    Question for viewers:
Do you think your school has taught you enough about what your rights are?

yeah, i'm with cookie123. it's basically never mentioned except like special occasions like day for the girl. I would have liked to learn it sooner. I think my rights are probably being 'abused'. Like when people always call me "inspirational" It's like, why am i inspiring you? you don't know me. I could be a b!tch. I think thats probs stereotyping. Or like when ppl push my wheelchair when i haven't even asked and it's like back off. I din't say you could touch my chair! Hands off. I hate that stuff.

Thanks for replying Cookie123. It's great that you liked the video! It can be hard to speak up for what you want or need. Sometimes people are scary to talk to, or sometimes its just hard to get the confidence up. If you want some help just to build confidence in self-advocating, you could find an advocacy service near where you live and have a chat with them. If you'd like to do that you can search through the Disability Advocacy Finder @ disabilityadvocacyfinder.dss.gov.au/disability/ndap/

Thanks for replying Beauty Beast. It's so wonderful that you were able to understand your rights better. You sound passionate about standing up for your rights which is brilliant to hear! You should try personalising your rights and this will help in understanding the rights and how you feel they are being abused. Also, for situations like the one you mentioned, you might want to fill out some of the problem solving sheets on the website, this will help you be prepared for times like those. You can find them at youth.wwda.org.au/resources/
