I now have the 14 pro max, and the battery is great,,I also have a 13 pro and yes it isn't as good as the 14 pro max but I don't feel it is as far behind as this test resulted, I never found the 13 pro battery an issue.
I guess 13 pro max lost against 14 pro max due to its battery health at the moment of this test . I also believe it’s lower than 95%

All of these battery results on UA-cam are all over the place with some 14 Pro Max getting 8 hours while this one gets almost 10 hours. Kind of hard to know what to believe.
It really just depends on the usage. If I had set them to max brightness they wouldn’t have lasted as long
I've had almost universally great battery life with all my iPhones simply by reducing my brightness down very low. I understand having your brightness at 15-20% is too dim for some people but it's perfectly fine for me and it's given me great results. I also rarely play any audio very loud and I almost always use a 5w, maybe 10w charger with the charging optimization turned on. Doing all of that my iPhone 13 is about a year old with 100% battery health. What works for some may not work for others but I thought I'd share my experiences.

5w wireless charger at night to 100% and then it happens too often that I'll let it dip well below 20%. Then fast charging during day to 80%.
I think the main problem is it's usually quite warm especially when charging. Often use a phone cooler but not always.
I’ve had my XR for 4 years and it’s still at 93% battery health some how
I do the same with my 13 pro that is now a year old but ever since upgrading to iOS 16 my battery health has dropped from 100 to 96 smh
This is very helpful! There has been conflicting information out there since the 14 Pro Max will beat the 13 Pro Max hands down in a straight-up video test due to the upgraded LTPO panel. The stand-by time was helpful in terms of trying to figure out the "real" battery life under actual conditions.
I upgraded from the 13 Pro Max to the 14 Pro Max. I'm running iOS 16.1 beta builds and the battery life has improved with 16.1. I'm now getting around the same battery life as the 13 Pro Max but with the AOD on and lots of photography.
@@funkam0nkey Spot on, I also upgraded from the 13PM to 14PM after seeing this video. I think I need to upgrade to the beta build as IMO it seems that the battery isn't as good straight out the gate (AOD on aside).
@@fam4265 Give the beta a go but make sure you restart after the beta is installed. For some reason, it helped battery life for me.
Just bought iphone 13 promax. Im not a content creator and wanted a phone that can last a long time in gaming. It surely impressed me. The battery is so good that an intense 16-20mins of gaming just cost 2-3 battery percentage. Hands down to apple for really showing what all rounded phone must have. Camera and performance really is a worth the purchase.

I previously had an iphone 13 and decided to upgrade to the 14 pro hoping that the batteries would be similar or better. in my use cases they batteries are on par with one another and for some that may seem like a big loss, but the standard 13's battery was so good that having it again on the 14 pro model is amazing.
Same I switched from regular 13 to 14 pro and love it! 13 had an amazing battery life that I’m hoping for same and so far it’s pretty good.

I’ve ordered the iphone 14 pro, mainly because I sympathise for my partners XS so I’m handing the 13 pro over to her. But my god the 13 pro has been the best iphone I’ve ever owned, to have the 120hz, camera and that battery as someone who uses the phone for both personal and business it’s been awesome to have spare juice by the time I go to bed … but the IOS 16 update has definitely affected it so I 🤞🏼 that the 14 pro can have similar battery life

I use the 13 Pro Max and it does really well even after an hour. An entire day of usage will still leave me with about 40% left. I’d say get this over the 14 and 14 plus

This must be the most accurate battery test because you included standby time as if you had it in your pocket during the day. All the other tests are using the phones constantly which isn't 100 percent realistic
Other's are doing it excessively. Maybe in their lifestyle but you won't go that way if you have busy life (sorry for my bad english).

