Easily the best music UA-cam channel. And I don’t play drums
This video is a complete disgrace and everyone @Drumeo should be ashamed and embarrassed.
He should have talked about a song he helped write, not any of Chris Alder's songs.
When are the Chris Turner vids going to be posted?
Kinda fucked up that Chris Adler gets no credit here. At least have Chris on your channel some time. He wrote these drum parts.
Strange, how Chris Adler is never even mentioned or credited even in passing, in contributing to such iconic parts in metal drumming history. Must be such bad blood...
Maybe there's some legal issues in between or something like that. that's why they can't say his name
The only thing that we can do is enjoy
THIS !!!
If you watch their longer video with Art Cruz, he talks at length about how much he respects Chris's drumming and knows he is filling some big shoes.
@@AlkanetEXE he is failing.
I was going to say the same thing. I don’t blame Art for they but I hate to see it. Feels wrong and unfair.
Chris Adler made the As the Palaces burn and Ashes...Killadelphia..
His Drumming was great and absolutely kills on so many songs. 11th Hour, ATPB, Vigil, Ruin, Bootscraper, Purified, Devil in God's, Defense,
Yeah it took bad we have an inferior drummer playing those songs now.
Anything Chris plays is going to be a banger guaranteed 🤘🤘
You have to give mention and respect to Chris Adler in this situation.
true
He just say "the record" without saying "Chris Adler" 😩
FFS he does in the full segment, in fact he goes out of his way to explain how a lot of these rythmic decisions were NOT his. this is a supercut of a longer video. He's extremely respectful about where the material came from and is a very capable drummer in his own right,. Stop needlessly trashing the guy who's doing a perfectly good job in the role.
It's in the first line of the description...
This might sound strange, but i lost all interest in LOG after Chris was let go/left/fired. Still listen to all of the albums with Chris on them though.
Chris Adler is and will forever be my favorite metal drummer..
I respect Art but Chris Adler is such an iconic drummer that have written such classic drum parts, that its hard to just forget how it used to be played by a such an influential musician. Again for me in the drumeo video, the snare tuning isnt doing it, dosent fit the LOG sound imo 🤷
Yeah I love me a big fat snare drum but part of the reason the drumming on the earlier LOG albums, in my opinion anyway, was the high pitch of Chris's snare. And that tight crack with the deeps bass drums and toms is what I expect when I hear those songs
This has got to be my favorite song to drum on, the fills are so satisfying
Remember that Metallica gig when Dave Lombardo sat in for Lars? Well, it's probably time to get Dave on Drumeo to break down the iconic double bass parts in One or the time signatures in Blackened.
Loll
You are just proving why Adler left, this is TOXIC, art is actually the Drummer, you like it or not, he didnt just fill in for a gig
are you stupid? dave filled in for a single gig whereas art's chris' permanent replacement
@@MyGerkowhile it makes sense that they couldn’t get Chris to do it because it’s the current band that owns the song, but they could have easily chosen a song that he wrote instead of one he didn’t.
Criticism isn’t automatically “toxic”, and is a valid part of doing things better next time.
@@pieflies 😉🤘
That scream after the breakdown is iconic and both the arrangement by Adler and Art's playing now underneath it fits so perfectly. You can tell Art is feeding off the emotion of that scream when he's playing.
I really love Art, he is great, and hope he stays in LOG for as long as possible. Now, since he didn't write the song in the first place, I don't think is appropriate having him trying to explain it. Like in 1:26
Well if you don’t think it’s appropriate, then I guess it isn’t.
I remember hearing Laid To Rest in 2004 when I was 12 and me and my brother and dad were literally laughing at it because we didn't know what this screaming and crazy heaviness even was! Lamb of God turned out to be one of our top favorite bands to this day!
Legit, Laid to Rest was one of the very first metal songs i've listened to, back when i was 10 or 11 yo back in the late 2000's. It still feels like it's the firdt time everytime i listen to it
Cool Chris Adler drumming
Man the finish on that kit is friggin gorgeous.
Chris Adler should come to Drumeo !!!
