Would love to see some content about dry skin & acne. Everything about acne is geared toward oily skin. Info about products to use, how to know if we have combination skin or just dry skin with acne, etc. would be super helpful.
I have super dry flaky skin and acne too. What seems to help is applying the spot treatment on acne and then layering moisturizer on top to avoid the drying caused by the acne treatment.
I've seen a couple derms with videos on dry skin/acne like Dr Dray and The Budget Dermatologist. Another channel that's not a doctor channel is AliceintheRabbitHole and she has dry skin with acne and sometimes sensitive.
I use Avene mist, Aveno serum, Cocokind serum, Major Fade serum, Major Fade active seal, and Kiehls. Made such a big difference in my skin. I don’t always need the Kiehls.
Thanks doc! Early in the summer I developed a horrific rash on my cheeks, jawline and neck. I had used a new exfoliating serum and I believe I had an allergic reaction. I work in the medical field and wear a mask 12+ hours a day. Saw a derm 3 times, topical steroids, oral steroids, bought my own hypoallergenic masks. The oral steroids helped but only during the time I took them. As soon as i stopped taking it, the rash came back. My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 after a few months and i just stopped caring about my skin. Then a few weeks ago I saw your video on triple paste so I bought it. Within 3 days the rash wasn't visible anymore and my skin felt so much smoother to the touch. After a week the rash was gone. I am so grateful for your info. Now I can go back to having some much needed me time of taking care or my skin again. Thank you so much❤
Having her mention diffrent climates and diffrent skin types IS one of the KEYS. Wow. I used to copy others and then wondered ehays the problem! Because I'm oily in humid and too much for me!
You got me back to doing my two times a day skin care routine. I had a rough fall and winter due to a flare up of chronic pancreatitis. Some days, the most I could handle was a micellar water on a reusable cotton pad followed by a dollop of vaseline. Now, that my health has improved, I watched one of your videos and felt that spark again. Restarted my skincare routine and am enjoying taking some time for self care again. Thanks for the inspiration!!!❤
I used butt paste for 2 nights in a row now, so did my mom. We both LOVED IT! We both have really sensitive skin and it relieved it in moments. Also I had an issue with flakey skin on eyelids and nothing worked. But butt paste did! Thank you so much for this tip! Also thanks to your advice I’ve stopped using hyaluronic acid and suggested mom to minimize it to one product and it also helps with irritation. Thank you so much dr Idriss! ❤
Thank you for this video. Since discovering your videos 6 months ago, I’ve had the confidence to buy products that my skin needs rather than doing nothing because I didn’t understand what the products did. My skin is 1000% better. ❤
I love the focus on hyperpigmentation, however, would like to see more information about those with texture! I have your major fade system and it has helped me so much with hyperpigmentation. Thanks for making amazing products and educating us!!!

@@CamelliaWictorin me too, but I checked and it also comes in a small size - a 3 oz. tube, and also a 2 oz. tube, so it's a lot easier to try it out. If it's too heavy I figure I can always use it on my feet, or cuticles.
I love how you call out Utah in every video mentioning extra heavy moisturizers 😅 It explains so much about my skin issues & helps me realize that I def could be doing much more to help out my skin!
Loved this video, very helpful. I am 77, very dry skin, grew up in La Jolla when there was no such thing as SPF so I enjoyed the sun and deep tans until my 40s. I have used your system since you first came out with it and love it however I stopped the Hyperserum because my Derm put me on Hydroquinone +a number of other ingredients. I thought I was rounding the corner with the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks but then I noticed it looked like they were getting darker. I have stopped the hydroquinone and started back on the hyperserum. My next step may be CO2 laser because I don't know if the discoloration on my cheeks will reverse. I would love for you to do a video on this. Thanks for all of your helpful information, I was an RN for 40 years and worked at MDA in Houston so I have a deep interest in skin care and skin cancer prevention (I've had 4 skin cancers removed from my face and 2 removed from my body…..ugh!) Happy Holidays to everyone!

The worst part for me, is I had amazing skin in my youth, so I’ve had to really adjust.
It made so much sense to hear the triple paste recommendation and happy to know it comes in a tub. My dermatologist had recommended this years ago to help with horrible rashes under the breast especially in the summer, being menopausal and a 40DDD bra size. It's the only thing that worked for me. Thank you!

I wish you had this channel when I was in my 20’s! But it’s never too late! I live in Canada and couldn’t find the triple paste anywhere, so I went with the sudocrem. Thank you for your instructions. You keep me interested and help me navigate the confusing and sometimes overwhelming skin care brands. I am 68 and although I have always tried to do the best for my skin, I was often inconsistent. I cannot tell you the number of times I went to bed without washing my face. No more. Right now my biggest problem is hyperpigmentation so I am following your advice and using your products. I am looking forward to a better complexion in 2024.
