2025 Mini Cooper S POV Review! Is It A Complete Redesign?

- Today, thanks to Mini of South Miami, I was able to film the all new 2025 #Mini #Cooper S (F66). The new generation isn’t completely new as it rides on the same chassis as the previous generation. Nonetheless, the Cooper features a new exterior design that is more inline with the new Mini design language. We also get the new interior design that we first saw on the Countryman especially with that new large 9.4 Inch OLED Touchscreen display.
As for Powertrain, the Cooper S comes with the brands 2.0T 4 Cylinder that makes 201 HP and 221 Lb-ft of Torque linked to a 7 Speed DCT. The Cooper is still FWD only which is a great thing for that Go-Kart feeling.

My aunt had the 2016 base mini cooper with all the extra trim features such as extra speakers, and white stripes, which she has now passed down to me. she now has this model and it's really nice looking I got to see it in person.
I love the new gen Minis. They remind me more of the 00s Mini, not as nice as the classic, but still charming, smart and fun!

I really want to like this but they really dulled down the S. No hood scoop, no center twin exhaust pipes, no paddle shifters or manual. Shame.
Completely valid points. I know for a fact that the Cooper JCW will have the hood scoop, Rear spoiler, one center tailpipe and paddle shifters.

This is exactly how I feel- it feels like they’ve lost their fun design spirit- some aspects I like but overall it looks like they just put melted cheese over the previous gen 😥
I’m glad they introduced common sense safety features that have been missing from their lineup for a decade but idk- the want isn’t there like with previous generations - I’m hoping with time I’ll come to appreciate it but we shall see 😭
I was given a brand new 3 door Cooper model from my local BMW dealer for today while my 1 Series was in for a recall and I really like the styling inside and out.. The performance was good but the rear space is non existent for adults, but I didn't care as I was the only one in the car. Great car if you want something fun and different to all of the bland cars that are out there. It was as great to drive on the twisty UK roads as my M Sport 1 Series that I absolutely love driving on these same roads.

15:07: you can make the floor of the boot flat. The cover for the hidden compartment pops up and lays parallel with the rear seats folded down. I’m sure this new mini will still have that option like previous model years
It has an adjustable height boot floor in the UK.... guessing it will be the same for you guys too

I drove the 2 door S. It was such a fun drive! I love the infotainment center. All of the customizations and fun drive sold me. Im driving a 2019 civic ex. I ordered my 4 door Cooper S now and can't wait to drive it again. 😅

Did the 2-door doors feel long and heavy? Did you have to reach far back for seat belt? I'm debating b/n the 4 and 2 door
@dg7438 it didn't feel heavy , I don't recall reaching back for the seat belt. Go by and check it out. 4 doors are still not out yet though...

Literally the took away all the characteristic design features that I’d hat since the first generation cooper s. A real shame.
It’s gotten so ugly and now it looks like a Tesla inside. At least you can get a HUD, unlike the Tesla.
I’ve had mine for a few months now. My 5th Mini. It’s still quick and handles great. My biggest gripe is that material on the door panels. It’s like a cheese grater if you like to put your arm up there with a t-shirt on! Not a pleasant design at all. Also be aware the “dynamic” cruise control isn’t very dynamic and not the same as adaptive cruise control. Apparently my sales person didn’t known that which was a disappointment to me. I was hoping there would be a software download to get that, all of the sensors are in place, but I’m out of luck with that.

Very much like the Cooper EV that will come out soon in Europe. I’ve noticed that non performance models for the BMW group will have the exhaust hidden while JCW or M performance models will get the Exhaust outlet

I fucking hate a lot of these new cars that have pop-up, above the dashboard instrument clusters. Careless, and lazy design.

In my eyes, the final version of Mini is stuck at R56.
Same car as the F56 but with less interior quality. Hard plastics all arround. More screens less quality. The way off the future.
Basically that’s what it is! Looks and feels a whole lot better!
I don't like what they did. Its a Cooper S and yet looks like a base Mini One like we have here in Europe. Lacks the things that olders Cooper S had that make them special.

I’m surprised you didn’t speak of the omission of the hood scoop, (which is ok) and the omission of the tailpipes which is a sin in the enthusiast car world. The tail lights don’t match the character of the car….it looks Japanese now. Overall it looks less aggressive. ☹️ Other than that it’s nice, especially the interior.
I actually forgot to mention those two things. I’ll state that disprove that the Hood vent is gone and exhaust outlet. They seem to be keeping those for the JCW models unfortunately.

My bad. Years ago when I was buying a car I was looking at getting a JCW Knight Edition but ended up getting an X2 M35i which I regretted it because the Coopers feel more fun to drive

The chasis isn't the same actually..it's been tweaked to be more refined and comfortable

No longer a feature on the S. Paddles will come with the JCW but Exhaust is down to 1 pipe
It’s gonna have to be a manual transmission. I can’t get into the push button transmission thing.

Open the drivers door and there is nothing that made the previous mini fun and feel special. all there is now is hard plastic everywhere. And a central screen that was on the first minis😒. Better hope that doesn't fail or you wont be able to use any controls in the car. The front being all painted will be a super stone chip magnet. and the back lights🤦♂. Guess i won't be changing my jcw anytime soon.

Sadly. In Europe you can get a JCW package on the model to feature more aggressive looks but you don’t get an exposed exhaust or hood scoop. The true JCW will have a single center exhaust tip
