This is my favorite video now that you guys made, and not just because it's Mega Man. Because it helped me understand something about myself, my friend who's a HUGE Mega Man fan, and what Mega Man gave us in the gaming community. I pray that Mega Man makes a return in some way, but in a manner that gives us the same feel his games gave us in the past. His games are a lesson that we all need to learn.

+Sapphire Libra3 In fact, I think I want the opposite. If you want something to remember the old days of the frnachise, you can Play Megaman 9 or 10. What I think is that Megaman needs to advance, keep conquering new mountains, not escalating the same ones. He needs to improve, show something new. Yes, showing something new doesn't mean the games had to be totally changed and nothing from the past can remain, of course the old style has to remain, but with new things, new features. On Megaman 1, we had 6 special weapons and 1 tool. In Megaman 2, the special weapons went to 8 because of being more bosses, and there were 3 new tools. In Megaman 3, the three tools were changed and Rush was developed to cover that and allow Megaman to reach different things, not to mention the slide ability, very helpful to dodge any attack. In Megaman 4, Rush Jet was debbuged and two new tools were added, and Eddie made his debut. In Megaman 5, Rush Marine went gone for its futility, and was replaced by the Super Arrow. Also, Beat made his debut. In Megaman 6, the game allowed you to make a fusion between Megaman and Rush to use new adaptors and give you new abilities. In Megaman 7, not only the graphics changed, it allowed you to use Rush Jet, Rush Coil, the super adaptors from Megaman 7 fused in one, it gave you a new Rush adaptor, Rush Search, the Proto Shield, and a long etcetera. In Megaman 8, the graphics got even better, the boss fights actually changed a lot thanks to the boss room features, and Rush could give you a rain of items to recover yourself, or a rain of missiles to attack the enemy. In Megaman & Bass, there were two characters available for the first time in the Classic Saga, and Bass allowed to the player to do things only thinkable on a Megaman X game. But then everything went back to Megaman 2. As well as mantaining almost everything from the past, Megaman games were always pointing forward, and that's what has to be mantained in my opinion.

All the other robot masters were built by wither Wily or a third party. -Only a handful of robots could self-determinate: Protoman, Mega Man & Roll, X, and I believe Bass and Zero. They were the only ones with true intelligence & the ability adapt. The robot masters, while sophisticated, are only limited intelligences. They are able to learn and operate autonomously, but only within their given fields; They don't have true free will. Until Wily reprogrammed them, it's entirely possible that Light's robots were '3 Laws Safe'. Heck, the whole plot point of whether robots can/should have free will like Mega Man and X becomes the overarching theme of their entire timeline.

Being a war machine by design, he, like Mega Man X, follows the three laws willingly, but when the main antagonist of the _Zero_ series turns out to be a particularly disgusting human being, he practically invokes Law Zero when dealing with him once and for all.
Turnabout Akamia em... not, they didn't. they just through to be tied to those rules. All the time they were free to choose to kill or not kill humans. Dr. Cain made that mistake and Irregulars (Mavericks) began to appear. After that we got Zero Virus and etc.

My personal favorite part of Mat Pat's video is when he completely misrepresented the plot of Mega Man 9 by saying Wily talked the robots into rebelling. That is not true at all, he talked the robots into allowing him to repair them because they still wanted to be helpful to the humans. It's just that Wily never planned to repair them at all, but instead to reprogram them to do his bidding.