Dr. Idriss, please satisfy my curiosity-are you a Soft Summer? You are always wearing colors that look absolutely dynamite on you. I’m continually impressed.
This was super helpful and i can’t wait to try this technique. I’m in my mid 40s and my skin has turned into a desert. Every thing I try makes my skin angry. I slather on moisturizers and top it all with Vaseline but 2 hours later my skin is tight and dry again 😢. I think I’ve been layering it all wrong. I’ll think this will be soooo helpful! Thank you for the breakdown! ❤
Shereene, I take back what I said about you not smiling, giggling or being corny in your current videos as opposed to before you got your practice and skin care line. You still got it girl! I still love following you on youtube. You're so helpful in all of your videos. I'm in a dry environment right now so I try to use cicaplast baume B5 and then vaseline or CeraVe Healing Ointment since it's another thick occlusive and has ceramides and a couple other benefits than just vaseline. I do use vaseline though. Love it to slug.
After layering actives at night, finishing w/La Roche Pose, my skin was still irritated the next day. Switching to the Triple Paste allows me to layer actives w/out irritation, amazing! Thank you for that!
Hi Dr Idriss!! I just found you yesterday. I watched this video, the one on how to wash your face, and made adjustments to my routine accordingly. I wanted to thank you! I am in my early 50’s and have dry sensitive perimenopausal skin that lives in a dry cold climate (Wyoming). I finally feel like I am hydrating my skin appropriately!
I swear by the miister and triple paste. Thank you for the hack to repair my dehydrated and peeling skin. After the first day I noticed significant hydration and after the 2nd or 3rd day it stopped peeling..
Can being sick make your skin more sensitive and dry? I was ill earlier this week and my face became SO tender! Now I'm hydrating as much as possible. Perfect timing for the video!
Just from my experience ( 7 years with severe -ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia ), where my whole system is chronically inflamed, I would say definitely yes. Although I've been pretty diligent my entire life with protecting and looking after my skin. NOTHING, combats the deleterious effects of chronic inflammation. Fine lines and wrinkles are appearing at a faster rate; skin is desert dry unless I do my 5 step layering routine. Also, I've noticed how much it speeds up the loss of pad pads. And like I heard Dr Idtiss once say (if I recall correctly): no skincare can really address volume loss, that requires treatment with a derm.
I enjoy your videos very much and you are lovely. Please don't forget you have another audience of older women, often with very dry skin (I'm 70) and still very interested in fashion and beauty for myself!
After watching your face basting video, I bought triple paste and LOVE it! My very sensitive, rosacea prone skin living in a cold climate and indoor heat has been so irritating and this has helped a lot! Thank you, Dr. Idriss - love your videos!
Hi Dr Idriss, love this thank you! If you use Retin-A, must that still go first, as it always says to use on clean dry skin, or can you first hydrate in the order shown without losing the Vitamin A efficacy?
Where does Tret fit in this lineup? Mature menopausal that just started hormone replacement and my face has erupted. I backed off the hyper serum and active seal as well as tret. Before that- peels, Musely, QURE to name a few. On break from hydroquinone. Been using cicaplast B5 on painful chin , cheeks & jawline. Faithfully use the bioderma micellar water to remove makeup followed by Aveeno calm & restore to cleanse. Faithfully use isdin sunscreen daily. Tried every full coverage foundation to COVER my horrible complexion but mid day it looks like it has separated from my skin. Setting powder makes it look dull and settles in wrinkles. I miss having hydrated dewey skin. Please do a video part 2 to this for older ladies like me that desperately need your advanced help!!
Love your information & delivery. In Canada, they have La Roche Posay’s cicaplast gel B5. Bought it by accident when there this summer. Since I have been taking your advice, my skin looks much better & haven’t used Botox since last fall. Thank you very much
Dr Idriss, THANK YOU THANK YOU for being so generous with your knowledge and expertise. I created a new playlist just for your videos that I want to watch over and over. This one was especially helpful and I’ve already sent a link to friends. ❤
I’ve had this regimen since residency. One night on call in the NICU all I had was a sample of triple paste. And ever since then it’s been my go to. Anytime I need the extra kick I add it back in.
Would love a video about how those with sensitive skin and/or mild rosacea can add the various actives, such as Azelaic acid, vitamin c, retinoid, hypochlorous acid, ?AHA into routine.
Hi, not sure this addresses your issue completely, but after many years of trying to track it down, I eventually got hold of It's Skin LI Effector 10 (blue bottle). It's a serum without a huge ingredients list (glycerin and licorice root included), and I've found it to be almost miraculous at coming redness and inflammation. It's also crazy cheap ' approx $18AUD a at the time zi purchased.
