    A humidifier is a GAME CHANGER. I can’t recommend it enough, let it rain on your face at night! I have mine running constantly, I’m so dehydrated and battle it constantly. Really moisturize thickly a few nights a week too.

    The best hydration is fruit. All fruits are good, but include watery fruits, watermelon, pineapple, oranges, etc. The hydration from fruit is superior to water. We are meant to eat our water. It is structured water, combined with the fiber, and countless phytonutrients. Your body is meant to run on fruit. Next best would be lemon water and plain water. People will be hydrated, then go on to eat high protein, high fat meals that lack water, then have to guzzle down bottles of water to rehydrate again. Eat like we were meant to, cut out the fat and high protein. I always had severe dry, and dehydrated skin. This is what will fix it permanently.

    I absolutely agree that less is more when you are having skin issues. My skin goes crazy if I try to get too many different things into my routine. I’m oily but I don’t really use cleanser for oily skin most of the time. I have 3 cleansers because sometimes it needs a gentle cleanser for dry skin and sometimes I feel like I need a bit better cleanse so I use Effaclar or Panoxyl.

    “You look tired”. Oh gawd I’ve heard countless times at every age. What an insult. I spent a lot of time in front of a mirror to see it in myself. figured it out - the shape of my eyes & eyelashes turned down a bit. My Point is, don’t insult folks. If you think they could benefit from a skin care and you have the right relationship, give them a skincare gift. Leave it to the professionals like dr Sam!!!

    THANK YOU FOR NOT SAYING HYALURONIC ACID😡 I am so angry. I tried to incorporate ha into my routine and it absolutely sucked all the minimal moisture out of my skin. I wake up with tight, painful, rough af skin which is so frustrating!! It may work for some people but the negative side effects are enough to warrant a disclaimer especially when it's marketed towards people with dry skin issues. This is my rant. Stay away from hyaluronic acid if you struggle with dry skin/you live in a dry area/it's winter!! Your face will be irritated and dryer than the sahara💀

    I've really wanted to use some form of vitamin A in my routine but I just can't find one I like that's effective AND affordable. The majority of the over the counter stuff just isn't effective on my very oily but easily sensitised skin. And then Differin did nothing for my congestion whatsoever. Epiduo worked better for my skin texture and blemish control but after prolonged use, benzoyl peroxide compromises my skin barrier. The other NHS prescribed forms of vitamin A all have an antibiotic, which my skin hates. It seems like my only options are to either go private and pay for a fortune for just prescription strength retin a/ tretinoin without antibiotic, pay a fortune for medik8 crystal retinal in the highest strength, or discontinue use of any vitamin A altogether. A real shame as I know it promotes collagen production and at 27 years old I really wanted to incorporate it into my routine

    • @DrasticEvasion
      @DrasticEvasion 2 роки тому

      Have you tried salicylic acid? It comes in many vehicles wash, moisturiser, serum or toner. How long were you trying out on differin? How long were you using epiduo? You sound very switched on :) also vitamin c has been shown to generate collagen 👏 soo all is not lost ✌️ 😃

    • @DrasticEvasion
      @DrasticEvasion 2 роки тому

      Also, the nhs can give you tretinoin cream, if they deem you suitable via a dermatologist referral... The antibiotic is an oral medication so therefore it's upto you whether you take it or not... They're prescribed together because it's been shown they're more effective when taken/used together :)

    • @crc6166
      @crc6166 2 роки тому

      you can use adapalene and peroxide benzoyl separately so if you need less of it you can just use it in certain areas

    • @smiah7898
      @smiah7898 2 роки тому

      @@DrasticEvasion the tretinoin cream that is available on the NHS also contains a topical antibiotic! Which can lead to antibiotic resistance and then ends up making the treatment ineffective, in my case anyway. I have tried salicylic acid and I swear by it. But really wanted a topical vitamin a as I feel I should be looking into preventing ageing at this point. But as I’m not willing to pay for a private derm for a better tretinoin than the nhs offers, or pay for the medik8 product, it looks like I will be trying vitamin c instead. I already have my eye on a few I’d like to try! X

      A little heads up might be to give your retinols more time to work. I was told the effects of Differin would kick in about a few months. By around half a year I truly saw visible differences which the retinol upheld! I would suggest trying again but being more conscious that a few weeks on retinols will genuinely not do anything for you but it is a game of longevity really.

    My skin has a very strange condition which I am unable to find a clue to. It looks very healthy and has even a light natural glow, but it FEELS very tight and dry and even a bit burning deep inside on my forehead, what is very unpleasant. I think my skin type is normal with a slight tendency to oiliness in t zone. I'm 41, have no acne, not too many wrinkles, even skin tone, no marks or scars. I guess that my forehead skin is dehydrated, but I am not even sure anymore. I have an impression that the moisture does not pass through my skin somehow, because it does not look like dry skin and can be even a bit oily on my forehead, but at the same time it feels tight deep inside. I live in Italy, so the climate is warm and humid almost all year round, however I also use a humidifier. I do not use any foundations or heavy make-up. Never tried any retinol or exfoliating acids in strong concentrations. Just PHA toner (recently finished, so no product hopping really) and Dr. Sam's Neutralising gel every second or third night. Tried to simplify my routine to a cleanser, a moisturizer and a sunscreen, which I use every day with no exception. The problem has lasted for 8-9 months for now. Please someone help me to understand what my problem is and how it can be solved? Thank you

    • @TanyaFra

      @@connieguignaud2201my skin condition has improved, but I cannot say that I managed to fix it unfortunately. It got better when I started to cleanse it with a gel in the morning. Before that I only rinsed my face with tap water in my morning routine. Dr. Sam's serums and sunscreens were useful too to improve my skin, but it still feels tight and dry even if it looks quite fresh and hydrated. I feel like it is very dry and/or dehydrated in some deeper invisible layers. I do not really know how to better describe that sensation

    • @TanyaFra
      @TanyaFra 11 місяців тому

      @@joanshealy1662maybe it is. I use Dr. Sam's Nightly Pro serum, but very carefully and very rarely applying it directly to my skin. Normally I buffer it with a good thick moisturizer for dry skin. Something like Avène Hydrance rich. I use Ordinary's lactic acid once or twice a week too. But I did not use any actives at the moment I wrote my first comment and actually I do not feel like my skin condition worsened with actives. It has definitely improved. I am really satisfied with how my skin looks. I do not like how it feels at all because it feels very dehydrated and tight inside. I take Omega 3 and vitamin D by the way. But they make no changes either I am afraid
