    I had to go on a long journey before I was ready to hear this man. And when I was ready for him, he came into my life via UA-cam. The first time I saw him, I wondered who is this grumpy man that trashes other gurus/spiritual teachers? Then I gave him another chance and he blew me away. Now I’ve been listening to him non-stop for a week. He speaks truth.

      Exactly the same thing has happened to me. I rejected him once when I saw him by chance in UA-cam but 5 years long journey stopped when I gave him the second chance. My eye finally opened and the life changed completely. However I'm confused if it's bliss or curse.

But I fear that I am in a losing battle though . I must give up and be no body as we are supposed to be. On the contrary, Even being “nobody “ too now seems to be a taught aspiration. I call these videos , your dialogues as you are not preaching anything or giving a sermon. You haven’t offered anything but have taken away everything I had . This is both scary and beautiful feeling at the same time.

He's capable of original thoughts and ideas and probably the only one appeared in Indian sub continent out of the new age "theosophical" movement. He has very little to no room for rubbish. He takes nothing for granted and have no fear when it comes to question and attack our stupid traditions and beliefs and organized belief systems.

    • @O-Kyklop
      @O-Kyklop Рік тому

      yeah. This is part of the story. The body is primarily interested in sexual satisfaction. But, "interested" is still not the word, the body just works that way, loading up, feeling tension, discharging and relaxing. What happens during thee process is just determined by the particulars situation.
      Growing up yes, there is a stronger attention in survival and reproduction. Intelligent people know how to obstruct reproduction to enjoy sexual satisfaction further on. Or, as it happened to UGK, the whole physiology changes to work in the pattern of sexual satisfaction but without the attraction to the other gender, which is even more advantageous than the way we get it placed from Nature.

    41:48 is interesting, he says that the mind has to translate every sensation to maintain its memory. In other words, sensation keeps the mind going and the mind keeps sensations going.
    In June I decided to go to a buddhist meditation retreat, called vipassana, even though I knew that there would be things I couldn't swallow. I needed to be in silence and a group meditation helped me in that. The thing is that this sect of buddhism believes that the mind should observe sensation as a means of letting go of sensation desires and aversions. Now over 2 millenia after Buddha's death the world is still the same and the particular technique I was taught at the retreat in fact perpetuates mind by observing sensation while claiming it's getting anywhere ''healthier'' or free from misery. The technique at the retreat teaches some appealing principles and then loops the mind back with sensation under the belief that the sensation or suffering will disappear.... but it also taught not to be discouraged because it may take many lifetimes, but it fails to mention that it all comes full circle again by looping the mind producing something and observing it over and over. I noticed the belief to keep the mind game going is very clever and I like the way U.G. described it here in reference to my very interesting 10 day course.

    • @daithiocinnsealach1982
      @daithiocinnsealach1982 5 років тому

      But Vipassana is very helpful nonetheless. It at least quiets the mind and allows one to sort through the mountains of hurtful memories and destructive actions one has done. To really see them. Then I find everyone in that state comes to same clear conclusion about suffering. At the very least it does that. Reduces suffering.

    • @UnPluggingThePlayer
      @UnPluggingThePlayer 5 років тому

      @@daithiocinnsealach1982 i just now read your reply. I deeply appreciate your ideas. Thanks.
      After a few months of pondering and I agree with you that it provides a starting platform. I am very careful to look at core root and not just loop back into perpetuating the belief in reincarnation, or misery, for the sake of believing that it will be that way, has always been that way, and therefore it is that way... again, through a dominant focus.

    • @UnPluggingThePlayer

Uses philosophy when it suits him. When it doesn't he calls it rubbish. If we are just nature acting upon itself then stop arguing with people about it! It seems to me that when one ceases to harmonize what is disorganized, one simultaneously ceases to maintains social security. We didn’t come with the idea of disharmony unless there were individuals who acted upon their self interest and ignored the norms of the group, and as a consequence the group was doomed. Can someone explain me his point when he said that the idea of harmony is what created disharmony in oneself? Without laws and jurisdiction, predictable behavior of individuals is almost impossible. And without predictability, insecurity is almost inevitable. It seems to me that there’s contradiction between his words and the rise of civilization. In another words, I believe that civilization could stand because of the fact of harmonizing disharmony.

