There’s a life expectancy of sailing and RV-ing. Both usually have a max of ten years. Life is full of eras. This is a shift from one to another and another one will be here again when daughter moves on with her life without you. It was good to put a cap on your video life as a courtesy to your subscribers.
    Cheers to new chapters 🍻.

We sailed with Simon last November and had a great time. We are considering making the jump to the sailing life style in retirement which is still a couple of years away. We were his first group on Manava so there was some learning curve for us and for Simon. He does really give you the opportunity to learn the basics of not only sailing the boat, but also the details of mooring balls, setting the anchor, choosing places to stay, places to eat, using the navigational tools, weather awareness, and maintenance on the boat. We had a minor engine problem which I was able to diagnose and perform the repair. Simon is a patient instructor allowing you to make minor mistakes and correct them without criticism. He definitely lets you set the itinerary as much as possible. We wanted to Scuba Dive as much as possible during our trip so he not only help us set up dives with local dive shops, but also took us to a few spots where we could dive on our own. We had a great experience and a wonderful time.

Hi Guys. I've really enjoyed watching Sailing Britican right from the very start. Britican is a beautiful yacht and although she has been on the market for over a year now I'm sure she will sell. Unfortunately she is now getting the age where she will need a refit and I think potential buyers are aware of that. Living on a boat full time for 10 years takes it toll the yacht, but that's exactly what Britican was designed for. I wish all the very best for the future. I think you're wonderful people and also wonderful parents, sacrificing the cruising lifestyle for your daughters happiness. You've certainly given a good crack though. Atb to you all.

I've been looking for people like you a long time. I am so hungry for sailing the seas. My father and younger brother were both in the Navy and I joined the army.
But their stories of their adventures really enthralled me because I didn't get that far around the globe with the army.
I have been designing all sorts of things in fibre glass, carbon fibre etc.. my favourite water craft is the catamaran.
And I have come up with some good designs for modular catamarans that can bolt together and expand according to needs. So six or twenty catamarans can bolt together for a collective experience.
I can design and make things with strong light materials from recycled waste.
I would love to be part of a team.
PS I am also a top chef that makes food from all over the world.

Thanks for the update. Are you surprised Britican hasn’t sold yet? Has the market shifted?
Looking from the outside and 8000 miles away it would seem that the sailing experiences would really be better if Kim was onboard helping Simon. The female perspective is often the deciding factor when a couple want to go cruising.
I vote for a RV for your land base.

No…not surprised. We’ve had three sales fall through. Britican just hasn't found the right buyers yet. Agree about Kim being on board. If she could be, she would! Perhaps once Sienna is off to college ;)

Not only children but adults want consistency in their lives (relations, marriage, career etc) as well. You are the only cruising couple who "quit" cruising because of their child. That is a sign of good parenting. While some other cruising families ignore their child's feelings aka THOU (the child) SHALL OBEY!

I retired 2 years ago and I’m thinking about selling my house and land and buy a live aboard trawler I think I’m too old for a sailboat.
