    I love this series with you 2 guys. fine playing from both. You are one of the very best jazz teachers in my opinion. Making it very understandable and put in a real world scenario....I might have to join your patreon:)

    Cool Stuff! @Rotem Sivan, in Level 7, when using the 2 permutations of the Diminished scale, you end up on the A7 chord using the notes of the H-W diminished scale starting on Bb, while usually it is used the H-W diminished scale starting on A... so you use the Maj7th on an A7 chord. I wouldn't ever think at that usage of the dimnished scale, but it sounds so cool! How's that?

    • @nicolaslher
      @nicolaslher 2 роки тому +1

      The idea is to use the diminished arpeggio Bb-C#-E-G and play a chosen interval after each note , here a major second down, the first 2 notes are Bb-Ab (wish is indeed a major 7 but the context phrase overrule the harmony) You can use this idea with other intervals like in the next example, a 4th up

    Am I the only one who finds playing minor 2 5 1's easier more natural and "homey"? Melodies just make sense. on the other hand playing major 2 5 1 for me I find it more difficult to make lines and sound good. always sounds like an exercise!

    Diminished: Whole half whole half...
    Dominant Diminished: half whole half whole...
