      Alan watts answers the questions. UG questions the questions and questions the answers. No questions no answers because all questions end up in wrong answers. But he excluded himself from this chain of stupidity not skillfully but one sidedly. He expects the world to shut it's ears to others stupidity and hear his stupidity.

    U.G. gets directly to the point and the reason why people are so attracted to what he says is because our own thoughts and mind won't allow us to see that the point is actually very simple.
    This is why U.G. would sit and yell at people because it's not a big deal and what he conveys is so simple. While he would scream and yell at these idiots, they would sit there in a deep silence, because their mind has tricked them (once again) into believing that they are going to get "something" from U.G.
    The mind is always searching for something else. It is never satisfied. When you identify with mind, you will only run in a torturous, endless circle!

    UG perhaps is the only person to have given a new perspective about life and existential truths ; he questions about the hereafter, enlightenment, soul, conciousness and so on ; on his own admission when he happened to stumble into that natural state unexpectedly, all his questions and experiences of the past borne out of the duality of thought were fleshed out of his system as it were and he had nothing more to look forward to in life, yet he was available to all who came to hear him on all topics ranging from the mundane to the existential truths and they all went back without being any wiser !

    All higher animals have culture. Look into the studies of Frans de Waal for evidence of this. I feel U. G. overstates his case sometimes.
    He was reluctant to talk about his past. But since he never claimed to be anything or offer anything then I guess I can't complain. Still, it would be interesting to know. It may help shed some light on him. Or perhaps not. People are what they are sometimes.
    5:00 "Where is this self that I have been searching for all my life, you see. It shatters everything." U. G. Spent his entire life searching for enlightenment but was bitterly disappointed not to be there when it happened.
    All he is saying is that there is no purpose, no spiritual quest, no goal. Simple, but people can't and won't accept it. The human mind seems determined to believe otherwise.

    • @borz5223
      @borz5223 2 роки тому +1

      By definition there appears to be no difference at all as definitions are merely an accepted interpretation of what, how, and why something seems to be. How to tell the difference between a real orange and a perfectly crafted imitation? It’s easy to look at an imitation from afar, recognize it as an orange and walk away. Thinkers may even look at the fake and ponder upon its nature and satisfy themselves with explanations without having taken a single step to actually see what it is for themselves.
      Nihilism is an attitude, a pessimistic conclusion drawn by logic and definitions to support a view about the world. A nihilist may have denied experiencing in his life the emotions and experience we call love, bliss, ecstasy, etc. An optimistic and hopeful person is one who stays stuck with these particularly positive experiences and demands more and more.
      UG was somebody that in his life went through both positive and negative experiences only to find that there is no difference between them; they are all experiences. It’s people and their particular labels and preferences that divide and make their own interpretations of an experience valuable and stick with that attitude. Eventually, he was said to come into a “state” where there is no mind, experience, attitude, or separation of any sort.

    I like this guy, but…UG fails to realize that time is not wasted on mediation and isolation if the end result is an ability like healing that can help other people. He also never acknowledges that through meditation you can aquire skills that can help yourself and others as well as knowledge of the unseen aspects of the universe that can do the same things. Not sure why he doesnt bring this stuff up.

Calling it calamity is really making some kind of mystical connotation to it. 'nothing happened. You read wrong books' is something you should have said since the beginning od your 49 age...