Art nearly laid himself to rest falling off the drum throne, hahaha. Be careful, dude! Nice work with the LOG song, a classic heavy tune.
Art Cruz seems like a good guy with a great vibe and attitude. Monster drummer, too. He was the best possible choice to replace Chris Alder and keeps the band moving forward in a good way.
The band would of been better off just stopping or at least no longer playing Adler's song because Art can't hit it.
@@Eric-cj8sb thanks for sharing your opinion.
@@Eric-cj8sbdude you a hater hahahaha you are pathethic, you just prove why adler left, so toxic, i bet you cant even play the verdes of this song and yet Here you are criticizing a PRO Drummer, if you simp adler is fine, but thats not art’s fault
@@Eric-cj8sb What's wrong with his drumming?
@@Eric-cj8sbyou have no idea what you are talking about.
Art Cruz was in the first video I saw from this channel. The dude is a ball of charisma and it's super impressive to step into another musician's shoes and keep a band going.
he is hitting those toms with such power. triplets are always a good choice for catchy and original metal madness
Art has such a cool personality and great talent, I wish we get more videos of him with drumeo. Man is a beast!
This song is what started my metal journey!
Chris Adlers drumming was iconic, so many catchy and memorable grooves. I love Art, he’s a great fit, but man do I miss Chris
I really like his drumming and that headbanging upwards...
ART CRUZ is KING KONG on drums hands down, but something about the way Chris Adler plays this song just does it for me. That ROCKS!!! 2 badass drummers with 2 different styles.🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Badass, thanks for sharing. Art Cruz is awesome!
Great breakdown of an epic song.
What a different sound and feeling! Chris🔥💪🤘
Cruz is super cool, but there's something in Chris that is not replaceable. not only the tone, but the "groove", especially in the bass drum part.
Also there're moments when we're listening to the new songs, and we're imagining in our head the sound of Chris' drumming that will make it different.
Anyway, we're happy to see Lamb of God now! Cant wait to see them again in Hammersonic 2024
No lamb of god without Chris
1:52 this double bass pattern sounds different from chris part. is he playing it different or does it just sound different?
He does a great job playing Adler's music. It was always awesome to see Adler play the songs like it was the easiest thing to do.
Even though they don't wanna mention the Absolutely fucking insane Legendary Drumming God Name here BUT we all know Chris made lots of kids pick up those Drum sticks. Absolutely killer arrangment by one and only CHRIS ADLER.
NICE COVER DUDE.
He gets a lot of shit, mainly from people comparing him to Chris. This man is a solid drummer. Super powerful and solid. He fits the band.
God damn, that set/lighting is fantastic
Art Cruz is a beast. I have enjoyed his playing since winds of plague. Dudes a great drummer.
Excellent performance, my only complaint is the snare doesn't sound like a can.
Trash can sounding snares are annoying and need to get by the wayside.
that is actually a good thing. this is no st anger.
LOL
@@alexschneider8494 yeah but this song, just like St. Anger, is enshrined in my skull with that particular annoying sound. It's part of its soul really.
@@diegopeart sure, but if you like these songs the way yhey were originally conceived, removing the flaws just takes away from the magic.
The snare really gets hit so hard in this song sometimes on of beat and sometimes on the beat🤘🏻
Art, I love you man, I wish you all the best and I understand you joined LoG, but damn do I miss you with Prong. You are my favorite drummer. Hope to see you some day, somewhere, all the best from The Netherlands.
Love this song! 🔥🤘🏻❤️
This song its like energy drink that boost your will to play more
What an astonishingly beautiful drum kit. Mmmm … LUDWIG! 🤤
i love what drumeo put out, but this song should be broken down by chris adler. art cruz should breakdown his own drum part on new lamb of god album.
Yeah maybe you should teach them how to do content 😂😂😂
One of the most fun sounding parts is after the breakdown with something that I name flim-flam (because I have no idea if there is a term for it), alternating doubles with hands and feet, sound hand-feet-hand-feet etc. it just sounds cool to me. Hard to connect if you can't get the rhythm right.
his control over the kick is absolutely amazing damn
he fluffed the intro though haha
And your point is? He has said right at the start its not his song
Maybe he has but no ones perfect. If i was good as he is I wouldnt be bothered.
