It's true, but I still find the whole hand kind of strange. Why would Hellmuth go all in there with the nuts? Wouldn't it make more sense to go for a value raise to try to extract money from pairs and sets? Or is he afraid of hands with flush draw? Or did Hellmuth go all in hoping to get called by a set/two pair/whatever and win it all? Wouldn't it then make more sense to try to build the pot gradually?
Also, how can Polk put Hellmuth on QT when he raised preflop? I am just an amateur and I honestly would like to understand the line of thinking from both players.

The most interesting of these to me is Polk v Hellmuth, because I genuinely cannot think of two other people who would be in a hand like this and it go this way.
Hellmuth may be the only player in the world at this level that a poker player may fold Polk's hand to. Anyone else has the potential to be straight out bluffing or semi-bluffing. Hellmuth is the one person who is virtually never bluffing like this at this level.
And Polk is maybe one of three or four players in the world who have the ability to (A) understand and make that read so perfectly, and (B) actually have the guts to fold it.
    Great stuff.

I am nowhere as experienced as Bonomo, but my thoughts about his analysis is like this:
Look at Kleins sizing on turn. It is is much less than half pot. If he had a flush he would have sized up a little bit, given at least one of his two opponents would very likely have a Ten. But if Klein had the As in his hand, which is likely as the PFR, he could also bluff such a value at the turn on such a wet board and if his opponents dont have at least a ten he would pick up the pot straight away. Now when the River pairs the board, Klein bets all in. This is a suspicious bet because if he had a flush he would likely not be thrilled about the paired board to go all in. So Klein could just have the naked As and is bluffing, as full houses are not in his range since no hand that has a set or two pair would bet that turn. So either (a) Klein is doing what is called a blocker bluff by holding the As expecting his opponents to fold Tens when the board is paired and he is holding the nut flush blocker, or (b) he has a straight flush like he has, the odds of which are much smaller, or (c) He has a hand like As Tx where he bet small on turn not knowing if someone has a flush (but he has a redraw) and he is pushing all in on the river ( an attempt at re-emulating the infamous Galfond bluff he did a while back on HSP) when the river paired to represent a FH to fold out chops, straights, even some small flushes.

I think the *whole* conversation would've went differently, if Helmuth would have told Polk that he "could easily have ... you know ... QueenTen" & just shut up after that one-liner, instead of what he actually said:
Everyone including Polk would've heard that cheeky statement, thought about it and then continued on with speculations like "Wait, he also could have pocket 8s, he raised preflop from an early position!" and on and on about all the *weaker* hands he could have... I am almost certain that a strategy like this
( - _do it cheeky like Helmuth did, but then tell him you _*_could_*_ have the nuts and just shut up_ - )
would have convinced Polk to call Phils insane overbet.
Done like that this could've been the best bait move by Helmuth so far 😏
