Seen some on other channels and even vs 11 Pro, without zooming in image quality isn’t much different in bright outdoor conditions. Medium and low light though, beginning with 13 Pro it was a drastic improvement from 12P and earlier. Huge. I personally noticed this going from an 11 Pro to a 13 Pro one year ago, especially moderate light detail is much better and larger sensor lets more light in to begin with. This video made me confirm that my decision was correct not to upgrade to the 15 Pro. I think I will keep it for a longer period as well, even if the iPhone 16 Pro is released. Maybe i will reconsider when the 17 Pro comes out
Exactly why I upgraded from my 14 Pro to the 15 Pro. Software plays a HUGE part in overall photo quality and I’m Glad Smart HDR 5 has addressed a lot of the issues I’ve complained about for years.
@@MatthewVlossak do it, I was shocked at the difference Smart HDR 5 made. Not a surprise though, Google has done this year in and year out with their Pixel line! Software matters more than hardware!

I think 15 PM is the most balanced smartphone camera in terms of HDR, color, texture, white balance control, flare control, DSLR level 5x portraits from these and i was able to guess more than 80 percent correct. 15 PM is the most refined in this sensor size generation until the sensor sizes of all cameras are upgraded, with the only weakness of the minimum focus distance of ulta wide issue. Kudos to Apple engineers and no words about the video performance which are generations ahead of competitors
Switched from 13 Pro to 15 Pro, glad that I didn’t go with the Max version, use more like 3x lens. But for close-up shots I noticed immediately that phone is switching to ultra wide, and I prefered shots from 13 Pro. Still like more details on 15 Pro.

one of the main reasons I was looking to upgrade was for better cameras. While the 15 is better , it's definitely not significantly better. I think ill keep my 13 for another year, its still a fantastic phone.
This is the video we were waiting for!!!! Thank you guys, you are amazing (Angelica always adds up some sweetness to these videos too)!!! It helps us a lot before spending money on upgrades... My score was also similar, 15PM the clear winner, second 13PM e third the 14PM, but i confess some pictures in which i thought the 13PM was reallly tied, i gave it to it, just because it is the underdog... But except on very few cases, the differences were very tiny... Summarizing, another year without upgrading, thank you guys!!! Cheers from Brazil!!!

I can already see major differences between the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Pro Max. I feel like I actually got a far better upgrade! I love my 15 Pro Max. If the camera is so much better, then it’s worth it! The iPhone 13 Pro Max looks washed out in low light compared to the 15 Pro Max. I use my camera a lot. I also zoom in a lot, especially when I record videos of my speaker drivers I have. I love the zoom capabilities. Even when I zoom in on this UA-cam video, I can clearly see a difference between the 15 Pro Max and 13 Pro Max in good light environments. I can see that the 15 Pro Max is a bit sharper even in good light. I noticed the fur on the dog looks a ton better on the 15 Pro Max when I zoom in on the UA-cam video. Apple did a good job. However, the 13 Pro Max is a capable camera phone as well, but the 15 Pro Max seems improved. I also had screen burn-in on my iPhone 13 Pro Max, 88 percent battery health, and the phone attracts fingerprints easily. Overall, the 15 Pro Max is a good refresh for me.
Honestly it’s hard to upgrade now knowing these cameras seems to be going backwards…I like the 14 better for the color of the photos…what pisses me off is knowing they chose not to give the software updates to the phones….the only photo I didn’t pick the 14 pro max was the trees with lights distance in the dark shot that I would never take anyway….your videos are amazing and legitimately a game changer….
thanks for this video.. really proves that it is good to upgrade every 3 or 4 years else there will only be incremental upgrades. To the untrained eyes, all these images looks good.
The image of the guitar player is what’s sold me on the 15 over my 13. So glad to see a bias towards allowing some noise to keep things sharp over the 13s water color effect
My results 15PM - 18 Best/ 7 worst 14PM - 8 Best / 11 Worst 13PM - 9 Best / 16 Worst I was thinking of keeping my 14Pro but now not sure 😅. Good fun.. great jobs guys!
What was not shown is the horrendous transition betwen lenses (e.g., 77 of the telephoto lens then down to 76mm forcing a lens shift) and close up photos. Play with the cams in store and do some light pixel peeping. Again, it's about trade offs - may work for some but not all.
