@@BarackObamaJedi The American pronunciation of that letter is "zee". No one is a moron for pronouncing letters or words in the manner everyone in their country does, you fucking asshole
I was cruising through looking for the YYZ version with Niel's long solo and came across this. I thought...ok... kid concert... I'm the mood for some cheese. All I can say is that was 100% badass! The more it went on the more I was impressed. this...is...a ...single..... 11 year old kid! It got to the end and I was waiting for the audience to go out of it's mind... I was... I even had a lighter up in the air and all this girl got was crickets. Whoever you are keep doing your arrangements.
As an organist and bassist and singer myself and massive rush fan I have no words to describe how brilliant this is, only an organist or anyone who's perfected this song on bass will understand how long that would have took to learn. As we say in Australia: bloody brilliant
Fourth time watching this clip since discovering it 40 minutes ago. I bought this album when it came out in 81. I know every note of this song intimately. This is the most true and accurate recreation I have ever heard. People have commented for years on how amazing it was that Rush could make the sound they do with just three guys. This girl is nailing it all by herself. Amazing performance. Then recognize she is only 10 years old at the time.
And here I thought Rush was amazing to produce so much music with only 3 members...her talent is insane! I wouldn't have been surprised if she bowed to the audience and just magically disappeared! Oh look...13 years and I'm just noticing this now?!? La Villa Strangiato Xylophone couple is now my second favorite instrumental cover.
As no child I know could perform such a task as this, and America couldn't perform a symphony this good, you are the best musician I am familiar with. Saying much, for all the wonderful composers out there. Apparently, those who dislike this are the same ones that like such "artists" as Lady Gaga. Prayers go out to Japan, for everything given.
Amazing! !! The sad part is that the audience had no clue about the song and it's difficulty factors. They were applauding without knowing what they were listening to. Great job!
Absolutely astounding for this young lady not only grasp the technical demands, but also to put forth emotion into her playing, grasping the subtle nuances of the piece....well done young lady now for her next challenge, la villa strangiato lol
Amazing!!!!! This little girl is outstanding! My goodness, each time I watch this... It blows me away! does this little girl understand how special she is?
Most Excellent ! Brilliant ! I can't wait to see more. YYZ is an all time favorite of mine. A exquisitely complex piece. You have amazing skill ! Much Love 🙏
I don't care how many times I've watched this video, I just amazed how anybody can play this song on that Yamaha keyboard!! Especially an 11 year old kid!!
I agree with Thomas H....the internet does something wonderful once in a while...This young lady is out of this WORLD!!!! Her coordination is impeccable.
"Oh, thou clear spirit, of thy fire thou madest me, and like a true child of fire, I breathe it back to thee." - Herman Melville, from Moby-Dick. Ameri, don't let anything stop you from fulfilling whatever it is you wish to obtain! Your skill astonishes me, and humbles me! You ROCK!
+Michael Gombos here's the quote "Oh, I've seen this chick! She's amazing! Somebody sent me a new one of this eight-year-old boy playing drums to 'Fly by Night.' You should check it out. . . But this is unbelievable, just unbelievable. It seems insane and inconceivable, yet how sweet. She's got the feet going. Look at her feet go. This is just unbelievable. Crazy, man. I'd love to pat her on the back. Again, this is awesome." -GL
So. Amazing. I have never seen anyone with your kind of musical dexterity, able to reproduce an entire incredibly complex song so accurately with just a single instrument... and all four limbs! Astounding.
I've been a Rush fan about twice as long as you've been alive, and I've been involved with music for about that long too, so I'm accustomed to people showing off their chops by covering Rush tunes. But this... was something entirely different. Truly phenomenal.
Near as I can tell, the keyboard is a STAGEA ELS-01C (Electone.) I couldn't figure out how she could do what she did, until I looked at the manual. For one thing, on the lower rank, there's buttons a player could hit without her hands leaving the area of the keyboards to change voice settings. There's also a knee operated solo mode which could be used to switch to a solo voice on the upper manual (This is a very expensive keyboard even in used condition.)
