    Congrats on your car! Sapphire blue is a great choice.
    Things that I like in RS trim:
    Brembo calipers and Recaro seats of course. Also, I like that no sunroof. This is personal preference but I never use sunroof and I’d prefer more headroom and less weight.
    Things that I am not thrilled:
    I dont like the wheels. They look too busy for my liking. Also I wish they were 18s instead of 19. That way I could use stock wheels for winter tires and I could get nice light weight 18 wheels. Winter tires for 19 are limited and more expensive. Also, spare tire is a must for me. Extra expense to get the spare tire that is available in lower trims here in Canada. RS does not come with HK sound system. It seems like Subaru Canada wanted to save some money there. It’d be nice to have lumbar support like in Sport tech seats but I guess thats the price of having Recaros. Also I see Sport tech trim has heated rear seats but but not in RS. At least they kept the charging ports at rear.
    I have a 2020 wrx and I’d consider VB wrx, especially RS trim. I just wish they would do a quick refresh for the rear bumpers in 2025. I dont mind plastic fender flares.

    Fun fact... when Subaru placed the order for the Recaros, brembos, 19in rims..they were meant for the 2022/23 STI but when Subaru canceled the 2022/23 STI, they had all these brembos, recaros, 19in rims already ordered, paid for and couldn't cancel those orders so subaru ended up using them on the 2024 WRX TR and the 2022+Limited WRX.

    Former VA STI wonder. Had the last model made a 21 and 1000 of the last built. Originally wanted a TR but I don’t like eyesight and how intrusive it is to live with. Having to constantly turn it off gets annoying. The motor on the VB is by far its best feature. I opted for a 23 limited because I got it for under invoice vs a TR due to eyesight and eyesight alone. Wish climate control was actual physical buttons to turn and or press but oh well. The only thing I would add to this car to make it more or less the STI we all wanted is the transmission and differentials, and the brembos. Maybe a better oil pan and pickup design or something along the lines of a dry sump system. Driving the VB feels familiar in the way it feels close to the VA STI.. over all I say this is by far the best wrx Subaru has made, and I’m sure it would have been the best STI had it ever made it to production. We can all thank the climate cultist for ruining the VB STI for us.

    • @fadmap9676
      @fadmap9676 25 днів тому +1

      You can thank Bidens build back worse plan for canceling the 2023 STI, it had nothing to do with climate. It was the result of post covid national and international infrastructure issues, i.e part supply shortages, labor shortages, raw material shortages and increase in labor and materials. Subaru saw that the cost vs. benefit exceeded STI demand, so they kept the cheaper model WRX and hiked up the price of the WRX MSRP to exceed the STI MSRP from previous generation prices to maintain a profitable margin on the WRX line.

    Love your super informative video! I live in Toronto and I am thinking about getting a 2024 WRX RS. Will the suspension be too stiff for everyday driving?

    • @carswithsepp
      @carswithsepp  День тому

      Thanks man! If you’re coming from a previous gen STI or WRX, the suspension shouldn’t feel out of ordinary, but if you currently have a car that has a softer suspension, getting into this will feel pretty stiff. Some friends and family members are not huge fans of how the suspension feels over bumps. I drive this to work and back every day and it’s manageable but I wouldn’t say it’s comfy.

      Id say it really depends what you want. Both are good daily drivers but the WRX is less track ready but better for commuting imo. So if you want a track/project car, I personally would go with an STI. If you want a do-it-all car, the wrx is a good pick

      @carswithsepp  23 дні тому +1

      That’s a tough question. I may make a video on all the thoughts I have when it comes to modding. Aesthetically, no doubt this car can use some changes. In terms of power mods, it’s a risk vs reward thing. The FA24 makes awesome power with very little modifications, but, in doing so the warranty is thrown out. As this is my only car I’m not as comfortable throwing performance parts on it, compared to someone who may have this car as their weekender car. One mod I can see myself doing soon is some sort of catback, maybe AWE touring.