Great, clear video. I love how YOU show other products rather than constantly going on about your own products (which I hope to pick up when I’m next in the U.S. in answer to your question, the visual was very helpful.
Dr thank u so much! Not only for this video but for the one on hands, I work in a house cleaning and my hands were all cracked and hurt. I applied your wise advice and in just ONE DAY 😮 , my hands were wayyyy better so thank you. ♥️♥️♥️
HAHAHAH ! The scene with the Evian water made me laugh to tears ! Despite the video being very good at informing and educating us, you have a hell of a humour, I love your videos, your sense of humour really makes you stand out from the other dermatologist youtubers ...
Hello Dr. Idriss, Can you please share skincare tips for people with acne prone but dry skin. How to keep skin hydrated at the same time preventing break outs. Also, is glycerin fine to use for acne prone skin? Thank you!
Please do a video about skincare for swimmers. I'm 61 and swim in an outdoor chlorinated pool regularly. Swimmers love to swim, but we don't like the drying, itchy effects of chlorine--not to mention the stress on the delicate eye area creating raccoon eyes from wearing goggles! What can we do other than wear sunscreen??
Ive been uaing that diaper rash cream and i absolutely LOVE it!! I mix a whole container of that with a whole container of either vaseline or CeraVe healimg ointment! I use on my entire family during these harsh Chicago winters at night!
I finally broke down and bought the hyper serum! I don't have wrinkles yet, so I think what's aging me the most is hyperpigmentation. I'm looking forward to the results!
LOVE this video. It is literally what I need right now! Any chance you would be willing to share the actual recipe for your diy mist? And one question - how do I incorporate my tretinoin within this routine at this time of year? Thank you so much for all you bring to us. 💛
This is amazing! I have dry skin and live in a dry climate (Colorado). I’ve never been able to find a way to make my irritated skin feel better. I need an occlusive! Definitely going to give this a try. Thank you!
How about face oils? Is it right to assume that they stand in the place of Vaseline or butt cream? I love using a blend of shea butter and other oils (no water).
Hi! Dr. Idriss would love if you make a video directly for people suffering whit mild Rosácea! What to avoid and products that are good for it! Thank you❤
Great video! Love the visual images. I wish you had added in the morning vs nighttime usage. Such as Adding in sunscreen instead of some of the latter steps etc.
I’m over 55. I use retina on my face for cystic acne. Can I layer vitamin C or a moisturizer? I’m clueless about what to do. I’m new to ur channel and love it. Thanks for the help.
The triple paste a.k.a diaper paste has been a game changer for me ever since I saw Dr. Idriss recommend it. I use her serum, then the active seal, and I finish that with the triple paste.
Do you "wash" your face in any way in the morning after using this layering technique and triple paste at night? It's still very thick and 'greasy' when I wake up in the morning.
6:24 Hi Dr. Idriss 😊, is there a certain amount of time that you must wait when applying each product? I’ve heard many things and read so many articles, it gets confusing.
Perfect for me…. I have the active seal…. Want to finish up my AnteAGE md. Enzyme which I believe is like yours when finished I will get yours. You are the best out there DR.I… you’re a joy and a so smart and logical about skin care.
Thank you Dr. Idriss for this video, I love the focus on hyperpigmentation but to get "Glass" skin, people with texture such as orange peel texture or overall unevenly skin, these stuff won't help much if any at all. Like really, i probably have tried almost everything to look younger + delay aging but as much as possible, anything from face exercises, vitamin C serum, Fraxel, collagen supplements and of course Retin A (7 years straight), home devices and what not. However, nothing made any real difference compared to the high-quality derma pen I purchased for around 100 bucks. Within 3 months of use, my skin has improved DRAMATICALLY. I don't look like I'm 18 again, but definitely not 42 either. My fine lines have disappeared completely, and my nasolabial folds are way less are nonexist, didn't have that kind of "glow" and glass of skin for many years. People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin, I strongly suggest to create videos about that.
Wow , such great info! I am pushing 70 and am going to try some of the thicker moisturizers. I used a butt paste for my daughters called A and D. My midwives always filled me in on more natural stuff for my babies. I live in Grass Valley(Northern CA). It gets dry in the winter when it’s not raining. I use your products and love them. My friend now does too since I told her about them.

I can’t thank you enough for actively disclosing your own products. Doing that so often actually makes me want to try them more😂
Hi Dr Idriss!!
Yes, it absolutely can
Mine becomes drier and hyper itchy when my thyroid acts up. Happens when I have a viral infection.
I had either food poisoning or the stomach flu - unsure. But WOW did my face get red and sensitive once the crisis had passed.
This was an excellent tutorial. I’m 57 but still fairly oily in the summer when it’s humid. In the winter(Chicago) everything changes.
This is exactly my question too! Do we start with Retin A and then wait before continuing? Thank you.
