Wow that’s a long time. Has she always been able to growl ?? Curious. Hope she’s taking care. Hate to see her lose her voice, because that will be a sad day indeed. Covid sent me from wardruna to enslaved to nightwish, epica, and then to Halestorm. Hell yeah !!! It’s been a hell of a journey 😂😂
Lizzy Hale is surely one of the greatest female singers of all time! I really admire how she can sustain a drive on her voice, even in extremely high notes. And she does that along several songs, without any apparent prejudice to her voice - not to mention her passionate performances, and the fact that she also plays guitar while singing. Surely a complete artist. Great video as always, Ken! Cheers from Brazil!
You should listen to her collaborations that have been released in the last two months. She did a remake of break in with Amy Lee that is absolutely stellar and features probably two of the best female singers on the planet. She just did a feature on a country song that is amazing. And she did a collaboration with a tribal group that will just lower you. There is nothing she cannot do.
The Mongolian band Hu is who she sang with. That band is GREAT. and that song with Amy Lee OMG I watched the impromptu one at some festival, that was awesome. Imagine being in that crowd on that day at that exact time. So cool.
She has strength and an amazing stage presence! She pours her heart out on stage and just makes you feel every note! Isn’t that what music is about anyway?...to make you feel...passion. In my humble opinion. 😃
Fun fact: the whole band can sing. The guys all do backup vocals at times. Which is pretty sick. I met her and the drummer Arejay at the 2019 Grammys and they’re awesome people too.

I'm so happy you picked Lzzy Hale. She's definitely one that's become a stand out to me (and obviously many others) these past few years. She's amazing and I agree that she's one of the best. Great pick Ken!
These are all of the reasons why I just LOVE Lzzy! She is so unique and unapologetically herself! Please can you do an episode about Amy Lee of Evanescence? I d love that! 💗
I learned of Halestorm when they toured with Evanescence and Chevelle in 2012, and I have been so grateful ever since. Lzzy Hale is an awesome vocalist -- emphasis on the "AWE" -- and the rest of the band is the perfect match to showcase that voice. Arejay Hale on drums, Joe Hottinger on lead guitar, and Josh Smith on bass...they are ALL requirements for this band. Switch out any one with someone else, and it wouldn't be the same.
I absolutely agree she is the greatest female rock vocalist ever!!! Live she is a beast! Like all rock stars live there are good shows and amazing shows vocals wise! He voice from 2004 to 2015 I think was her best sound! But as what happens when non stop touring it can take a toll on their voice!
If I could sing like anyone, it would be Lzzy, because she can sing so pretty, and sweet, Belt it, scream, she can do it all! She and her band mates really show appreciation for their fans, and it is evident by their words, and performances how much they love what they do. She and her brother (the drummer) are from a musical family, as I recall💖🎶
Lzzy and Halestorm are one of the best live bands out there at the moment (COVID aside) I've been following them for about 10 years from Bonnie Scotland and saw her in clubs right up to concert venues and she's still always in her element. Her range is amazing from the balls out rock songs like Black Vultures, I am the Fire, Apocalyptic and It's not you to the ballads like Here's to Us and Familiar Taste of Poison. Her cover of Girl Crush is amazing and then listen to her singing Song of Woman with The Hu. Then consider the're all her singing !
I know this was from last year but I just watched it today for the first time. I noticed you mention the drummer a few times and someone might have already mentioned this that the drummer is her younger brother and he can be nuts because he is just that good. he's one of the best rock drummers out there today and he's constantly doing tricks while he plays. Like alot of drummers spin there sticks but he spins his sticks backwards between each beat and really nails the drums by doing so. He also has a great singing voice. They were just a couple of kids when they started Halestorm, she was 13 and he was 10 in 1996 or 97 depending on who's telling their story. You're right about how she's one of the best singers in music weather they are female or male in my opinion.
Lzzy absolutely Rocks and she rocks hard! I just love her voice and her vocal range! Her band and her are all very talented and genuinely nice people! Lzzy gives her all and then some more on stage and always! She loves what she does and it shows! She is truly an inspiration to many! Lzzy and the guys are Epic!!!!
