Would you buy the Cooper S or the Cooper Electric>?
I would go with the S. I don't want an electric car until the technology improves, and only one that can at least go 300 miles before it needs to be charged. 400 miles would even be better. I also don't want a car built in China like the new Cooper electric will be.
Since a manual trans isn’t an option anymore… Electric for me
@@davcuts2897that will change soon, GWM is only starting production, but Oxfords moving to build the electric J01 there in a couple years.
I think I may buy a 2023 model on sale instead.
@@potatochobitwe just bought a mini cooper s current generation top spec model - got thousands off. Nice car - from what I’ve seen online the new mini appears more cheaply made and frankly not as ‘mini’ like, seems to have a tesla look and feel to it which I don’t find attractive.
cooper S without dual exhaust pipes is big mistake
Just by the looks alone, I think the previous model is so much nicer. It has more character, appeal in this trim or the JCW. Don't bite me, only my opinion😥

@user-bq5cs5oe5x well, if found the previous model not that elegant inside. Too crowded, not harmonious enough. Big mix of plastic, leather and métal. Now it looks more sophisticated imo
I think not incorporating the flush door handles is a huge miss. And no manual or external exhaust is frustrating.

I get, it's newer more modern, but I'm glad my 2024 has a standard transmission.
I always wanted a mini in my garage, now i dont have to worry about it anymore, one less thing to buy. Glad bmw murdered it.
I dont know but these newer gen Mini Coopers are slowly losing their Mojo. To me my favourite will always be the original Classic and closely followed by the R56. Not really happy with all these “Modern Interpretations.”
I know, but times have changed a bit. So I guess they have to evolve somehow.
They've BEEN losing their mojo! Ever since the first gen R53 (02-06, I own one haha)
Why, why, why did Mini killed the exhaust pipes? A huge mistake!
What is the bonnet now if it is not a CLAMSHELL bonnet. No vent, but that is another matter, and not required.

absolutely horrendous 🤮🤮🤮 I was looking forward and saving my money to buy the next gen mini but honestly it looks like a cross over between the aygo and twingo.....Will either buy an older version or go look for another brand.....disgusting
Hold up for a second… The F66 DOES keep the clamshell… The Cooper S just loses the hood scoop, it’s the J01 electric car that’s completely different and lacks the clamshell hood… Likewise for the U25 Countryman and the upcoming J02 Aceman

Are they doing a four door? My wife has a fiat 500 and loves the size but is looking for something w 4 doors. Might have to go the countryman. I really like this one though.

Nobody ever mentions the loss of the fuel cap. Always loved that on the S and JCW models. Also big fail if you ask me

I love the design. Only thing they missed is the exhaust, otherwise I like it❤. Simple and clean , not over designed

Thanks for the look, it's hard to find reliable info about the F66 at the moment. Do you know if it's suitable for tall drivers? I'm 1,99m/6'6 tall and im wondering if I'd fit in
I covered that a bit in the review. I'm 6'2, so maybe 6'6 is a bit cramped. I do have about 3-4 inches of headroom, but again, I would probably sit in the car if you can. I will cover that again soon.

The old mini is still a much better size and design even my first mini a 1967 mini 850 with sliding windows had more storage in the back than the new one with a car half the size all car manufacturers are making oversized cars.
I have a 2017 mini cooper s this new look and design horrible but the interior is nice
The cleaner look is more in keeping with the original. I always thought the previous BMW Minis were too fussy, so I like this new approach.

This car looks so ugly and disgusting fully ruined the mini icon design. The modern interpretation is foul and however the designer is needs to be fired!

They are definitely making these more lame. My F56 has a huge center exit exhaust. These - you can't even see the exhaust.
My new F66 goes into production in the next couple of weeks… and it DOES still have a CLAMSHELL bonnet/hood !!
The J01 electric model does NOT have a CLAMSHELL bonnet/hood.
Cleaning-up the design is a big improvement over my current F56 - I'm very happy that the exhaust tips have gone.
I know, I misspoke, was thinking about the differences between models, and wanted to point out the lack of a dome.
Not for me I'm afraid.
It doesn't have a bit of sportiness in it. So boring

The front is still ok, ‘mini-esque’… however the rear is atrocious. Sooo ugly. It looks like a Suzuki. Nothing wrong with a Suzuki by the way, but then save some money and just get a Suzuki instead of the mini that lost all its mojo.
Fair enough. What bothers you the most inside? Materials? Design? OLED?
