One of the best and clearest explanations I've ever heard of the ii-V-i structure and its many options. Thanks, Andrew!
Thanks so much for watching Marcia!
thank you for the video and pdf! very clearly explained
thanks for checking it out Sax Spy!
Beautiful playing.
This is good summary of the scales of the II-V-cadense. Though the fingering is bit unusual for me as a guitarist. Which is good also. Thank You.

Really enjoyed this approach - find it very useful the way the video (and the pdf package which I've purchases) take us through diatonic to be-bop and then to more outside lines. I hope Andrew might offers something similar for the major II V 1s (I realized there are such packages already available on Jazz Lesson Videos - but would welcome some more along these lines - with Andrew's approach)
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind feedback!
One of my favorite ways to play a minor 251 is to play a back-door major 251. So over Em-A7-Dm, think Gm-C7-Dm. It makes it easier for me because I can then play bebop vocabulary and the C7 bebop scale over the whole 2-5.
Can you explain the idea of this substitution? I don't get it 😅
@@gospodineI think the idea is that an upper structure built from Ehalf dim would be Gminor, and an upper structure from A7b9 would be C7. Basically it’s the same notes you’d normally aim for anyways, just an easier way to think of tjem
Either you guys are secretly spectating my practice sessions or something weird is happening, because you ALWAYS put out a video on a concept I am currently working on, on the very same day I start working on it! 🤣 Working on minor ii-V-i language and ear training for the next few weeks. Haven't watched the video yet, but I know it's going to be a banger!
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you're enjoying the videos!
Hi I liked this video , and purchased the 60 licks PDF early this morning but other than the receipt from PayPal I didn’t receive anything , normally I would expect a link to be sent to me more or less instantaneously , also I tried to apply the code for the $5 discount but that didn’t work so it ended up costing me $25