ANOTHER ONE of these versatile singers that have spunk and charisma. She owns it when she sings. Doesn't try too hard to be something she isn't. The way she did Still of the night was classy in my opinion.
She's my absolute favorite. I could listen to Love Bites over and over again, that haunting note on the I sends chills. 2nd favorite is Amy Lee so when the two of them work together, it's absolute magic.
I remember Lizzy on the Country music awards singing with Eric Church( who looked like he was wayyy out of his league) Cool performance though. BTW Jagger is pushin 80 give the guy a break..👍
In 1994 I was an assistant manager at a Hardee's restaurant in upland Pennsylvania which is in the vicinity of Red Lion. A guy came in one day with an 8x12 advertisement of a band that is going to be performing in the area during the weekend. The band's name was Halestorm.. first of all I thought what a cool name for a band. Secondly, I let the guy put the poster up in the window and I asked permission from the general manager later. Boy what I love to have saved that poster.
Halestorm is a really great band and there's one thing Lzzy Hale had that puts her at the top. Her charisma. And she is singer, guitar player and a great composer. Lzzy is right up there, and in the rock genre is pretty hard to surpass. She's done some great collaborations too, including Shatter Me with Lindsey Sterling, which to my mind is one of Lzzy's best performances.
I took lessons from the same vocal coach as Lizzy. Now working through your course. Probably going to set up a 1:1 sometime soon. On a separate note, while not relevant to this video, wanted to say it would be good to see some male students tackling those hard male vocals. I've actually just started getting into Halestorm. I got tickets to see their co-headlining tour with Evanesence this fall. So i wanted to be familiar with Halestorm. It is gonna be a killer show. I hope they do Break In with Amy. I love Lizzy's vocals. She kinda reminds me of a Joan Jett/Pat Benatar/Janis Joplin style singing. Do Not Disturb and The Silence are two of my personal favorites.
I wish i had gotten into this band sooner. Lizzy is fantastic. I agree with you about her brother the drummer . He's a helluva drummer and he's so much fun live. Can't wait for the show with them and Evanesence in November!
I simply love, love, looooove Lzzys Voice 😍 I'm still a beginner and currently practicing on "familiar taste of poison" and even that song is sooo much 😍😰
Moriah Formica, the singer of Plush--a band that actually Lzzy Hale helped getting their lead guitarist through sharing their advertisement on her Instagram--is definitely a rising star. Moriah sounds more than a little like Nancy Wilson from Heart and not unlike Nancy she has more power than almost every female rock singer out there. If Moriah is not one of the most appreciated female rock singers in ten years or so the world is deaf to the beauty of a great voice.
Lzzy Hale is the most versitile hard rock singer i have ever heard. A lot of Halestorm's original tracks are hard rock/heavy metal, but then Lzzy can shock you with much more somber pieces (Break in and Dear Daughter for example). The covers Halestorm has recorded prove the diversity in songs Lzzy and her band can pull off. This hard rock band has covered Metallica, the Beatles, Daft Punk, Lady Gaga, Whitney Houston, and many more. And all of these covers are performed well.
Hey Ken I've been using your course for almost 2 years now. The results have been amazing ! What you teach is absolutely true. I've tried most all other courses and you're right the proof is in the singing. Their tone and ability is not even close to what you do. So thank you thank you very much. I'm in it for the Long Haul. Also maybe look into Lajon Witherspoon from Sevendust he's one of my faves.

I would also like the opportunity to thank you in person.
Hey Ken. I've never heard of Lzzy before today. Thank you for the very informative video. I will have to do some research on her career. She has a strong voice and is also easy on the eyes. Thanks again Ken! 😎
I think your right, top 5, I was watching her doing a duet with Eric Church must of been some Country awards, so she's standing on stage doing her thing and then it was her turn to sing, the camera pans to Nicole Kidman for a second but the utter look of shock on her face, if you haven't heard Lzzy's voice she'll blow your ear drums out lol.