Love your information & delivery. In Canada, they have La Roche Posay’s cicaplast gel B5. Bought it by accident when there this summer.
Since I have been taking your advice, my skin looks much better & haven’t used Botox since last fall. Thank you very much
Dr Idriss,
THANK YOU THANK YOU for being so generous with your knowledge and expertise.
I have extremely sensitive skin and the triple paste works wonders for my skin during this dry winter. Thank you Dr.
Triple paste made me breakout. Second ingredient is petroleum 😮
@@erinkieley7747darn this is what I was worried about…I’d really like to try it but sounds like it’s a pore clogger
@@erinkieley7747 that's what I'm afraid of.
that blouse is everything.
It's also crazy cheap ' approx $18AUD a at the time zi purchased.
azelaic acid is a must for rosacea
Have you checked out her sensitive skin videos?
Excellent, informative video from a 75 yr old woman. Always searching to tackle dry wrinkley aging skin. ❤
You always come through with my skin concerns at the perfect time! Thank you for educating us Dr Idriss!
HAHAHAH ! The scene with the Evian water made me laugh to tears ! Despite the video being very good at informing and educating us, you have a hell of a humour, I love your videos, your sense of humour really makes you stand out from the other dermatologist youtubers ...
What a beautiful speech at the last 20 seconds about empowering each other! Love your video about all the knowledge you share with everyone!!
This is the first time I have ever seen you. You have a wonderful sense of humor - I am laughing while Im learning!
I started following your videos and my skin has never looked so better. I have such a good routine because of you.
Do you think you will be able to ship your products to Europe in 2024? ❤
Hey, I was wondering does Tretinoin stop oil production? Does oil help skin stay younger?
good question
LOVE this video. It is literally what I need right now! Any chance you would be willing to share the actual recipe for your diy mist? And one question - how do I incorporate my tretinoin within this routine at this time of year?
Thank you so much for all you bring to us. 💛
There is a recipe in her recent winter video
We use zinc oxide in nursing on wounds and inflamed skin, great stuff!
I use it on wounds and they heal faster
Omg Shereen can you pls stop being so beautiful and attractive all the time!
Thank you again and again. I have watched this 3x and saved it. I have several of these.
Love your videos. You look at least 10 years younger❤
Will be happy to see a video on The Ordinary products, and how to layer them.
Thank you.
Love you Dr Idriss! Thanks for all the educational skin care, I am on a better and healthier skin journey alongside your own!
✋🏻 lives in Utah with extremely dry skin. Ordered the triple paste SO fast!! Thank you for your videos!!!
You always come through with my skin concerns at the perfect time! Thank you for educating us Dr Idriss! 😍🙌🏻💕
🙌🥰
I’m over 55. I use retina on my face for cystic acne. Can I layer vitamin C or a moisturizer? I’m clueless about what to do. I’m new to ur channel and love it. Thanks for the help.
Perfect timing for this video! So grateful for you sharing your expertise, Dr. Idriss.
YOU ARE THE BOMB! THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME... I APPRECIATE YOU. XOXO
The visual helps a lot!
I totally bought the triple paste that same day and shaped it on my face at night. The next day, my skin was smooth!!! 💯
Omg yesss!
Im going to buy it too :)
Thank you Dr. Shereene! I love your style as well. Could you also link what you wear in the video down below?
The triple paste a.k.a diaper paste has been a game changer for me ever since I saw Dr. Idriss recommend it. I use her serum, then the active seal, and I finish that with the triple paste.
Can you please do a layering routine for rosacea, and one for anti aging loss of elasticity?
The triple paste is magic!! Thank you!
🙌
Do you "wash" your face in any way in the morning after using this layering technique and triple paste at night? It's still very thick and 'greasy' when I wake up in the morning.
can you cover more scalp health issues? thanks your videos are perfect🥰
Thank you! Making note!
So happy I found you and really appreciate your no nonsense approach ❤
6:24 Hi Dr. Idriss 😊, is there a certain amount of time that you must wait when applying each product? I’ve heard many things and read so many articles, it gets confusing.
Where does a vitamin c serum fit into this and how can we use it without exposing it to water?
Perfect for me…. I have the active seal…. Want to finish up my AnteAGE md. Enzyme which I believe is like yours when finished I will get yours. You are the best out there DR.I… you’re a joy and a so smart and logical about skin care.
Very informative and the visual below was so helpful!
Hello Dr. Idriss, thank you for your guidance.
Can you please kindly share how to tackle skin tags?
Thank you ❤️
The triple paste makes miracles!
People often underestimate the power of wounding and the revolutionary effects it can have on the skin, I strongly suggest to create videos about that.
idk if it's only me but I've seen strikingly similar comment before
Perfect timing on this! I just got a bunch of stuff over black Friday and wasn't sure how to use.
