Tron: Legacy is a special movie to me. My dad and I went to the cinema back in the day to watch it, and we ended up loving it. It became the kind of flick we would go back to again and again. We would even listen to the soundtrack album from time to time. In a sense, it was pretty much our movie, just like The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Star Wars franchise; we would always watch those together. It’s been a bit hard to rewatch Tron: Legacy since my dad passed away, in 2018. It’s tough not to remember him, by my side, talking about how amazing the Daft Punk score is and how he’d always know I was smiling whenever Sam entered his dad’s secret office at the arcade to the muffled sound of Eurythmics’ “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)”, one of our favorite songs. Everything you’ve highlighted about Legacy is precisely what made us love this movie so much. I’m genuinely happy people are seeing more of the substance that the film has. Thank you for making this video, man. It’s truly special. 💙
Fortunately I had the opportunity to watch the movie on theaters with my dad. Throughout the years I’ve watched it probably more than 15 times and man this movie has grown so much into my persona. Maybe not my favorite movie but definitely top 5, it’s just amazing
I feel like tons of people have been rediscovering this movie in the past year. Not sure why but I’m really glad it’s happening. Tron as a franchise has so much fascinating potential and I’m stoked to see so many new fans realizing that.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who still loves this movie. I remember going to the theaters in 2010 and 8 year old me had a blast. Daft Punk’s entire soundtrack album of this movie is a masterpiece.
Ah I love seeing some love for this film. It’s developed a cult following it so deserves. I revisit Tron Legacy at least once a year. I don’t often defend any criticisms against it; all I can ever say is “I love it. I just love it, pure and simple.”
Tron Legacy is an underrated movie. I'm glad I got to watch it back when it was in theaters, and I relate heavily to your point at the end. Good stuff.
Maybe it's because I play the soundtrack to death or because this film is such an inspiration to me as a storyteller working on a webcomic, but this is one of my favorite video essays of yours. It's so easy to tell how sincere and passionate you are about this movie (for good reason, the shit SLAPS). You killed it, dude. Awesome job 😁👍🏾
@@abhiramkrishnan7202 Yeah, sure there’s that, but it’s still not brilliant visuals effects, in my opinion it was just really talented people who didn’t really appreciate the limits of the technology they were working with. Since then there have been practically perfect cgi people such as De-aged Kurt Russel in Guardians of the Galaxy 2. If they did it today, I’m sure de-aged Jeff Bridges would look incredible.
Tron Legacy is what caused my love for cyberpunk entertainment. If it wasn't for Tron Legacy, I would have likely never watched Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell, No Guns Life or, especially, Akudama Drive. This movie shaped the way I viewed sci-fi more than any other movie except maybe Star Wars (but I view it more as fantasy than sci-fi)
When I first saw it I was disappointed but thought that it was visually stunning. After revisiting it everything about it came together for me and I now treasure this movie! Dope review, thanks! J
Tron was one of my Favorite films of all time. When the Sequel was coming, My Dad was hyped. My dad showed me the original before watching Legacy. I was in love. So when I went to theaters, I was watching Beauty. I was in Heaven. I felt in another world like in the original. I love this more then Star Wars. I still love Star Wars. But I think Tron was a little bit better.
I loved this movie as a kid and as I've rewatched it over the years, I've somewhat anticipated to get to a point where I understand the lukewarm reception it got when it came out. But, like, I only appreciate it more
I was just an kid, taked some time for my father catch in the video store. I loved, black, the lightcycles... Until this day, I want a Tron III. And later, I watched Tron I... man was difficult.
Don’t really have any strong feelings on this movie tbh but I will say I LOVE Tron’s “I fight for the users” moment near the end of the film. For a movie that didn’t impact me emotionally in any way that moment SLAPS
I rewatch Tron Legacy every couple of years. It’s just so awesome - cinematography, story, characters, special effects, cinematography, visual style, cinematography, MUSIC. It’s addictive, I can’t stop watching it. I don’t get why Disney can’t make a sequel for so many years.
Was absolutely obsessed with this movie in grade 6, pushed me into that edgy teen phase early and started my interest in movie OST’s. Was so ahead of it’s time
I actually never saw Tron's original movie or the Legacy movie I just watched the Tron Uprising series once and I was caught in its magic never before I thought that Neon Lights everywhere could look so fucking beautiful and never before had I experienced before what it is like to decide what is real and what is fake since Tron takes place in a digital world recent anime Vivy Fluorite Eye's Song reminded me of that pain again of watching a show about digital creatures being killed off even though they too had the right to live in short I just like the message of Tron along with the style of it
This review almost got me crying. The message is so, so beautiful and relatable. We are currently living on a world packed up of young Flynns and CLUs, when all we need is more Quorras
Loved the video! That ending of the video really got to me and made me tear up man! Can't wait for to see more from you! I'm gonna rewatch Tron Legacy now
Bro, I dont know is you gonna believe me, but I went to the premiere of tron with my mom in the theather of my city, and litterally it was just me and my mom, and none on else, was a impressive experience, I have 8 years old but then.
