My $57,175 Pot Against Phil Hellmuth And Jeremy Kaufman!

- I had an amazing weekend in Philadelphia and the Sugarhouse Casino. I set out to do some commentary on the filming of Poker Night in America, but on the first night, I was able to hop in the game myself. Although the blinds were 25/50, it played much bigger, as there were tons of straddles and some very deep stacks. Today I go over the biggest hand played that night, which involved myself, Phil Hellmuth, and the exuberant business man Jeremy Kaufman.

As always, Doug breaks down each street of action. Poker Hands is the show where Doug analyzes live poker hands from tv poker shows such as Poker After Dark, EPT (European Poker Tour), High Stakes Poker, the World Series of Poker (WSOP), the Aussie Millions, WPT (World Poker Tour) the Big One For One Drop, and the PCA (Pokerstars Carribean Adventure). He especially enjoys reviewing hands by popular high stakes pros like Viktor "Isildur" Blom, Ike Haxton, Dan Cates (Jungleman), Tom "Durrrr" Dwan, Phil Ivey, and OtB_RedBaron.

Doug Polk Poker
Doug, I have a hand suggestion. The royal flush hand where a guy was all in on the turn with a set of queens, another guy made the royal on the river and a third guy bet-folded on the river.
wonderful pic with Phil
you must love kaufman i cant believe you didnt make fun of him in this video, where did you bought feelings?
The picture is just amazing! Good job coach Doug!
Even in 2017... You don't tap the glass.
I heard Neagreanu wanted to play in this game but rake wasn't high enough.
BWHAHAHAAHAHAHAH!!!!! Shade....
Whats the reference?
Neagreanu advertised a PokerStars game mode with very high rake, saying it's a good thing for the players since it weeds out the top players.
Then he straight up denies saying that at all, everything about that hairplug having ass is a lie.
Yea, people expect him to do that since he's paid millions by Pokerstars, but denying it afterwards after getting backlash is some pussy shit
"Son I'll tell you this much son I would never have put more than 3000 with pocket Kings before the flop." - Phil Hellmuth
But a K4..? Hes all in.
"Honey he raised with pocket kings"
Pocket kings honey!!
Such a donk move i know. I see two kings? I flat call.
He is some online guy, freaking idiot from north of europe...
harvey spectre Definitely would have been top comment. Pure comedy gold.
"Yeah honey, I have AQ and he calls me with pocket Kings! Fucking moron. We'll see if you're even around in five years!" Hahaha
That picture is perfect
Phil so salty
Has Phil Hellmuth ever won a hand on UA-cam?
I'm not sure if he's won a hand since 1989~ish
I am sure he has won many, many hands, but his winning hands were just too dull to put on youtube.
he has 3 bracelet wins+ on youtube
I like how D Neg always beats him with nothing when it comes to the river. lol
no he even lost once with a royal flush
The best part was them dissecting your check as if it were a bad move when you totally got the bluff out of it. No way possible you can get that much into the pot WITHOUT that check. Well played, sir. This is why I LOVE POKER. Always variables, always change, always adjusting.
Hey Doug. Can you teach me to flop set in a double straddle 3-bet 500bb game? It doesn't even have to be 25/50 or 500bb. thx buddy.
My guy Kaufman needs to meet THE GREAT GAME OF POT LIMIT OMAHA!! Can't be doing this type of stuff at NL
2:30 torelli would say “legally its a raise“
I met Phil at a dinner in Vegas over a decade ago. He was charming and generous.
Good to see his "real" personality come across in your "Hanging with Hellmuth" interview.
p.s.-- Phil's "trap" with AQ was very good considering her could be pretty sure you would raise after him. You having Kings was just a look likelihood hand. That woman with 88 played that hand like she played all night.
I prefer the drunken recap of this hand that you did with Phil, who has never cheated on his wife.
😂😂
hahahaha
ilovebrandnewcarpets lmfao
How can he have the time to cheat when hes always at the poker table?
tournaments don't give you the luxury to walk away when you want
Dear Doug,
I absolutely LOVE your channel. Your hand analyses (yes that's plural) are top notch. I love getting a view inside the mind of a professional. Your videos are crisp and to the point, thank you for all you've done so far and I can't wait for what's next.
Best of luck!
Awesome picture, and really expert commentary, Doug. Enjoyed the video a lot.
12:06 - "I mean, like, this kid has all the chips...how do these players even last this long?"
That's what Hellmuth's thinking in that frame. Guaranteed.
That picture must be your next poster
Thanks Doug. Your analysis has helped me win my local tourny two days in a row.
Sitting at a poker table: $40K. Getting all in with trip Kings: $72k. Getting a pic with a speechless Phil H: Priceless!
A set of Kings, not trips
@@TheGuyCalledX in some languages it is called - Trips
@@MrMrPopols cool but we're speaking English and the poker community has decided to distinguish trips from sets (you have a pocket pair)
