As always, a superb video. Marking the stitches in color is genius. I think it finally clicked. I have a sweater waiting for me to pick up and knit 95 stitches . It has been waiting a long time. I think I'll get to it. Thank you!!
I have knitted for years since i was a little girl and have always got some one to pick up stitches for me as just cant do it, but after seeing this video I am sure i can do it myself, thank you,
Very helpful video. I didn't know about the rule to skip one every three stitches for picking up along a vertical edge, but that makes sense! Thank you.
Recently I've finished a baby blanket which I've picked up stitches to make a border. The truth is that the vertical side didn't turn out well because I didn't know that I have to knit3 slip 1. thanks for teaching me ;) won't do that mistake again!!
i did this once the wrong way. when i tried to redo it after watching your tutorial which is very clear, the stitches were very loose annd showed through between the edging and main part of garment. what can i do to correct.
This is the best video on picking up stitches that I have seen. Thanks so much for your clear and specific instructions!
You're a fantastic teacher and the camera work is brilliant. Thanks to this tutorial I can now complete my baby pram blanket.
I've been doing this wrong for years! Thank you so much for explaining it with such detail. I've never seen it demonstrated this well. :)

COOL! I've never had a problem with horizontal PU's, but never knew there was a formula for the vertical ones. NOW I KNOW! Thanks!
Finally a clear, easy to see and follow explanation!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! :-D
Great video, use of colour made it easy for me as a complete beginner! Thanks

Thank you. That row is number one of the pattern and I figured i would knit the row as instructed but wasn't for sure.
I've been doing this SO wrong! Thanks for the clear explanation.

Chaya Polatseck I would try blocking the garment to return it to its original shape.
Do you do this to the entire front of sweater? My baby sweater has front band with 102 stitches. So I do this for all 102, then knit?
Thanks a lot, I love your video. I want to know how I can make my scarf longer but without making an edge.
Is there any different if we don't skip one after 3 pick ups? Thanks
Yes, you will have too many stitches along the vertical edge and it will create a ruffle.
What is the pattern for the bottom border and the ribbing? I'd like to make a scarf like that.
It is just plain stockinette. Knit one row, purl one row.
