini hvlp spray gun from harbor freight it works so much better. Also next time get the oven cure cerakote. Only a couple extra steps. Blast it, acetone bath, degas, mix hardner and cerakote, spray, throw in oven at 200 degrees for 2 hours. Bolt on and ready to go. No waiting extra days to cure.
When I see you make the custom wrench now I understood why my dad brought them all back when he retired from aircraft maintenance, usable for cars too, thank you :D
Iv been watching and learning from your brothers dirt bike channel for years..really good dude and you seem to be to. Your parents did a good job rasing you guys.
@@georgesantizo4033 @deegan727 you wont find reviews or follow ups on Cerkoted headers, because even the pro's application fails within 6 months. Cerkot is a beatiful finish but not the product for me. C series, V series, garnet sand, 100 PSI, gassing off, 15 min shake time, 5 day wait period, acetone baths. ultimately the color lightens over time, begins to micro fisher and soon after it will flake
Does this actually act as real ceramic coating? Like keeping the thermal heat in better then as if bare metal? Has the paint held up well to the elements over the months?
Surprised you didnt cut or grind the top manifold studs shorter on the head side of the studs so aesthetics remain the same but wrench clearance is opened up
The "old ball and chain" is going to absolutely love me baking my engine parts in her spotless kitchen 😳🙄😆 1st I will be searching for a video on diy body armor in the interest of self preservation.
Hi, thank for the video. is the black color slowly degraded to grey or still in good color during uses. i believe you have use the manifold more than a month
Did you bake the parts after applying the Cerakote? Every video I've seen the parts were baked after applying the Cerakote. The instructions say to do that. So at least that's what the UA-camrs say in their videos.
If my headers are brand new out the box, is sandblasting still necessary, or can I just get away with just cleaning them with acetone? Thanks for the video 👍
If devin would have thought about how sharp the tip of the wrench was, after dremel cutting, a machinist would have deburred the tip to keep from scratching the ceramic.
Hi Devin. Just want to know if I can use the cerakote inside the car on the door panels handels / vinyls and front dash? Is it smelly? For inside under the sun after dried? As I park the car outside. Please let me know.
Nice video. You had your vice grips turned the wrong way. The teeth won't bite in backwards. I'm gonna give this a shot on my ex manifolds. Those studs look fresh
Why would you ask us if your should keep if silver/crome and paint it black and then say im just gonna paint it black. I hate when ppl ask and then say im just gonna do it this way
The sentence I wanted it to be a cheap project so every one can do it is exactly what makes your channel and you brilliant

@Karson Ronnie happy to help xD

That engine bay setup is straight up dope, awesome, love the titanium bolts for the exhaust manifold!!!

How does Ceramic coating on exhaust hold up after a few years?
good question, m experience is it does not hold up.
Get the mini hvlp spray gun from harbor freight it works so much better. Also next time get the oven cure cerakote. Only a couple extra steps. Throwback to baby Devin! Thanks for helping me today with cerakoting my headers 🤙🏻 miss that evo 8
I got the regular titanium studs as well, highly recommended for sure. The burnt blue looks great.
It’s the smallest details that are awesome looks badass bro
I thought you were going a bit overboard at first putting so much effort into the hardware. But it does look good with the other accents. I'm sold.
When I see you make the custom wrench now I understood why my dad brought them all back when he retired from aircraft maintenance, usable for cars too, thank you :D

Been here since 15k subscribers 🤘🏼
One of the best contents on UA-cam!
The best looking screws I've seen.
How did this coating hold up? I’m interested in doing this to my entire hot side on a turbo LS.
I guess he doesn't answer questions

Yes it does help thermally. I doubt his application held up though. You really have to get rid of the oils trapped in the casting before you coat it.
Great job Devin, love the look of the manifold with the hardware. Really like that you do your own work. Enjoy the videos as always.
Looks way better, I'd ditch the heat shield unless it effects performance
You need a crow's-foot for doing the nuts you can't get to. Good info, thanks for posting.
Crow's foot are life savers. A must have! Even a flare nut wrench can be another option.
I recommend u upgrade your radiator before it starts to split open at the top, by the bends/seems!
Thanks for the video, I am wondering after over two years, how did they perform? I am working on my Camaro Z28 in the UK :)
Curious as well.
@Devin Niemela How is that cerakote holding up? Great Video
Content just keeps getting better and better #LIT
Man that looks great! I am custom building a BMW R1200. Can I get custom studs for my exhaust?
So can you give some feedback on how the Cerakote held up???
No answers
That engine bay only gets better and better. Looking sweet with the new hardware
Surprised you didnt cut or grind the top manifold studs shorter on the head side of the studs so aesthetics remain the same but wrench clearance is opened up
Bought a crap ton of stuff for my car on the way, headlights and tails should be next so lets get #LIT

