Well done, congrats on new boat. You seem organised , make sure you have your export docs which shows boat has 18 months in EU. We were boarded in France and they claimed we had to pay VAT. Also a boat stamp is handy, Greek authorities luv them . Cheers
Whoa cliff hanger ending 😂. We must be like minded, I’ve done the same courses + 1 which you’ll hope never to use but since you are putting one on your boat, consider doing the sea survival, teaching you how to get into a life raft etc… Went to the same sailing school for day skipper, mediocre experience… taught by monohull guys not experienced cat instructors. One last thing, nothing quite like having an experienced FP skipper come onboard and teach you on your own boat. EXCITING, can wait to watch upcoming episodes 👍
Hey, I would live to do the sea survival , even just knowing how to properly use the life raft in a calm setting so you knew what to do in an actual emergency. Thanks for the recommendation, and thanks for watching, Catherine
Incqse your not aware,Check Australian Bilateral travel agreements, and on another note after your long stay visa you can then do another 90 days qs the 90/180 is separate to long stay visas
Thankyou, I might have another look at the Australian Bilateral travel agreements. I have met others who have utalised this, and I think that would be a great option to have. we have also seen digital nomad visas too. doing whatever we can to stay as long as possible and follow all the rules :) thanks again, Catherine
A few hours is nothing. I have a friend who has a kid with his girlfriend in Europe and even then it was not easy to get a visa. Took several weeks. And best not upset the people who can make or break your acceptance. If you are perceived to be rude, they can get very anal instead of a bit forgiving. You won the battle, but then lost the war.
Being English and now outside of the EU, the french in particular love they re paperwork and in general are somewhat tricky to deal with . My advice is to be as thorough as humanly possible. Good Luck
Life safety is number one in any travel! You guys are well on the way to succeeding on your travels!

PS say g'day to Romms if you catch him in La Rochelle.
Roms was great. We are still in touch with him.
PSS is who I did my course with. Probably on the same cat. I was pretty happy with everything. We had better weather. 😂
Yes the weather was shocking but we decided we were not going to let it still our joy.

It can be super difficult but you have to jump through the hoops if you want the visa. definately worth it in the end :) thanks for watching!

Name and shame the dodgy trainers so others don;t get caught
It's something we thought about but due to the safety concerns we decided not to.
