To give context, Disturbed started working on this song when their guitarist was going through a divorce. While working on it, David went through his own divorce. That pain that you can feel is real and I've always attributed the ending screams as to just getting the emotions out.
Hi Jennifer the songbis about divorce. His bandmate's divorce and then David's Divorce later on. Ann still Rocks at 73.FYI David only wanted Ann for this duet.
Powerful song, and David and Ann sound great together. Disturbed has been doing this one live, with the lead vocalist from the opening band, Plush, doing Ann's part. Moriah Formica is the perfect person to stand in for Ann, her voice has the same power and heft that Ann does. I recommend checking out their song "Run" from Plush's latest EP, "Find The Beautiful". Great band, each member is a strong musician.
the vengeful one, inside the fire, stricken, stupify, perfect insanity, land of confusion, 10000 fists, open your eyes, the light, another way to die, the night, the animal, asylum
strange to hear someone with a uk accent say, "y'all"🤣 this is the epitome of the perfect song.....everything goes together, the lyrics, the video, the music....the guitar solo signifying the toxic part of the relationship.....then the more subdued instrumental ending as they go there own way with no more drama---jmo.....what ya think jen?....over-analyzing?
Great breakdown, as usual. Your voice cracking made me chuckle. Speaking of duets, have you checked out Daughtry and Lzzy Hale singing Journey? The UA-cam algorithm added it to my page a while back, for some reason, after watching a bunch of 90's industrial metal videos. So I went ahead and checked it out and afterwards thought "Wasn't expecting that".
Hi Jennifer I was wondering if you've heard of a band called The Warning. They are sisters from Monterey Mexico and their ages are 24,22 and 19 and they celebrated their 10 th Anniversary last year.
Yeah, David was trained as a Cantor in his youth. It's a beautiful song, that was very likely inspired by David's divorce. I rather enjoy singing along on this one.
Jennifer! Hmm, this one looks interesting. David Draiman and Ann Wilson? An unlikely pairing no? Wow, interesting start. David has such deep richness to his voice and this breathy quality is new to me. Nash is getting in a few words as well isn't he? 😁 Such a stark video in black and white that I guess fits the song. I don't know what I expected but they sounded good together actually didn't they? Great reaction and analysis as always Jen (and Nash!)
I love both disturbed and Ann. David and Ann both have amazing voices, however I don't think either came to their respective potential in this song. Personally, I'm actually disappointed. It could have been so much better. They are both at 70%.

I love this song. I recently got to see disturbed in concert, and David duetted this song with Moriah Formica of Plush. They absolutely killed it.

I say this because we are human and as such we can all make mistakes.

If you like his breathy cleaner voice, check out Darkness.

Actually it was inspired by Dan Donegan's divorce. David's came after this was recorded for the Divisive album.
