Looking forward to all these videos Ben. Nice advocating for him. Got to love the lab and how quick they pick up a auto sit

Hey man I remember seeing you months ago on Instagram, was really impressed with how you explain things so simply. Love the timing of the dude coming out the pub 😂 Looking forward to seeing your channel blow up, you'll help a lot of dogs (and people)

My dog gets a lot more stressed at night. She a Weimaraner. She use to sleep outside on her own in a cage with minimum interaction. She use to be very stressed at nighttime being alone. Now she is extremely stressed on our night walks. I like to let her sniff a lot of the time. And she isn’t very good at staying by my side. Especially at night she gets even more worked up. Anything you can suggest as I’ve tried to keep our evening walks similar to our daytime walks in terms of where we go and what I ask of her with recall/name calling. She will come and get treats at night. So she’s not at the level of stress where she won’t take food. Hope you can break this down for me. Love your videos . All about positive reinforcement and treats.

This might be a dumb question, but when you say loose leash walking is 10/10 - is the dog walking in front of you and if it's a loose lead that's still ok? Or does it mean the dog is by your side but loose lead?
I came across your channel and I love all your content!

This is actually a great question! To be honest, it very much depends on the dog and their behaviour overall. If you are happy with your dog being on a loose lead and they are slightly in front of you and they don’t cause any issues whatsoever during walks, then that’s fine. Usually though it is much more likely that a dog is going to behave better if they are by their owners side or even a little bit behind. I personally prefer them to be this way as it allows for much more control over any stressful situations that might occur.

@@balanceddoguk Awesome! Thank you so much! We'll continue to keep training her to be by my side but on a loose lead as she's a bit reactive to other dogs from a distance (fear based). Thanks!

Hey, love your channel. Been following you on Instagram for a while now 😊 do you ask the dog to be in heel for the whole walk or do you let the dog in front alittle i.e. loose leash? Thank you 😊

Thank you 🥰! So I will let them have breaks to sniff and go to the toilet (as long as they don’t pull on the lead while doing so). But it also depends on the walk I’m going on. Sometimes I want them in heel the whole time and sometimes I don’t. For example a highly populated area I would allow many breaks if any. If the dog gets off lead or free time elsewhere it’s not always necessary to give tons of breaks