To all 13 Pro Max Users: Don’t upgrade to iOS 16 if you haven’t.
My battery got worse by about 1-2 hrs screen on time. I don’t think its THAT worth the upgrade. Unless you don’t mind losing those 1-2 hrs screen on time

Btw the battery health of all of the devices was counteracted by calculating the results to make up for the loss in battery capacity. FYI they are, 13 Pro Max: 97%, 13 Pro: 95%, 12: 88% and the rest were at 100%

I have the 13 pro and i have battery difficulties. Since ios 16, the max capacity dropped by 4%! It’s now on 92 max capacity. The phone gets hot quiet often even when I am going on safari and youtube. So yeah ios 16 is not great for my battery. Normally i would get 7-9 hours of screen on time and now 4-7.

The results in this test are almost entirely down to iOS 16 not being optimised for the 13 series of phones. I own an iPhone 13 Pro Max and my battery went from 10-14 hours of SOT on iOS 15 to 7-10 hours on 16 depending on what apps I was using.
Having done the iOS 16.0.3 update, I'm back to 12 hours average.
I honestly think you need to redo this test.

Hey thanks for the video that was a great job and I’m sure that was a lot of work. Yeah I got the regular iPhone 13 and gets great battery life a little less since iOS 16 I have to admit it was getting close to eight hours but now it’s less but they still great battery life
I've been running with the beta builds of iOS 16.1 and battery life is getting a bit better. It should release in the next few weeks.

You should really do these tests on cellular and not wifi, most people use their phones on cellular way more then they do on wifi, so that would mimic real world application more and the difference can be quite dramatic.

I don’t know what’s the problems with 13 pro..i was getting around 8.5 hours of heavy usage when i was in ios 15.7 but now after updating to ios 16 battery life is very worst than ever..i am getting around 5-6 hours..i am very disappointed with ios 16 update…😔😔
That’s a massive difference between the 13 Pro Max and the 14 Pro Max. Think this is mostly because the 14 can refresh all the way down to 1 hz whereas the 13 can’t go further than 10 hz. And maybe also because one comes with iOS 16 out of the box and the other doesn’t.
Btw the 14 only goes down to 1 hz in always on display mode otherwise on usual use it does go down to 10 hz only just like the 13

My 13 pro max gave me screen on time of 9hrs and 55 mins. Battery percentage fell from 75 to 20 percent at mixed usage of playing game, insta,Facebook and UA-cam at 1080p. Battery health is still at 100%. I charge my cellphone max upto 83 and once only charged beyond 90 to 91. I think chaging below 90 helps maintaining battery health
Yeah, I made the mistake of using the the same phone heavily and then charging it overnight with a wired charge. Over about 6 months of doing that it only dropped to 95% but since I stopped charging it overnight it’s only dropped 1% in about 7 months of heavy use.

When the 13pro max runs on iOS 15. I would hit 12-13hrs screen time. Once I upgraded to iOS 16. It hitting 10-11 if I’m lucky. I’m blaming iOS 16 for nerfing my battery. Apple knew the 13pro max would outlast the 14pro max if they didn’t downgrade it from the upgrade

Nothing has really changed that much with the 14, and this is coming from someone with the 11 Pro Max.
If you already own an iPhone 13 Pro Max, you don't need to replace it with a new one this year, unless you want higher photo quality!

though he didnt mention what are the battery health on these iphones, I do believe the ios 16 play a major role on battery usage longevity of the old models. 13 was release last year with ios 15.0 since then it receives atleast 5 small updates before the ios 16 came out.

@@bobd429 actually iOS 16 kinda messed up the battery and the new iOS 16.01 kinda fixed it, so even with my 12 pro I still get about 4-6 hours of constant use, with iOS 16 it was between 4 to 5 hours, and iOS made my phone boil more often than normal

It's not accurate check last year iphone 13 pro max it lasted 9h and 52 minutes longer than the iphone 14 pro max this test is not fair since the iphone 13 pro max has been used so the battery health isnt at 100%

I went from the iPhone 12 to the iPhone 14 Pro (with 2 Samsungs in between) and the battery is definitely better for me with the 14 pro than with the 12; I can get a full days use of the 14 pro, getting as low as 9% before getting home from work, whereas my iPhone 12 had to be charged up at least once throughout the day while at work.
I recently swapped to the 14 pro max for the bigger screen and the battery is even better, with me still being at around 40% by around midnight
Which samsungs models in between? I switched 13 pm to s23 u. Regretting very low volumn of s23 u due to single speaker at bottom , low battery performance than i13pm ,no screen protector due to curve display