Lzzy is fantastic, I saw her cover Dio and she did a great job. As for female Power Singers check out the Chastain song For Those Who Dare. Vocalist Leather Leone is one of the most underrated female singers ever.
Funny thing is that first time I heard lizzie was when she was singing at the cma awards with eric church and introduce her to my teenage daughter she has now been at several halestorm concerts to me she like listening to a upgraded version of Doro pesch and that is meant as in the best way and listening to halestorm is hearing they have taken a lot of inspiration from a band like warlock and twisting it to a more modern sound
Sometimes I think singers tend to go through the motions are sorta just mail it in because they already have their fans. Especially in live concerts. She basically started the engine and drove the hell out her performance
First I knew of Lzzy was her ft. with Myles Kennedy live singing “Watch over you”. I had to look her up coz that performance was fantastic. (Both of them - perhaps do a review of Myles if you haven’t already). I agree with your analysis, she’s charismatic, sexy, plays guitar, belts it out like nothing else and I kinda keep wondering when she’s gonna blow her voice out but (thankfully) she keeps going. Must be watching some KTVA videos in her spare time eh?!
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy you’re welcome 😊. If you’ve not seen it, do your ears a favour and look up “Watch over you” Myles Kennedy (Billboard Studio). Love your videos Ken, my daughters watch also and I’m always telling ppl about you channel. God bless brother. 👍🏼
I did after watching your video. Probably not yet as popular in The Netherlands although I see now they played in Amsterdam in 2019. Too bad I missed that. Awesome band.
Daria Zaritskaya ua-cam.com/users/sergeysershen Now she's mostly a YT personality (though she has done concerts) and her band's a cover band, but she's a helluva singer. I won't bring her up again, Ken, but she deserves a play on your channel.
She is a vocal queen. Ps have you ever analyzed Rachel Ferrell. She seems to utilize tons of open throat and mouth techniques. Shes a vocal beast and has a huge range. Lizzys range is huge too.
Man, she leaves it all out there. There’s a video of her doing Nobody’s Fool with Tom Kiefer on UA-cam. It’s sick. Of course they do the back and forth but she kills the money screams in the end. Too damn good

I hope they do Break In with Amy. I love Lizzy's vocals. She kinda reminds me of a Joan Jett/Pat Benatar/Janis Joplin style singing. Do Not Disturb and The Silence are two of my personal favorites.
Thanks for the thoughts!
I wish i had gotten into this band sooner. Lizzy is fantastic. I agree with you about her brother the drummer . He's a helluva drummer and he's so much fun live. Can't wait for the show with them and Evanesence in November!
I simply love, love, looooove Lzzys Voice 😍
I'm still a beginner and currently practicing on "familiar taste of poison" and even that song is sooo much 😍😰
Keep at it!
Ayyyyyy! She must be the girl from Halestorm!
She is indeed!
If Moriah is not one of the most appreciated female rock singers in ten years or so the world is deaf to the beauty of a great voice.
she is AWESOME
Thanks for listening, Vince!
You should do Maria Brinks from "In This Moment". She has an interesting vocal style. Oh, Lizzy's brother is on Drums.
Thanks for the suggestion, Tau!
Thanks for the thoughts!
I just love hearing that Maynard, I really do! Makes it all worthwhile. If you'd like to share about your experience on any of these sites I'd sure appreciate it! Rock on!

@@kentamplin I left a review on quora. It was the least I could do! I've been a guitar teacher for a long time so I know it takes constant practice. For me it is six days a week. Mon-Sat it's you and me singing for an hour. I would like to do some skype lessons with you. I'm assuming that I can find the cost and info on your site? I would also like the opportunity to thank you in person.
A true rocker and singer. I agree with u Ken
Awesome! Rock on, Tom!
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻Lzzy, Arejay, Joe, Josh🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Rock on!
Hey Ken. I've never heard of Lzzy before today. Thank you for the very informative video. I will have to do some research on her career. She has a strong voice and is also easy on the eyes. Thanks again Ken! 😎
Awesome, Jeff! Enjoy!