@@kevinbick1234chill out bud, no need to get offended over it🤦
haha absolutely no. he compensates for his weaknesses (which is totally fine) but acts like he is ''that guy.'' i don't respect him at all for not mentioning chris adler even a single time these whole sessions.
my all time favourite LoG riff ever written - Laid To Rest
At 4:00 when they show the breakdown build-up.. then Art explains about how the next beat changes up by just moving the snare... but Drumeo shows a clip of the section AFTER the part he was talking about lol. He was talking about the weird snare hits in the breakdown.
Still my go-to song for warming up
Yo Art, I saw you last night in Tampa . Amazing show 👏
Art is an awesome dude and drummer!! I remember when winds of plague played a show in bend at a little grange and they stayed after and cleaned up the venue.
Am I crazy or is the notation wrong at 3:53 ? The last 4 notes should be one eighth note triplet earlier. And in the next 2 bars at 3:59 , the second bar should be 5/4 with an extra quarter rest at the end, and the last 2 eighth note triplets should again be one eighth note triplet earlier.
Danger place to be drumeo! We can feel and see the difference. We the lambs of god love Chris and we are all hurt from his absence from the band!
This is bs af. Art is the hell of a drummer and is doing a great job in Lamb of God.
This song is super fun to play. I think the hardest part of it is just the triplet kicks are pretty much constant throughout most of the song. It’s not fast, but after a million bars of it, your legs are wanting a break. Good shit.
Art Cruz & Mike Portnoy, two of my favorite episodes thus far. Great job guys.
Very smooth and accurated, creative and powerfull!!! Great… Chris Adler
Art is a truly amazing drummer but Chris Adler is whats missing from Lamb of God for me right now. His unique groove and dynamic was an integral part of what i loved about the band 🤘🤘
This is the first song from LOG I heard & saw, on their tour in Europe while I went initially to watch Devildriver. Hooked ever since.
The first time I played it all the way through I had goosebumps the entire time.
Maybe Art should’ve done this for a newer LoG song, but Laid To Rest is a Chris Adler track
On another Drumeo video he says he "plays drums for LoG", so he is not even part of the band.
true, it felt like a disrespect to the original drumner
@@reginaldalmazan6933 and wears gloves to protect his nail polish
First song that I ever heard from LoG.
Made me an instant fan
He should breakdown his own songs. This belong to Chris.
Dude if you were right they wouldnt even do the song, its a LAMB OF GOD song, art is the LAMB OF GOD DRUMMER, maybe you simp too much adler, but thats not art’s fault, the songs are from THE BAND, not from a single member
@@MyGerkoChris wrote it though. Have Chris give us the run down of it as he wrote it and he can explain the theory as to why it is the way it is. Have Art do it for the L.o.G. songs he wrote himself. He's a kick-ass drummer with his own style and application of theory.
@@MyGerkodoesn’t make any sense to explain a song you didn’t come up with the part for
@@MyGerko Chris wrote the drum part you Muppet. A good 15 years plus before Art had anything to do with the band.
Chris Adler 🤘🔥
Amazing ❤
My most favorite band of all time!
Saludos desde Argentina
Get Chris Adler on Drumeo please!!!!
One of the greatest metal songs ever made
No one can recreate Chris Adlers feel, it’s why I never went to see them again after Chris left.
Same here brother. 🤘
I felt that way after the s/t record, but I think Art came into his style on Omens. It's a little more straightforward/less groovy, but it's a solid LoG record. Plus Art is a very good live drummer - brings a solid energy to Adler's parts, playing them pretty faithfully. It's certainly not exactly the same as before, but I don't know how you think seeing LoG with Art is worse than staying home.
Just like Charlie benante can’t recreate vinnie pauls powerful groove playing, they are very technical but the feel is impossible to replicated
Love lamb of god because of Chris Adler buy Art Cruze tears it up man. You gotta see him. His energy is fucking awesome. He is a bad ass drummer.