Were the 13 and 14 upgraded to the same iOS 17 as the 15? I don't see where the video says? Apple made software improvements to the camera, but Apple also may have blocked some camera improvements to the older phones even though the same hardware
Great video! Just got my 15 Pro Max today (upgraded from 14 pro max which I do every year with Apple trade in) love the titanium and rounded corners. Haven’t had time yet to try the camera. Hi from 🇬🇧
It boils down to improved HDR, and if you plan on using the pic on a screen larger than your laptop where twice the megapixels would make a difference in detail. Some instances the 15 has a little less noise.
Is sad how apple artificially created a clear difference between 14 and 15 having the same sensor, and almost the same processing power. It is sad that something like the background blur which is 100% artificially created, is super different.
We did blind test iPhone 14 Pro vs Honor Magic 5 PRO.... and to our surprise photos from the Honor looked mostly better (especially zoom and low light).
No you can’t tell the difference… basically iPhones have pretty much peaked in improvements and it’s not like the old days where it felt like every generation of iPhones were revolutionary compared to today’s iPhones.
actually theres an off switch for the macro to unable the switching lens issue.. and guess what i got 2 wrongs for this video ip15pro max has a warmer photo and dynamic range
I have 14 pro max and I'm thinking to upgrade to 13 pro max skin tone colors! In your test you only care about more details in the photos which fir sure the 48MP will always gives better, dynamic range and 5x portrait is something nice for the 15 pro max but non of them have 13 portrait and skin tones colors
Capture at 48MP HEIC looks amazing on 17.1 beta 2. Of course this only is with 1X. Any other mode including night defaults to 12MP. We really need a pro camera app like Sony has with their Xperia phones!
You guys keep saying “Same hardware.. same hardware” But it’s not. Sure, sensors might be the same, but the ISP is different because of A17 vs A16 vs A15. The Image Signal Processor is where the hardware differs
Bottom line, there's pretty much no difference/improvement in the last few years. It is all marketing stuff, changing iPhone more often than 3/4 years makes almost 0 sense...
These cameras are so similar in most cases that majority of everyday users will not notice a difference without them being side by side. Nobody takes the same images with different cameras, so in real life use, upgrading to the latest 15 pro simply because of the camera is absolutely not worth it.
How do you guys get it wrong when its obvious where the 13 is when is with human subjects. always lights up the face..... Feels like the higher megapixel count makes more truble than helps ..
It does seem that the 15 takes the warmest/amber tint shots. It is so different from the other two at times it would be good to know from the photographer which shot replicates the colours the best.

Apple needs a big improvement like was from iPhone 8 to iPhone X. I’m still waiting with my 13 Max. 14 an 15 it’s just a little bit of a difference between 13.
Unless you don’t take portrait shots then your 13 Pro Max is still very good.
Ils tout les trois des smartphones de qualité alors qu’est-ce qu’on veut ils ont le même iOS la même compagnie tout ça je ne vous comprends nous les humains 😅
8 and X had the same main camera...
@@jimmyvicemetellus5583because of greed
i just bought 13 pro max 256 GB varient again after 2 year. Not gonna lie, this phone is still Beast❤️🔥.. i ran speed test on 15 max pro and 13 pro max, only slight difference. Camera also Tier 1 Quality.
i will Update only with 16 or 17, there is Going to be major update
Can we get an updated version of this video, with the 16 pro?
I gotta say, that blue of the 13 pros line up is with the green probably the best color ever (at least for me)
I would go for the 13 pro max just because I don't like the eSIM thing!
one of the main reasons I was looking to upgrade was for better cameras. While the 15 is better , it's definitely not significantly better. I think ill keep my 13 for another year, its still a fantastic phone.
I can tell that you guys previously worked as photographers. Great review!
Yo wtf I didn’t know they was 2 different people lol. Mind is blown 🤯
I feel uploading the pictures and making a poll for us to pick which we feel are best is the best way to go my opinion
My score was
13: 11
14: 0
15: 22
This was just me picking which ones I personally preferred. Though im honestly surprised that I didnt pick a single 14 photo
(I currently have the 13PM)
The fact that it is this close has me canceling my pre-order of the 15. Even in the worse photos from the 13 can be fixed with thrid party tools
this video makes me feel good that i didn't upgrade my 13pro max yet. gonna wait for another year or two.
@@newgoblin49 i was going to but there is nothing worth upgrading for. Over half the software features are not even available yet. They keep saying later this year or next year. Probably one more year. Will have to by next year cause I'm running out of storage space.
Super video! Thank you for doing these comparisons year over year! Very helpful! Keep up the outstanding work.
woow i did not expect to see max here its been 5 months since last video, miss him so much.
