  • This version of the popular Black Hunter longbow is from a company called Obert. These bows also go by the names Mandarin Duck and Galaxy Ember. Either way, this longbow (as well as the recurve version) are sweet shooters. Modern looks and performance to match. These are perfect bows for the entry level archer or the experienced bow hunter. Personally I think it’s a better looking competitor to a Samick Sage or Kainokai recurve. Check out all of these bows by clicking on the Amazon affiliate links below. Thanks for watching!

    Bought one last week ( Recurve ) from Obert, they even say on Amazon its an original Black Hunter as well as the limbs , its true and i agree ! everything is well made and sits perfect no overlay from limbs to riser , shoots very good only upgrade i have to make is a better string … well worth the 108€. its not a center shot bow it sits a quater inch behind center , but slide a toothpick under the shelf pading to get a center shot , many ways to achieve this if you want…. Greetings from Germany Tim

    That’s interesting. So the risers were actually different in the grip? If you have both I’d love to see a close up on them together. I always figured they were exact clones other than the limb areas.

    Nice clear video and review, the longbow version is very nice and easier to draw than its recurve version. My recurve @ 60 was too much of a bear to hold back, and so I block sanded the width down from 1.650 to 1.450, and it’s lovely. Lots of progressively strong power, without the “wall” that the 60 presented at about half draw. The 60 longbow stays as-is, it is perfect. These bows can be made to center shot easily, going down to 5/8” in the corner rounded for 400 xx75’s.

    • @bowhuntingsoul2149

      It serves two purposes. First it makes sure you have a consistent draw length on ever shot. Second, it acts as what’s called a “psycho trigger”, which is a signal to your brain to release the string upon feeling or hearing the click.

    • @bowhuntingsoul2149
      @bowhuntingsoul2149  Рік тому +2

      No sir not made in America. China. This is a tough one because there is no super cheap American made alternative. But it’s a “gateway” bow, meaning it’s incredibly low price point entices people to try traditional archery very inexpensively. However, for those who stick with it, their next bow purchase is almost always an American made (much more expensive) mass produced bow or a custom bow.
