I remember this from my childhood. My dad had a boring Volvo 244 but my friends dad had a SAAB dealership and always had the latest model Saabs. And one day when he picked me up to go to the icehockey training he showed up in a brand new 99 turbo. And it was so luxurious! Burgundy red with an incredibly luxurious red velour interior and soft rear seat headrests... 🥰 And so incredibly fast! When that turbo kicked in...
I really enjoy this channel. The fact that it’s on UA-cam is great! The lads don’t follow the usual formula of buying and selling and I think that’s refreshing! They seem like nice pair of blokes, fair play to them.
These guys are teaching others to bodge up bangers, and to sell some poor in expecting victim. They're everything that is wrong in the auto trade @@anthonyxuereb792
Some of you seemed to have missed the point--with no turbo, these things are not a hot item. So they did something to make it stand out and it worked. I like seeing cars that are ready for the junkyard getting a new life, if that new life is only that it is going into someone's collection and it won't be driven much.
Years ago I looked at buying one of these cars NEW which I felt were interestingly funky and bound to be a great car in snow given I live in Canada . Borrowed one for a week in February and to this day is absolutely the worst driving car in snow I have ever encountered including a couple of Jags I owned and that was saying something 😂
Well thats intresting cause SAAB 99/900 are seen as one of the best cars to handle Snow or generally poor roads and offroad. Both by pro rally drivers, journalists and regular people. infact i can attest it is one of a very few FWD cars which can actually drive up a real prepped skislope (Swedish Trafikmagasinet put a SAAB 900 against a Volvo 240 and a audi quattro in the 80's and the SAAB was the onlyone to actually complete the test). I have personally seen and also driven it through wet forest in the autumn on old trasctor paths even some decent tractors fail to handle. But no car is better than its tires and driver so if you either is unused to drive in the snow and ice and is using studdles tires no car can save you Be it a AWD, a SAAB or an old ford Scorpio.
@@pauloconnor7951 they make the listing on first day, it doesn't really make much sense at all except that it's scripted as if they buy a car on monday and sell it on friday. they also supposedly decide on the max price(but it now price) before they know what they need to do to it or how nice it turns out.
I like watching and listening to the banter, and also learning about the defects you uncover on different cars. But some of your statements are misleading. E.g. - you absolutely cannot 'stop rot' by replacing some panels or patching holes. It needs a a bare-bones treatment that is totally out of reach for most cheap-car buyers. Patches & repairs on rustboxes will only extend a car's life until it turns to Swiss cheese and falls apart. I once had a fantastic Alfasud that I loved, but it rusted through faster than you could believe.
Hideous, it just needed a couple of wing plates, a straightforward boot section, a good service and a clean. Looks an absolute mess with noddy driving lamps and pseudo rally effect.
Oh yes, and the grills in the rear wings are there for a reason, most things on a SAAB are. They are integral to the heating and ventilation allowing free flowing of hot, cold and fresh air through the entirety of the vehicle. Taping over them is a dumb idea.Grrr.
@@cejannuzi maybe and no argument here, but they do it constantly and without the road noise of a couple of cracked windows. Anyway my main beef is the w@nkerish disrespect of their so called make over.
Gotta love these "car" channels with people that know absolutely nothing about cars. Well, i suppose thats what goes for good telly these days. With very limited knowhow and a slim budget, not building a "rallye" car of this one had been the best option. There are still people that like saab in the uk. There should be a part two in this serie, when the new owner finds out about all the new problem his/hers "renovated" car have. For example, the fog that are going to be in the car from now on, the rallye decal is covering the air exhaust on the side of the c-post, so no air is ever going to leave the car ever again..
It s a car with the same price of an Iphone...what do you expect? Nobody will use it daily to be affected, it s just a hobby car that you take out on a sunny day.
It's entertainment. Do you really think two adults can really “carve out a living”, flipping bangers? A profit of 1000 British pounds after all the parts and labour, is ridiculous now divide that between two men and their families in the 21st century in the UK? They would have to turn a car around every day. Like I said, entertainment.
Hi Ryan, unfortunantely, no. I worked for saab over 10yrs before they shut down. I worked as a testdriver and instructor on forklifts and workplace designer. Also i worked as a licensed car mechanic (major in highschool) for many years. I have also worked at volvocars for 8yrs as a problemsolver licensed by toyota. So i know what im talking about. Hopefully this helps you anderstand that i have a better view than most so called "experts".@@Ryan-lc9ij

You really believed they put it on an auction and sold it to a genuine buyer

Looks like new 😋
Any idea how we can get hold of the Saab parts specialist and the sticker business?
Final note…. Will.. my granny has a rug just like ure jacket, and Gus…. She wants her T’Cosie back! 👋

I don´t understand how do you want to get top money online if you take the fotos before the transformation

I’m a big saab fan, but the result here looks like a clown car
Hardly a business, it’s all in the Utube vid $$$$
I don`t really think that it is the workshop that is getting closer...... That one is standing perfectly still.
Would you fix the ranch rovers head liner 😢 Adrian Australia

Looks like Dennis walked home😂😂😂😂
And a happier Irishman you never did see😂😂😂😂😂😂
What does 'trade' in reference to Donna's stickers mean please?
Trade price you bozo.
A mill finish on the plate inserts would have looked great.
How did it pass the last MOT?
U can do it PENFOLD! U interweb wizard you ! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"with the deafening sound of welding" sure, sure there was that going on when you were doing that. do they chatgpt the voiceovers?
The vinyl wood is actually factory...
wood veneer 'tape' on the dash is stock
I don’t think JACK DUCKWORTH would let Will weld his glasses.

They don’t show all repairs. There is Paul brackley behind scenes.

Maybe… re name ure show..🤔….. ‘BODGE IT N SCARPER’ 😂
how u sell the fu car if not start to fix it :D
Nor do I think anyone but STEVIE WONDER, taking pity on you, would buy that car of you. 🤦♂️
The car was only worth 90 quid, the seller must have whooped it up after you two left.
How come Gus has two first names and no last name? Like Gus Gregory Peck.....
Yeah let's not look underneath it before we buy it. The Two Wallys strike again. The aluminium? Bloody awful. A rally car? Ha ha ha ha. Clowns.
With all due respect, the aluminum door cards look bad.
bloody awful. With those hideous leather straps.
I trust you chaps have another income stream as the arse will drop out of your duds Flippin' Ol' Bangers ..😕
LOL. Sure they do. They make money from the show. That is why it is a show.
Great looking 99 but in bad shape.

Ok… at the end of my reviews long boring journey….. it’s a POS. Next. 👋
What are they moaning about? They doubled their money and had a road trip. Isn't that a really successful job?