    I enjoy listening to him, but I study engineering and have taken high-level calculus, diff eq., etc., and I struggle with some of his presuppositions which aren't grounded in logic. It's easy to dismiss something without having to prove it. The example of the mathematics teacher and problems, etc., I can very much appreciate. However, if the mathematics of the universe always existed, people weren't always privy to the that knowledge. Men like Newton, Euler, Leibniz, Gauss, etc., had to painstakingly arrive at the mathematical equations, formulas, and processes we take for granted today. Therefore, the teacher teaching his students was also at one time a student and we can continue to trace this back to the originators of the sciences and the mathematics. So it stands to reason that information or knowledge is not absolute nor is the significance or value we associate with it; people learned because they asked questions they did not have answers to. For example, in evolutionary biology, memetics provides or attempts at providing explanations as to why we possess specific traits and or similar behaviors generationally. The knowledge of calculus isn't baked-in at birth; the majority of people are ignorant to it. Likewise, survival characteristics have shifted away from our environments: most people cannot identify poisonous plants or edible roots, hunt, fish, scavenge, etc. The human species simply do not exist in this technocracy as we did during the hunter-gatherer periods. Again, I'm not saying that there is any particular requisite "meaning" to having this information or knowledge i.e., it could be all nothing we're making into a something. However, I have to disagree with much of what he says about the attainment of it and its significance. People today, learn how to navigate the system and their material successes are largely predicated on their aptitude in doing so. However, again, there is a reliance on this system: the majority of people cannot survive without it. Therefore, most people would die because they have not learned, and those who learn - depending on how quickly they can do so, will survive. It's quite simple really.

      Except the utility of all that understanding has been the world we now inhabit with all its contradictions, yeah vaccines are great but we needed* them. So you need not list the great minds and their achievements; the half-educated is familiar with the canon. The real issue and test is to look at the results and then decide if the pathway has any value. A man can labor heroically at what has no ultimate value at all. Sure Newton locked himself away and brought us Calculus at perhaps great mental cost to himself but it only helped us predict more accurately the pathway for projectiles. There's no denying it - man has 'out-evolved' himself. Thought is useful up to a point; we passed that point perhaps at our bifurcation from the higher apes. I'm a software developer - technology is great, but there's a drone armed with enough fissile material to level half the globe in at least 5 countries, it IS a kind of progress.

    2. His calamity experience was some kind of neurological shock that brought a lost his mentalization (cognitive skill that we learn in childhood, "theory of mind" is called) so he was dettached of any true human experience, labelling himself just as an animal and breaking the basic notion of a conversation.

      meditationexpert (bill bodri) has a good analysis from the buddhist perspective of how u.g. came to his state. you can find it if you look for "meditationexpert mystique of enlightenment." basically, even though u.g. disavowed all techniques later, it was his practices in his youth that kick-started his kundalini process, which kept going even after he left the practices and eventually led to a partial enlightenment. while it's fun to listen to u.g. trashing everyone, i don't think that will lead many people to a similar state. the better course is to awaken kundalini and to let mind go when it's ready to let go of itself.