crowd golf clap , they didn't know what they had just heard. Too bad really, This was not an easy thing for her to accomplish I bet... And how does an 11 year old asian girl even get into Rush in the first place...I might be assuming too much ...maybe she's from Toronto and has an older brother Rush fan or something ...either way just loved it WTG!!! You have excellent taste in music girl \m/
+Mud Sh-sh-shark She's from Japan. I correspond with her father and he's a single parent. Her father writes in English (albeit barely) , but his daughter is very talented. I asked her to perform La Villa Strangiato but that may be too much. YYZ was tough enough. Ameri did come to the U.S. last year for six months as an exchange student and earlier last year she and her father were visiting Los Angeles, but I could not visit them. Sad thing though, her father is extremely worried about her health, especially after Fukushima. I have a feeling he wants her to move here to the U.S. or maybe Canada. I guess next time they are here, I'll visit them.
I used to live in Willowdale no far frm Ged and Alex...now I live in the far unlit unknown just north of Toronto's subdivisions ...She and her dad are welcome here.
... and if they're Japanese, they'll also be more humble, more polite, more socially adjusted, more healthy, eat better than you, have a more fulfilling family life, be more educated...
"...socially adjusted..." Hikikomori? "...healthy..." Japan has 4x more smokers than average US country. "...fulfilling family life..." Birth rates are plummeting. "...humble..." XD
Absolutely astounding for this young lady not only grasp the technical demands, but also to put forth emotion into her playing, grasping the subtle nuances of the piece....well done young lady
Not only is it mind blowing to us mere mortals, but she is so cute and shy, at the end when she takes a bow with her old school Rush shirt on and off the stage she goes, Adorable.
You made me smile and lauigh I enjoyed this so much ! Thanks for sharing it, and for doing so much hard work to learn it, it was a real joy to see you perform it this way. You really had a great feel for the "swing" of this songs melodies.
This kid knocks out one of the toughest prog rock songs ever.... I mean look at her feet work the bass line! And then she gets a smattering of polite applause for 4 seconds. The audience must have been too stunned to go nuts.
Positively amazing, my psychology professor introduced me to this video. What an amazing guy, and what an amazing girl playing this awesome song on the keyboard! Kudos!
You made my day.. thanks for sharing your talents with all of us.. I hope you have kept it up and make some of your won music for all to enjoy....THANKS AGAIN!!!
There are no words to describe how much awesomeness this performance has. You are one talented girl and I'd love to see you playing with Alex, Neil and Geddy sometime. They'd be hard pressed to say no. An amazing performance. Please do not stop. We need more talented youngsters showing us the good of what can bring from such fruit. Mylie who?
after all these years this remains the single most amazing thing i've seen on the whole internet.
liberace was phenomenal on piano, but this is a young girl and she goes nuts with the foot pedals.

I came back to this video after hearing that Neil Peart passed away. It was this video that made me fall in love with the actual song. RIP Neil.
Only a Rush fan can truly appreciate how epically AMAZING this is! AWESOME!

Yyz is an excellent example of 3 musicians rocking in harmony, this little girl can do all 3 by herself, awesome, sure we will hear from her again
Playing the song on the keyboard is one thing but that hand-foot coordination is really incredible.
As an organist and bassist and singer myself and massive rush fan I have no words to describe how brilliant this is, only an organist or anyone who's perfected this song on bass will understand how long that would have took to learn. As we say in Australia: bloody brilliant
What organ do you play?
Probably the only human who can do this. If anyone can do the same show us. Some people are just naturally that good. Scores a 10 out of 10 for sure.
Here I am, a 51-year-old man, crying.

I took the rush tour in Toronto and no other band like them ever. This girl has mad skills
This is no kid, this is an octopus

I remember my father showing me this when I was 12, 10 years later and it’s still my favorite UA-cam video.
playing guitar on a piano and using feet to play bass?? F*ck! Some of us can't even play individual instrument correctly.