You wouldn't know the difference.
A little over two weeks to see this live. LESSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
With Pantera? It was so killer
Chris Adler absolute GOAT
Sounds just like the record to me Art! 💪
One of my go-to songs while practicing. So fun to play, just wish I had the cymbal array you do. lol
Nice explanation video and Art is a beast on drums (check out his drumming at Prong, very tasty!!). He is a perfect fit for LoG, he now is part of the band and LoG is still LoG! He helped them out in time of need and made it possible for Log to continue being a great band. Yes, he is not Chris Adler, but Chris is also not Art Cruz. And Art has that great musicianship to keep the sound and style of the “old” LoG and on top of that bring his dynamic and flavor to it that 100% fit the music. That to me is good enough!
Well done Art 🔥💯🔥
Chris Adler is one the best drummers to ever live.
Chris Adler's drumming is just tight...his fills cannot be compared and cannot be replicated... Listening the original one, this video is just nothing to it...Chris is the GOAT !!! 😮🤘🏼🔥💥❤️🤘🏼
I played in cover bands from 2001-2010 and I wish I had these videos to help me learn. But I did it the old fashion way just listening to the song pure of sound. And maybe some visuals from a live performance or dvd live performance. We didn’t have this kind of luxury
Love you chris adler 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The music video popped up on headbangers ball on mtv one night. I was like….what is this madness? Got the album shortly after lol
Same happened with the black dahlia murder, saw a commercial for the album during headbangers ball and it was coming out soon after.
Got it day one and was hooked, just curious to see how they adapt on a newer album 🥺
Hell yeah, brother
I FCKING LOVE THISS
Hell yeah! I just grabbed a copy of Killadelphia from my storage unit, yesterday. Idk why, I have multiple copies but I guess, I needed another. Got a lot of shit in my storage unit, so every time I go there, I find something "cool".
Chris Adler🔥
anybody else immediately switch to one of chris adlers drum clinics the second this guys started to play? cause same.
Absolutely fantastic video, I would love to see Art going over one of the songs off of the most recent record, preferably Gomorrah because that song is fantastic, so we can hear his own way of writing drum parts for LoG, because his style is very excellent.
I'd love to see Tobias Derer on the channel someday, he loves working with other people so im sure he'd love it too! Thanks for the content.
First time I seen Lamb of God was at Ozzfest 2004 and they kicked ass.
Fantastic sound, excellent interpretation of this iconic drums from an outstanding band, Art Cruz plays great
Love it 🤘😃
The sick neck move @7:45 😂
That intro beat is my fav in the whole song
Amazing!!
Very good and entertaining drummer. I find it strange, however, that in both this video and the others Chris Adler is never mentioned, as he is the historical drummer as well as the author of the drum parts for this song.
Anybody know what snare drum he's playing?
Thanks Art for the respect to teachers sent in the end (I am one)
The reason why he is doing one of Chris’ songs is because he is promoting the upcoming tour with mastodon where they will be playing the full album.
The kicks in the breakdown aren't actually the "exact same pattern" played on the snare previously. In the kick pattern, the rhythm in the second bar is shifted one 1/8th note triplet later than in the snare pattern. The notation in the video for the snare pattern is also incorrect as the last four hits land on 3 + a 4, rather than + a 4 + as noted (although this is how the kick will play the final 2 beats in the breakdown). I still thoroughly enjoyed the video though, and this song is a goldmine for useful drumming and guitar skills!
🔥
También te quiero mucho Art Cruz ❤🥁
Mind......blown! Awesome!
Dude Every time i hear this song. I air drum threw most of the song. Freaking Killer
Wish I could see Chris Adler on here Drumeo
Lamb of God would never be Lamb of God without Chris Adler. The foundation he made with this band is phenomenal. One of the most melodic, creative and skilled metal drummer. Chris brought us something that is totally unique. I give him full credit for that. Art is also a good drummer but the sound of LOG mostly means Chris
