@@arjensimons5385 I know, it wasn't my first game jam :) I recently switched to unity and feel a bit overwhelmed of what it can do compared to what I was using before :D
This was my first game jam and it was a ton of fun to participate in! Although I scored low, I learned alot and my game was shown on screen for about 0.3 seconds so that is a massive win in my book! xD Thank you so much for hosting such a great event!
@Hsen AA I've been making games for over a year. I mostly learn by making a different genre of game each time (one game/month). Brackeys, Sebastian Lague and google are great sources.
Awesome Game, i genuinely love the idea with the keyboard. One thing I might have missed tho is the relation to "the game is a lie", how does that fit into your game?
Inspiring as always. Cannot believe people can make such great games in very short time period. I really like the game about the menu. The idea and design is so unique. :)
Congratulations to all that entered and those who were featured here! It was so much fun participating in the jam, so thank you to Brackeys and all the others for hosting it. (There were soooo many rage games!)
The fun thing is that is was not even planned, I just tried to build a good looking entrance. Never played terraria before, but I heard from a lot of people that it looks like something from terraria. Kinda amusing how it turned out.
I had tons of fun, just let me say. Making my game, seeing others, rating others, getting rated, It was extremely enjoyable. My game had a secret that collectibles could slow you or make you jump lower but I didn't implement anything in such a way that it was noticeable. However it was great to see what i could do!
Jeg havde kunne slet ikke høre at du var Dansk! Fedt nok alligevel. Jeg nyder virkelig jeres guides og er først lige gået i gang med at lave spil men jeg håber på at fortsætte med det!
I love your channel, and btw when you moved into your new office, you said that you would Upload every Sunday and Wednesday... I’m not seeing Wednesday lol
I was really hyped to be part of this as I've always wanted to be part of a game jam...however the day before the jam hit all but one other member of our team quit talking and never said a thing during the entire jam. This really really sucked :( I wanted to be part of this so bad but everyone bailed without any notice at all.
hey guys, i found assets called "Mirror", it suppose to be replacement for Unity UNET, do you have any experience with that ? if yes could you share some ?
This looks like an awesome game jam.. I can’t wait to give it a try next year since I’m going to game course. But those games looks absolutely awesome!!!!
Great vid. Several years ago I first learnt about unity from the brackeys platformer series and it was great I’ve watched every video since and have 1 recommendation for you amazon thirstyland( that’s what I called you cause I couldn’t pronounce your name) please bring back the EPIC intro music. I used to jam to that all the time. Thx again I would never know what a sprite is or what c# is if you didn’t appear on my UA-cam
Hello, I'm following your How to Make a Video Game series I asked there but anyone answered. As I build my game I'm getting 5 files (2folders, exe, craschhandler, playerdll) when you only get 2 when you " export"/build? There are other people with the same problem could you helps us?
The jam was fun, but it is so humbling comparing the game I made with the masterpieces everyone was able to make Also you look like a villian :P maybe it would be a good future game idea!
I wanna learn to make games with unity, and am planning to take their courses to learn the ins and outs of the engine. The issue is I have no clue where to start, each time I look at learning it it seems massively overwhelming. Like, do I start learning modeling or coding first, you need coding to make models move but you need models in order to code them, then there's learning particle effects, trails, camera movements, and collider physics. I probably need to stop looking st the whole thing and just start learning it piece by piece.
I was hoping to see my game in this video, but all of the games in this video looked way better than mine. I don't think we really deserved that #5 overall spot.
Can somebody help me? Im starting in unity, my background is horizontal but the camera goes and expands only vertically. Its annoys how can i solve this?
Sadly I wasn’t able to join, because I’m still in a learning phase and just made my first game (using my udemy tutorial) but am looking forward to participate in any future jams
NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object Movement.FixedUpdate () (at Assets/Movement.cs:41) . i followed one of your old movement in unity 2d tutorials and now this keeps on appearing. Does ANYONE know how to fix it?
In clickhead I managed to fall below the map into an area with a bunch of pause buttons, the music is playing like 30 times at once, and to the right there are useless buttons 1-5. ???
Nice to have some strong competition on itch! Congrats on the huge success of the jam, and hope you all do it again in 2020
my guy Mark, speaking straight facts
Are game jams on the rise? Mix and Jam is also hosting a game jam soon!
2 biggest jam on itch within a month!
Haha aren't you the number one of hosting game jams on itch io?
@@AXLplosion yoo ! 😂 But mix&Jam is truly unique . Still tho , I enjoy watching all of them .
Super impressive entries :)! Big well done to all the participants of the jam!

It was my first jam with unity and my game was scored quite low, but it was worth it I gained many skills throughout the jam :) Thanks for hosting!
Tharky that's what gamejams are for. The learning process, the experience and less about the end result

@@Tharky Hi Tharky! Well done on your game jam! May I ask what you were using before Unity?
Tharky Good job! Can I ask for the link to the game so I can check it out?
My first jam too :)
Dang people are talented!!!
Thats a news, we never knew.
Thanks for informing :)

Thanks for featuring my game (Key Defence)! I've added a fast-forward button to the post-jam version, as this was requested a lot ;-).

Awesome! And thanks a lot for mentioning our The Tutorial. Really glad you had fun checking it out. (and sorry about missing checkpoints) :)

3:09 has anyone else noticed that that’s a terraria reference... the skeleton castle with the old man!
The fun thing is that is was not even planned, I just tried to build a good looking entrance. Never played terraria before, but I heard from a lot of people that it looks like something from terraria. Kinda amusing how it turned out.
It feels like a reference because both games tried to make it a generic dungeon entrance.
These games looked incredible! Great job everyone!
Click-Head Seems alot like "There is no game"
That cool-math game

Fantastic work from everyone who entered!

Why aren't these games on Steam? I'd buy them and support these people.
To publish a game on steam you have to pay 100$. and these games are pretty much demos and not full games someone would purchase