I see a load of nonsense on Twitter saying the iPhone 14 PM is worse than last year’s 13PM but in most videos and tests I have seen that is fake. I suspect a lot of the people complaining are still having indexing and background activity and maybe bugs from iOS 16. The latest beta (16.1) will help with all these phones, well it has improved my 13PM by about 20% over iOS 16.0.
I suspect if you do this test when iOS 16.1 is out, they will all do a lot better. I am not a power-user so can get two days easily on my 13PM, so any improvements with the 14 are just extra icing on the cake rather than useful.
I was going for 14 pro but people are saying it has the worst battery than 13pro so now m having second thoughts.
@@MuscularMan008 It has more battery and probably will be better after the software tweaks since ios 16 seems to be a bit buggy. Also if you just turn off the always on display it might help, since their implementation of it isn't the best for battery.

At launch till the iPhone 13 series, the pro models at launch gave a performance of about 9 hours for the pro models and about 13 hours for the pro max models.
This trend is something I've been noticing from the iPhone 11 series.
But this year at launch the 14 pro performs around 7:30-8 hours and 14 pro max perfumes about 10 hours.
Battery performance drop of 1 hour on the pro model and about 2 hour drop on the 14 pro max model.
Do you guys agree on this? I'd be happy to be proved wrong as I want to purchase the phone w the dynamic island or shall i wait till next year?
Good test, but I think the main drain on the 14 Pros is the cameras. Did you use the cameras to take photos at all?
Could be. I filmed for about 25 minutes and did a video call for half an hour. And took pictures for around 5-10 minutes

I have an iPhone 13 Pro and I can say that the battery life has gotten noticeably worse since I updated the IOS. Before I used to get through a whole day and sometimes even two days, now I find my self charging it daily.

On your 13 battery test your 13 pro max when it was new got 12:44 which is a lot more than the 14 pro max. So my conclusion is that with a brand new battery the 13 pro max throttles the 14 pro max
Nada que ver, primero tienes que pensar un poco, no utilizo las mismas aplicaciones hoy y el otro año que hizo la prueba, probablemente hoy utilizo aplicaciones que haga que las baterías se descarguen mas rápido y la vez pasada no fue así, si tu teoría fuera cierta aquí por lo menos el iPhone 13 Pro Max hiciera 10 horas, pero como tu teoría no es cierta estuvo por debajo prácticamente 1 hora, y tal vez si la vida útil de la batería estuviera al 100% del iPhone 13 Pro Max pudiera llegar a estar por debajo del iPhone 14 pro Max unos 40 minutos o 30, ya que no hay mucha diferencia con la vida útil si todavía no baja a los 80%.

Different apps have different power consumption too. You can kill the battery with just 5-6 hours if you running a heavy game like Genshin Impact on max setting. So the last test was x:y time is meaningless.. It was a different iOS, it was a different environment, and also it was with different apps. Similar to you, even if you can run 20 mins without any problem, you can do that under the water without any oxygen mask, just because the environment is different, you can't compare the time from the previous test there too..
On ios16 I have 12h SOT (20% of the battery left) on my ip 13 pro max. This 13ka pro max works strangely. By a strange coincidence, in every other test, the 14k battery is weaker than the 13k, and here ...
Ah I did a test too with pro max 14, 9am 100% to 9pm 50% (regular usage, social media and streaming)

Everyone will hate me here 😂 but I have the iP SE 2022 😂 O can’t say a bad word about it, I know the battery is not the best (quite the opposite 😂), but since I am not scrolling all day on UA-cam and I have stuff to do, I usually hold with 60% in the evening. And yes, I am using it quite a lot for my taste. I will definitely buy a newer one in the future with a better battery life, but for now, I’m safe with this one. Very good video!!! Great job!!