Hi, thank for the video. is the black color slowly degraded to grey or still in good color during uses. i believe you have use the manifold more than a month
I mean if your Devin Niemela, what can’t be done to your car at home?
"home"
yeah, right
@@ARTiiK well... I suppose his home is more the size of a castle!

The bolts are a game changer in did, check out Cameron's bike, that bike is so sexy🔥
Bolts looks dope
Cerakote is a great product. I cerakoted an AR last night amazing results.
how well did the coat hold up?
Black heat shield looks sweet.
Wow I came on UA-cam to see if I could coat a manifold myself, just to find out that the manifold are coating is the exact same one I am coating lol
Great Video I have been wondering how to do this on a budget for a while! The Ti hardware are really x2 nice!
You need to lock tight the new studs in. There is an oil galley behind them and it will leak oil from them
looks so much better now
If my headers are brand new out the box, is sandblasting still necessary, or can I just get away with just cleaning them with acetone? Thanks for the video 👍
Can’t wait to see how this Evo turns out!!!
#LIT
Your channel is wicked and you personally come across really well love your content always a good day when you post a new vid.
I don't blame you about the bolts. It's the little things
Why couldn't you use the open end side of wrench to tighten top nuts instead of cutting box end?
Shouldn't you block the ports of the manifold? Anyway it looks way better than before.
It's been 2 years. What does this manifold look like now?
If devin would have thought about how sharp the tip of the wrench was, after dremel cutting, a machinist would have deburred the tip to keep from scratching the ceramic.
they make custom wrenches like that with the cutout called crowfoot wrenches
11:40 you used a cutoff wheel to modify the closed side of your wrench to look like the open side of your wrench? What am I missing here??
#lit 🔥🔥 congrats on 100k bro 500k is next☝🏽☝🏽☝🏽
I can’t wait to see you finish up the evo 8 #lit
Congrats again on 100k! #LIT
Nothin but love dood! Been here since 15ish k subs dood you’ve grown fast, literally , my favorite car channel on UA-cam

Your car looks awsome. But you should really do a bike build with cameron.
#lit can’t wait for your restock bro✊🏼
I noticed you have a Finnish last name so greetings from Finland. Nice video!
You have some of the best cinematics! #lit
omfg I need that manifold hardware set... take my money
Stock manifold has so much room to work around compared to my twin scroll lol
Any chance you could show me the kit you used to remove the bolt? Kinda have a similar situation currently
#Lit keep up the work! Congrats on 100k!
What size bottle was that you had there?, a pint or a quart of cerakote??
a pint goes a long way. it is so thin, like skim milk
Good looking engine bay so far keep it up update your hoses and etc while your at it !
#LIT CONGRATS ON 100k!
How does it last?
Is that ceramic coating or powder coating?
The headers come up hot 🔥🔥🔥great job
Congrats again man!🎉 #LIT

Does cerakote gets mixed with a solvent or used pure ?
#lit awesome video man I love those lights just got some fog lights for my car could really use that to go with it
🔥🔥🔥 as always bro!
Sprays Ceracoat with the car just feet away...lol
#LIT That engine bay is looking cleannn
aren't you supposed to bake it after its painted?
Your girlfriends gonna be impressed when she sees her exhaust painted
Why didn’t you just use the open end of your wrench...?
Good work devin 👍🏽
Those light are #lit
curious how much product was used to paint the manifold
How did the coating hold up?
Consider some kind of steady cam. I appreciate the video but it's hard to watch.
Why would you ask us if your should keep if silver/crome and paint it black and then say im just gonna paint it black. I hate when ppl ask and then say im just gonna do it this way
Hey man love the videos keep it up but I have a question or a request. Can u do a Chevrolet impala 2005 transformation vid
Is it possible to spray paint cast iron?
#Lit keep doing you Devin! Awesome to see you got 100k subs
How long did the ceramic coat last?