I've got to go watch that video. Thanks, Lori!
LZZY IS THE QUEEN OF PORRA TODA. SHE S A MONSTER ON STAGE!
Lzzy is fantastic, I saw her cover Dio and she did a great job. As for female Power Singers check out the Chastain song For Those Who Dare. Vocalist Leather Leone is one of the most underrated female singers ever.
DofkaTubeChannel👍
Pardon my ignorance but I don't know most of the singers since you started this series. I haven't watched much but I'm still a subscriber!
You should check some of them out, Tyler!
Jay Buchanan would be my pick for the next artist.
Love your work Ken. God bless
Thank you, Ian! Appreciate that!
I’m embarrassed I’ve never heard of her. Thanks Ken!
Her band is Halestorm. Check 'em out
Dude, I seriously appreciate your work and when I start getting paid, I'm donating!
Thanks, ChArLie!
Thanks for the visit! 😀
Sometimes I think singers tend to go through the motions are sorta just mail it in because they already have their fans. Especially in live concerts. She basically started the engine and drove the hell out her performance
Yeah, that's disappointing. Lzzy killed it!
Lzzy never holds back for her fans. She actually interacts with us on Twitter regularly!
@@mandiski78 Thats great to hear. Often fans are taken for granted
Thanks, Brett! Appreciate the thoughts! Rock on!
Couldn't agree more! 🤘
Rock on, Wes!
Top 1 man. Every song blows me away
For sure!
Lizzy is awesome. Wicked vocals. Great band
If you listen to early Lee Aaron her band could rock it and she could hit major octaves
Thanks, peter! Rock on!
Gabby would do well with some of lzzy's songs , would LOVE to hear em ;)
Indeed! Check out Kayla and Kati's renditions of Halestorm tunes.
@@kentamplin got a link ?
Love this Lady
She's great!
Cool! Didn’t know her. Thank you 😎
Check out Halestorm.
I did after watching your video. Probably not yet as popular in The Netherlands although I see now they played in Amsterdam in 2019. Too bad I missed that. Awesome band.

Now she's mostly a YT personality (though she has done concerts) and her band's a cover band, but she's a helluva singer. I won't bring her up again, Ken, but she deserves a play on your channel.
Thanks for the suggestion, Kevin!
She sounds awesome! Please do Beth Hart next.
Thanks for the suggestion, Chris!
Amen!!!
Alisson Von Der Lane 👍
She is a vocal queen. Ps have you ever analyzed Rachel Ferrell. She seems to utilize tons of open throat and mouth techniques. Shes a vocal beast and has a huge range. Lizzys range is huge too.
I haven't Helix. Rock on!
🔥🔥🔥
Awesome! Thanks, Dan!
By the way. You've done great job with Mark Hudson! In Dragonforce he sounds flawless! ;)
Mark is awesome! Rock on!
Wow haven't heard her before but definitely someone to watch. Thanks Ken and btw is there anything you could think of for Joe Elliott??
Hey, Buzz. I have a reaction video and several Def Leppard covers on my channel. Check 'em out!
@@kentamplin Nice I've seen some of them already.
Man, she leaves it all out there. There’s a video of her doing Nobody’s Fool with Tom Kiefer on UA-cam. It’s sick. Of course they do the back and forth but she kills the money screams in the end. Too damn good
Rock on, Scott!
Do one on that singer from fleetwood mac.. can’t remember her name. But she was awesome!
Almost impossible to use a FM clip. Copyright issues. I do try, however.
Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy alright 🙂
She is definitely a phenomenal singer. She can stand easily with greats like Sebastian Bach. Her lyrics just hit me like a cheese grater, though.
Rock on!
Great video, thanks for making it! would you consider doing a video like this about Tatiana Shmaylyuk of Jinjer?
Possibly!
Thx that was awesome never heard about her...awesome
Hope you get to enjoy some more of Halestorm's music! Rock on, Andrew!
Thx enjoying her stuff