This guys consistently with top quality videos along with sticking up for the players vs poker stars and not selling out. When I first subed I wondered how long it would be till he sold and he's still goin and keepin it positive. Somethin real special here but what made me write this comment was the small shoutout to the twitch comment showin me he's still stayin grounded to his fans even the littles detail doesn't get by this guy and he stays crushing it in poker. What a beast
Yes that was an awesome pic of Hellmuth gazing longingly at your big stack - you really should have that framed! The look on his face is PRICELESS!
Best picture ever! Haha.Way to crush it. I couldn't wait for this hand and it definitely didn't disappoint!
I am so jealous of that picture you got with Hellmuth. Definitely a bucket list item.
Beautifully told story, Doug. Thank you for sharing :).
On the subject of the bankroll challenge; I played and won my first £0.10 HUSNG the other day. I feel like I'm playing above my bankroll (90p) though.
Should I stop now to preserve my 100% winning record and avoid going broke?
L
That picture is absolute gold! You have to get a poster of it for your background!
Amazing play from the start ...and i really enjoy watching your videos ..keep em coming!
12:08 hahaha, That has to be one of my favourite poker pictures of all time too, very funny sir.
Frame that Pic of you and Phil and put it on the wall!!!
This
Deffo 1 for the wall haha
Just to let you guys know if you forgot about this comment, he actually ended up doing it :)
Doug I love the new pictures in the background :P
@Doug Polk - I used to get lower back pain on my squats too. I found putting the squat bar further back on my shoulders, "arching" or keeping my back tight, and looking up throughout the squat, keeps the weight on my heels and wouldn't you know it, no more back pain!
Thanks for the videos as always hope you get a chance to read this.
Great stuff, Doug. You're always so much fun.
That picture was just so good, had me in tears.
...The dissatisfied glare from Hellmuth on your pile... :D
I will admit that is a fantastic picture of you Doug!
that picture is epic !!!! nice play doug
Been going through the archives, love you Dougie
Nice hand Doug I am a relatively new tournament and online player from MN. I have really enjoyed learning how to play no limit hold em these last couple of years and have really enjoyed your videos! Thanks for posting!
Doug this is an awesome channel bro, u should have millions of subs. I learn a lot so keep up the goodwork !! greetings from amsterdam
Jeremy chip dumps harder than Jon Blaze
bang bang
that really is one of the best personality pics of hellmuth that i've ever seen.
the old, "a picture is worth a thousand words" comes to mind here
Hellmuth is eyeing your pile of chips in that shot like Sophia Loren was eyeing Jane Mansfield's wardrobe malfunction. Muy celosos, papi.
the poker side-eye!
Doug you're killing the Poker Strat game atm! Loving the content
love the way you analyze hands!
That Phil Hellmuth picture at the end is priceless.
I beast everything
thank you doug. youve elevated my game but wish you were more in tune with plo. a game that i play 95% more of
hellmuth's face at the end lol. great channel, thank you doug!
So funny :'-) just seen the 3:00 am talk with you and phil about this hand and i happy to see the hand here
12:05 is hilarious! Well done Doug.
Thanks for your awesome videos Doug. Amazing content.
1.25 or 1.5 speed helps
This picture might have won the 2017 Internet Award!
Congrats Polk :D
Hey Doug I know you have a couple Tom Dwan's fan watching your videos and I just watched macau billionaire challenge 2017 ou UA-cam and Tom is playing and he is running very good. Couple of good hands too so maybe you could make a video with that clip. You are really good at poker and thank you for your youtube Channel!
“He called a raise with a King and a King. Honey!”
Hey Doug, first time commenter here. I recently (a few weeks ago) started following your channel and I have to say, I am blown away. You have been able to cement so many concepts that I have heard of/studied for so long with your intuitive knowledge and great communication skills.
I had a question for you if you get to see this, I live in Australia and recently we had our own Black Tuesday. I have not played online in a few years and was just getting back into it, so this is a big blow. I was wondering about what your recommendation would be in improving my game since now I can't really keep a good track of my hands, sessions and in turn my leaks.
Is playing at pubs and casinos and taking note of my major decisions in a session a good start?
Much appreciated Doug and again love the channel keep it going.
Input by anyone is welcome :)
T9 high like a baus! Loved how the commentary was against your flop check and then all of the biscuits went to your side of the table BAZAM!
Doug, First Congrats, I have seen many of your videos and learned a lot. This one was just fun! klb
lol at the milk carton with tom dwans picture on it
Do you know where I am bro?
that pic of you and Hellmuth is classic
Informative vid with some hellmuth,
Its a win win.
Great channel.