    As many people know, questions asked by 'seekers' are the product of their own system of thought which produces 'the problem' in the first place. It has been well explained by J. Krishnamurti that thought seeking to understand thought simply produces more thought. A dog chasing its tail. But this process is a logical and understandable consequence of being 'split' - i.e. most people experience themselves as a 'mind' (them) within a body (my body). This is true for them ... but only true because they have lost sensitivity to the ways in which thought inevitably results in muscular (physiological) responses, and that muscular/physiological responses create more thought. This is no-one's 'fault' but simply the way we have developed. Our reactions to the world as we mature are basic fear-stimulus reactions which result in a shortening of many of the postural muscles (we get pulled out of shape) and this distortion of the framework very much conditions our assumptions and actions. These,assumptions inevitably create more reactions, many of which impose a negative influence on our lives. So unwittingly, we become our own enemies.
    Any responsible person who purports to 'know' must base their knowing on the fundamental experience of being a unified being (as we all are, but many do not experience, even though it ultimately is a question of good body mechanics). If someone knows this, he or she will not be contemptuous of the 'silly questions' or behaviour of others because he will understand why this is so. If we experience ourselves as a 'mind' only, and consider the 'body' to be simply a fleshy envelope which carries us around, then naturally people attempt to seek to resolve their discontent, unrest or negative emotions by looking inward at the mind. This is a lost cause because they are only considering half the problem. The answer is in finding a method for regaining their innate sensitivity to their own thought process and how these thought processes manifest in their musculature, and how that muscular activity forms the context (feeling) in which new thoughts are created. I'm now retired but have spent many years studying and teaching the Alexander technique .. which provides an effective system for discovering how thought and action are mostly habitual and productive of a whole plethora of problems which people label 'mental' or 'emotional' or 'physical', and more importantly, how this can be changed to achieve optimal health in all spheres. In reality these are all aspects of the one indivisible entity which is you. Finally, it is not complex .. it is simple, but attempting to convey, through words an essentially experiential thing inevitably must be misinterpreted.

    Embodiment of Irony , nothing more. before i get bashed,
    1. You have selective acceptance of science, technology, etc, but disapprove things that dont deem to make sense to your faculties . Even science starts with hypotheses, goes with cause and effect, and all the greatest of the force discoveries from gravitation to quantum, were found with cause and effect, so it is quite natural for a curious mind to question what was before me, and i am not even coming to the question why so far. what UGK does, is just mental menace, nothing more. language , form, name, are characteristics of expression and understanding, and the knowledge framework is built on this. if everything has to be questioned, why is not questioning his own existence as a falsity and try to destroy this. that is the sad irony, you still need a consciousness activated existence to even comment and negate all the statements about existence. electron, and all the other sub-atomic particles were theorized and then instruments built to study the effect of their presence, there is no direct proof of any existence, so did he doubt the existence of these, you may not call it electron, but as i was saying, name form, pair is what is all around us, abstract ideas may not , but still get represented by equations right ?? i have not seen any explanation on human conciousness, in waking state, dream state , and what happens to this when someone dies. what is death mean to UGK? if aliveness doesnt make an impact, would death make an impact at all , i dont think so . so it is merely a evolutionary accident that came in the form of UGK and went away, the whole mystery of human journey is this open ended life... entry and exit both not in anyone's control. in another video he does mention about sages, rishis etc were acid headed and psychedelic , and all experiences, commentaries etc were in this state... , i am not here to accept or reject, what he says, but just on what basis is this commentary coming in ? again this will be twisted to the final statement of , you dont ahve to accept my views, any conversation that happens is to win someon over with another view point... why did he even have to talk if he believed this so much , full of ironicalBS

    To exercise we must believe that the body is too stupid to maintain itself without our constant input of [mostly unnatural] movement. This 'knowledge' is really a belief propagated by the 'knowledge sellers [educators]' that man must labor to become himself! UG's claim, if a lion need not learn* to become a lion, we need not teach man to become a man. Personally I don't even understand what that means. I do know that I've gotten up everyday to go chase nothing at the park for 30 minutes in circles because I was told I'd otherwise become fat and die an early death - its only just now I've considered the absolute irrationality of the premise in view of all of the rest of nature - but then of course the Professors also taught me I am 'more than just natural' but why this must mean I should work even harder to attain what the lower animals do without effort nobody can explain! Personally I don't like UG, life is much better without his philosophy, in fairness to him he's put forth many warnings in his videos that such as I am are not ready for his ideas.