Same here...and I see a lot of similarities between Dark Souls and the Mega Man franchise...it'd be great if you can explore how "Hollowing" in Dark Souls affect the undead in the game, and the players as well....in my opinion, your character does not die, but goes hollow when you, as a player, quits the game and becomes hollow... Just saying, 17 here and I only got a phone (a crappy flip phone too) when I was 11 or 12. Anyway, this is the first time I've ever seen these games analysed like this, but it's very thought-provoking and unique. I never thought of the experiences in the game like that before, but it's very poetic. Honestly, seeing things like this makes me wish that more game designers would produce games of this caliber. It's sad that most games now follow the same rhythmic formula, as gameplay that requires you to think and adapt your skills/resources are so rewarding and fun compared to what we're getting from most big-budget games. That was a nice fresh view on the franchise i love the most. I grow up in era where Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Castlevania and Megaman challenged our childhood. But none of the othere franchises catched me like the blue bomber, hell the first time i was able to take down the Yellow Devil i felt like a hero. And then came Wily and the training started again. The problem today is that most games are missing soul and heart. And that nearly all gamers out there are needing 60hz and 1080p (Or better now 4k or 8k). Hell, as i was in Saturn (I live in germany), a lot of kids said they don't buy a game because the game hadn't 1080p with 60hz and that this is unacceptable. Gameplay comes secondary today, what is a shame. You didn't need a tutorial for Megaman, the game teaches you the way to play it via gameplay. You had, not for the first but the first who did it the right way, the freedom of level choice, it had a long and intresting backstory and the music was awesome. I don't understand the games of today. Maybe i'm to old for the souless market that the gaming industry had become. I'm a gamer since i'm 5, began with the VC20. We came a long way and the graphics from today are realy impressiv. But it is not the same. Call of Duty, Battlefield, Tomb Raider or Mortal Kombat X. Action packed and cinematic like blockbusters with gore and repetitive gameplay. But you made a nice story with a new view on the series. Great job. Thumbs Up.

Pretty sure the Archie comics state the robots do have Asimov's rules, but where override by Wily, they even go to show that they have to very strictly adhere to their programming. And aside from MegaMan vs Wily/Cossack, we've never seen a robot in the classic MegaMan series fight a human. So... yeah.
it's funny how you made the comparison between old games and perseverance, and the life lesson attached to it. Not as prevalent today with the influx of "Pay to win" and DLC riddled games. But i guess buying your way to success is a pretty modern life lesson nowadays.

Just saying, 17 here and I only got a phone (a crappy flip phone too) when I was 11 or 12. Anyway, this is the first time I've ever seen these games analysed like this, but it's very thought-provoking and unique. I never thought of the experiences in the game like that before, but it's very poetic. Honestly, seeing things like this makes me wish that more game designers would produce games of this caliber. It's sad that most games now follow the same rhythmic formula, as gameplay that requires you to think and adapt your skills/resources are so rewarding and fun compared to what we're getting from most big-budget games. That was a nice fresh view on the franchise i love the most. I grow up in era where Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Castlevania and Megaman challenged our childhood. But none of the othere franchises catched me like the blue bomber, hell the first time i was able to take down the Yellow Devil i felt like a hero. And then came Wily and the training started again.
The problem today is that most games are missing soul and heart. And that nearly all gamers out there are needing 60hz and 1080p (Or better now 4k or 8k). Hell, as i was in Saturn (I live in germany), a lot of kids said they don't buy a game because the game hadn't 1080p with 60hz and that this is unacceptable. Gameplay comes secondary today, what is a shame.
You didn't need a tutorial for Megaman, the game teaches you the way to play it via gameplay. You had, not for the first but the first who did it the right way, the freedom of level choice, it had a long and intresting backstory and the music was awesome. I don't understand the games of today. Maybe i'm to old for the souless market that the gaming industry had become. I'm a gamer since i'm 5, began with the VC20. We came a long way and the graphics from today are realy impressiv. But it is not the same. Call of Duty, Battlefield, Tomb Raider or Mortal Kombat X. Action packed and cinematic like blockbusters with gore and repetitive gameplay.
But you made a nice story with a new view on the series. Great job. Thumbs Up.

Pretty sure the Archie comics state the robots do have Asimov's rules, but where override by Wily, they even go to show that they have to very strictly adhere to their programming. And aside from MegaMan vs Wily/Cossack, we've never seen a robot in the classic MegaMan series fight a human. So... yeah.
I love Megaman. He kinda like Sonic the Hedgehog only more Astro Boy except he's blue with armor and has a cannon, mostly used in fights. He's cool.
You forgot to mention that the original 9 were built by both Light and Wily.

Not as prevalent today with the influx of "Pay to win" and DLC riddled games. But i guess buying your way to success is a pretty modern life lesson nowadays.