:D
Master Yoda
Well done sir

Dumbo349 L
You have one of the best if not the best picture a poker player can have
I also see the check on the flop very good for the range of doug(Doug does not have AK and JJ becausw he is more likely to go all in preflop), so checking AA and KK sort of protects the checking range.
Hi Doug! VNH! What twitch stream should i watch next time ur on live action?
lol that picture! 😂
Nice win Doug! Best pic ever!
Hey guys, Sam Broke here.....that was pretty Effin Awesome! Love PH gave at end 😭😭😭
i saw the title and liked before watching.
Love seeing that Cubs shirt on you Doug! 👍
LOL that smile + Hellmuth looking at the stack xD priceless
lmfao that picture off you and phill make a poster out off it man lmaoooo i cant wait
That picture is awesome!
That last picture of Phil is really tremendous )
I mainly watched this video to see that picture pop up at the end.
But have to say in hindsight the analysis was pretty amazing, so hard to get any value here other than from Hellmuth.
Hey Doug, where can I see the whole session?
Is there any word when PNiA is going to upload the full stream on their channel or anywhere??
I dont usually agree with Doug's play typically but I have to say, well done on getting max value out of an opponent's hand that basically had 2 outs to the river. bravo.
What are your hands doing off camera? they seem a bit active down there....
Hi Doug, do you believe in the power of chi in martial arts ?
Doug, get that pic up on the wall ASAP!!
"Hoooold hoooooold"
loved tht haha good job doug
That thumbnail is class, wp sir!
I saw a poster in some other video that was uploaded when Helmuth was eating a big fat greasy burger is my favorite. Got a degenerete Elvis vibe to it.
It was weird. But I missed you man. Just wanted you to know that. Glad you're back #Bazaam
I will admit, that is a damn nice picture.
Need more hands with you and Hellmuth!
great pic with hellmuth
Funny you mention Philly for poker night in America, I was there the other night and the dealer I had said you won an $80k pot and didn’t tip at all. I asked if they got paid by everyone after, and he said “yes, but everyone else was still tipping as they went, also.”
Never mind the analysis, Doug is hysterical.
You gotta get that picture framed and put it on your wall, classic!!!
+John Gagnon I already have it framed just going with other pictures at the moment
GR8 Play Doug!!! You know Kaufman would donk his chips,,,HiLaRiOuS!!! LoVe the channel bro!! Kaufman smashing ur chips,,classic,,,...we need more HuMoR in poker...Always,,, as usual,,, gr8 analysis
Now that was a great poker video👍
Doug, What I like about your analysis is you are thorough while you explain but you don't overwhelm me with all of that GTO theory and analysis that a lot of these guys like to do. I call it paralysis by analysis. I have been playing for many years and I'm not at your level but In a 5-10 nl game I still find that I can be profitable the old way. Sitting down and just playing the situation and position. I'm not even a huge math guy. What do you think? Do you really need all that extra stuff in your game just to play lower stakes like me?
Thank you.
Great stuff, Phil has that "who can I borrow some money from" look on his face after the hand is over, He once had a Target bag that he had his money in for rebuys and somebody said " Is that where you keep the K-Y jelly in for hands like that? classic
my favorite Helmuth pic! love it
Maybe something was edited out, but I'm glad Phil said nothing after the hand. He understood it was a simpler "mini cooler" for him, and he had no reason to complain.
Possibly the best PH pic ever taken actually. It's classic him with glasses in teeth and everything.
I just wanted to say that you're starting to replace Jonathan Little as tactical advisor in my mind when I'm in a tough spot. And that I really enjoy your videos! :)
Keep kicking ass Doug!
nice when it comes together bwud. good on ya
Hello Doug, I want to ask you, can you make a video how you supposed to play with lower pockets pairs. And highers pocket pairs.
I was checking when I'm losing the most hands on poker.
And it's comes basically on pairs witch is lower than pocket queens.
A lot time had to make hard decisions like all in with jacks or tens. I don't have enough strength or how to say will power to muck these hands. Any advice or even video about that will be great.
Put that picture on the wall, Doug!