My results
15PM - 18 Best/ 7 worst
14PM - 8 Best / 11 Worst
13PM - 9 Best / 16 Worst
I was thinking of keeping my 14Pro but now not sure 😅. Good fun.. great jobs guys!
You have 35 "bests" but only 34 "worsts".
Cos there was 1 photo where both 13Pm & 14Pm were equally bad couldn’t decide which was worst
Same boat I’m in. The software upgrade on the 15’s fixed a lot of problems I had with my 14 Pro’s photos!
@@MatthewVlossak Problems edits couldn't fix ? Or did you leave all your photos untouched?
Hi from 🇬🇧
13 pm still amazing but sometimes the 48 mp on the other two makes a difference
I don’t have any complaints about my 13 Pro Max. Does some great pictures. All depends on the scene you’re trying to capture.
Agree. And good pictures depend way more on the person taking them.
I have 7 plus now … which one is more comfortable me to upgarade? 13 pro max or 15 pro max??
15 pro max is best bcz of camera details and software updates hardware also
Welcome back Angelica! Always great to see her being part of your videos
No you can’t tell the difference… basically iPhones have pretty much peaked in improvements and it’s not like the old days where it felt like every generation of iPhones were revolutionary compared to today’s iPhones.
Yes, it is slower evolution. Even when you compare iPhone 14 to iPhone 15 they look almost identical (apple calls it "All new design")
It has been the case for the last 4/5 years...no reason to update iPhone until it gets software updates...
This lady has grown so much in years, she's looking gorgeous, I'm crushing on her 😂
ikr? whats her @?
actually theres an off switch for the macro to unable the switching lens issue.. and guess what i got 2 wrongs for this video ip15pro max has a warmer photo and dynamic range
Please remember the person holding the camera can make any photo look epic or poor.
Wow the iPhone 15 pro max wow can't wait to get mines by the end of October close to the 1st of November i enjoyed the video
You know they could just update the 14s software to be the same, but instead they don’t to justify the 15.
It’s mostly just software that makes the difference.
Definitely getting the iphone 15 pro max
After watching i will continue use my ip 13prm. 😂
13 pro max what I have needs Not any upgrade! I’m very happy with 13🎉
13 pro max looks nicer in skin tone and blues tbh than the 15 at times
Capture at 48MP HEIC looks amazing on 17.1 beta 2.
Of course this only is with 1X. Any other mode including night defaults to 12MP.
We really need a pro camera app like Sony has with their Xperia phones!
For general public iPhones are fine...
@@xhobv02General public here speaking. They aren't fine and would benefit from a Pro camera app.
I had almost as many 13 as I did 15. And the most in "too close to call". Feeling better about not upgrading yet.
You guys keep saying “Same hardware.. same hardware” But it’s not. Sure, sensors might be the same, but the ISP is different because of A17 vs A16 vs A15. The Image Signal Processor is where the hardware differs
For small increment in Camera, Type C is the Real Hero of 15 Pro and Pro max
Bottom line, there's pretty much no difference/improvement in the last few years. It is all marketing stuff, changing iPhone more often than 3/4 years makes almost 0 sense...
These cameras are so similar in most cases that majority of everyday users will not notice a difference without them being side by side. Nobody takes the same images with different cameras, so in real life use, upgrading to the latest 15 pro simply because of the camera is absolutely not worth it.
You guys need a rig that takes the photos at the same time, it’s not a real comparison
Nice comparison. I appreciate the wide range of photos you compared.
The Family portrait in the farm. Didnt expect it was the 13PM
Is it an apple watch on you. Which model is this ?
How do you guys get it wrong when its obvious where the 13 is when is with human subjects. always lights up the face..... Feels like the higher megapixel count makes more truble than helps ..
The blur on the 15 Pro portraits looks a little artificial or not? Or is that just a setting?
I am confused. How do you take the exactly same photos with moving objects from the exactly same angle?
What state were these photos taken in? Looks beautiful
Watching on my 13pro max…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My next upgrade mybe 16pro max😁
13 pro/max best iPhone to buy right now. Half the price of a 15 pro/max... Same screen, same battery life, almost same speed, still great camera.
Do you recommend 13 pro max or 14 promxa
@@samikshyakc988 Ιf you can find a really good condition with over 90% battery health i'd get the 13 pro max.
throw in the vanilla iPhone 15, just want to see.
I3 is looking good.
It does seem that the 15 takes the warmest/amber tint shots. It is so different from the other two at times it would be good to know from the photographer which shot replicates the colours the best.
This was an amazing video. Video next? I really enjoy my 13 pro max and macro photography. Hopefully next 3 gens are major leaps forward!