As goofy and plodding as the original is, it was and still is, completely unique. I don't know what they were smoking when they wrote it, but hot damn... incredible. It inspired me as a kid to end up as a programmer. To think differently about the world around me because what if... And then Tron Legacy. Already much older, in my career. That movie hits hard. And it hits in all the right places. To the point where you can forgive the deaged Flynn face (I believe that was the first attempt at something like that). The balls to ask Daft Punk to not just write music for the film, but to actually SCORE the whole thing... that's impressive alone. And then Liseberger... that man has an incredible talent for visuals in film. To take the grid and update it so that it still looked ridiculously cool and computery by our standards was no simple task, but they nailed it. And the core story about humanity... beautiful. Disney needs to just grow a pair and let this continue. These two movies are going to stand the test of time and be around, talked about, watched, long after people have stopped caring about live-action Beauty and the Beast. And with all of that they still managed to have some of the most awesome action sequences ever.
I agree that Tron is underrated, but I also feel you on struggling with work/life balance. I'm also trying to develop a career in filmmaking, but I'm also balancing a fulltime job on top of that so it makes it hard for me to allow myself to spend time with friends and family when I constantly feel like I gotta use all my free time for work.
You did an amazing job with this video. Tron has always had a special place in my heart. I loved the concept, the story, action, music, themes, everything about it. They did a really job of fleshing this world out by pulling on influences like human nature and religion. I can’t express how much I love this franchise. Thank you for touching on it 🙏🏽
A year ago yet just found and immensely profound, I loved this movie growing up and always felt it wasnt talked about enough. But this video encapsulates everything and brought me to tears. Thank you

I watched this for the first time when i was in 10th when I didn't know/look much into all the critic reviews, imdb, rotten tomatoes stuff. Fell in love with it. The look and feel of the movie and the fucking amazing soundtrack just made a mark in my head. It was only a few years later that I realized it was Underrated AF.
I was in 10th grade when I saw this too! A friend and I skipped school to watch it and we both loved it
Watched it in cinemas when I was 10 and it was the greatest cinematic experience I'd ever had! Still adore this criminally underrated film
Tron Legacy is still one of my fondest and loved cinema experiences
Nah I'm not gonna change your mind. You're absolutely correct.
My only problem is that ended, and I don't mean the movie, I mean Tron as a franchise. Disney didn't touch it anymore after that and that short-lived TV show. Though there are rumours but they've been around for ages and nothing came out of them.
At the same time though, it’s nice that it ended on a high note (Uprising).
@@KizaruB yup, Uprising was great.
The shot of Sam whizing through the Dim lit streets of what was essentialy Vancouver on his Dicati was the Highlight for me. It instantly pulled me in. I knew that i was in for a great cinematic experience. It also Made me a motorcycle Fan. I wanted to get a Café racer as soon as i could get a license.
that scene with that music... one of my favorite scenes from all times
Seriously, no idea why anyone says this movie is bad
I absolutely adores this movie and I'm glad that it's getting recognized
Thing I love about this channel is that it puts the spotlights on underrated gems and have people talking about it like what you did for the batman 04 and now one of my favorite movie ia gonna have the same treatment thank you for doing this Mauricio
I felt like I was watching a live action anime! After having watched this my expectations for movies was never the same again. It was simply at another level
Tron Legacy is a perfect movie about humanity and self conflict
This is a great film, I’m sad they took it off of Disney plus:(
They did *WHAT!?*
Wtf why???
Because for them it isn't woke enough.
@@razrxo contract dispute - they licensed it out to a different service before Disney+ first launched, so they’ve gotta wait until the contract is up to bring it back.
Its my favorite movie and I can't believe it imma cry
Glad to know that some people still love this awesome movie
You know what else is cinema, Tron Uprising. Just as amazing and similarly deserves more attention.
I was first introduced to Tron by KH2, and I've loved the series ever since.
It’s been amazing to watch how much you’ve grown the past few years. This video captured everything that made this movie special to me. Thanks man.
I loved this film as kid, looks like it's time to watch it again. 🥺😭💓
Ah I love seeing some love for this film. It’s developed a cult following it so deserves.
I revisit Tron Legacy at least once a year. I don’t often defend any criticisms against it; all I can ever say is “I love it. I just love it, pure and simple.”
I’ve missed Browntable’s videos so much. Always has emotion and heart in the videos while making me laugh
Visually this movie was PERFECT
Okay that’s not entirely true, because CGI Jeff Bridges is just bad.
Well for that time it wasnt completely horrible. It was still better than the cg Arnie in terminator salvation.
I actually kinda liked the uncanny look even though it wasn't intentional. It kinda showed how he was a flawed clone.
@@The_Story_Of_Us There's already deepfakes of Jeff Bridges on UA-cam where they fixed the visual effects in Tron Legacy.
@@Derpalon Yeah I just saw one, it looked great. I kinda want a cut of the film with those deepfakes now, not gonna lie.
As Marty would say:
"Cinema at it's finest. There's nothing like it."
Videos like these are what drove me to loving the art of cinema, which ultimately drove me to going to film school.
I loved this movie as a kid and as I've rewatched it over the years, I've somewhat anticipated to get to a point where I understand the lukewarm reception it got when it came out. But, like, I only appreciate it more
Saw it in the theater both parts. The second movie 30 yrs later, was so cool in 3D. I love Tron
Ah yes, Tron, one of my favorite series, and yet just one of the many franchises that had it’s potential cut short by Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm.
I was just an kid, taked some time for my father catch in the video store. I loved, black, the lightcycles... Until this day, I want a Tron III.
And later, I watched Tron I... man was difficult.
I won't forget seeing it in 3D. The 3D actually worked compared to other movies that used it as a marketing gimmick.
As underrated as this movie is, so is this video....
One of your best! Keep it up!
Thank you! This movie holds a special place in my heart and it’s soundtrack got me into making music.
I’m glad I’ve been seeing a good amount of Tron love over the past year or so. Good to see others love it and not just me. Keep up the good work
There’s been a rise in appreciation for 80s nostalgia, and they appeared on Disney+, so I’m not surprised
Don’t really have any strong feelings on this movie tbh but I will say I LOVE Tron’s “I fight for the users” moment near the end of the film. For a movie that didn’t impact me emotionally in any way that moment SLAPS
Loved this movie, and totally agree it has elements to it that are indescribable. Keep up the great work!
This comment section is so wholesomely full of fellow fans. I felt like I was the only one of my friends to get way into this movie when it came out.
Was absolutely obsessed with this movie in grade 6, pushed me into that edgy teen phase early and started my interest in movie OST’s. Was so ahead of it’s time
Tron: Legacy is still one of the movies I wish I could still watch in theaters today.
I'm gonna rewatch Tron Legacy now
Glad my dad was smart enough to take our family out to see this in IMAX when it came out.
Final two minutes had me getting teary-eyed, bruh
Glad to see Tron: Legacy is getting some respect
Honey wake up, browntable dropped another certified banger
Bro, I dont know is you gonna believe me, but I went to the premiere of tron with my mom in the theather of my city, and litterally it was just me and my mom, and none on else, was a impressive experience, I have 8 years old but then.
honestly when i was a kid i thought tron uprising was the coolest show ever made
As goofy and plodding as the original is, it was and still is, completely unique.
I can proudly say... I will never let go of my Tron double feature Blu-Ray. It may not be valuable but it's the crown jewel of my movie collection.👌
It’s really hard dude. I was doing YT and college and a part time job a year ago. I feel that. But you got this 😤🔥

@@Browntable Thanks man, appreciate the words
You did an amazing job with this video. Tron has always had a special place in my heart. I loved the concept, the story, action, music, themes, everything about it. They did a really job of fleshing this world out by pulling on influences like human nature and religion. I can’t express how much I love this franchise. Thank you for touching on it 🙏🏽
Excellent review. Seperate Ways and Sweet Dreams Are Made of These should not be ignored, like this movie almost was.
This is your best video.
But I'm also biased because I've always loved TRON Legacy
Tron legacy and uprising are absolute masterpiece . And extremely underrated.
Seeing it in theaters in 3D was awesome
Thank you for taking the time to make this, so happy that someone else appreciates this masterpiece like it deserves. 🙏🏻
Dude...this is beautiful! I'm a subscriber now!
A year ago yet just found and immensely profound, I loved this movie growing up and always felt it wasnt talked about enough. But this video encapsulates everything and brought me to tears. Thank you
Nothing better than seeing a UA-camr you like cover one of the coolest movies you’ve ever seen.
"And it blew me!" "Away"
I had that epiphany while watching Legacy recently where I took a step back and said “I feel like such a nerd for watching this”
At least it’s good nerdiness tho 😉
