Music has no color. These are genuine musicians unlike todays "musicians". All talent, no fancy flair. Today feels like all flair and not much talent. I miss the music of my youth.

I don't understand these black men who are shocked when they hear a white person who according to them has a black voice. Talent is talent and it doesn't belong to any race. What I respect is talent, that’s all. Although black, I find the attitude of these black men racist. Let them just appreciate talented artists and that's it!

While you may be right about the mainstream there are still LOTS of amazing musicians out there , but the people running mainstream corporate structures aka YOUR generation won’t give them any spotlight.

The Eagles are an American country/rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1971. Don Henley (drums) and Glen Frye (acoustic guitar) were the backing band for Linda Ronstadt (early 70's) and then formed their own band. They have 6 number #1 albums, 6 Grammy awards having sold more than 200 million records.
They have a HUGE catalog and not one bad song.

Henley decided on the theme of "Hotel California", noting how The Beverly Hills Hotel had become a literal and symbolic focal point of their lives at that time. Henley said of their personal and professional experience in LA: "We were getting an extensive education, in life, in love, in business. Beverly Hills was still a mythical place to us. In that sense it became something of a symbol, and the 'Hotel' the locus of all that LA had come to mean for us. In a sentence, I'd sum it up as the end of the innocence, round one."
Don Henley and Glenn wrote most of the words. All of us kind of drove into L.A. at night. Nobody was from California, and if you drive into L.A. at night ... you can just see this glow on the horizon of lights, and the images that start running through your head of Hollywood and all the dreams that you have
Glenn came up with a cinematic scenario of a person who, tired from driving a long distance in a desert, saw a place for a rest and pulled in for the night, but entered "a weird world peopled by freaky characters", and became "quickly spooked by the claustrophobic feeling of being caught in a disturbing web from which he may never escape"
Part of the lyrics, such as "Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes bends / She got a lot of pretty pretty boys she calls friends", are based on Henley's break-up with his girlfriend
"They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast", was a playful nod to the band Steely Dan, who had included the lyric "Turn up the Eagles, the neighbors are listening"

"You can check out any time you like but you can never leave." That line hits at the transition to the "solo" (which is really a duet). The timing is perfect. Don Fielder starts just as the listener realizes what was said. It is like an audible indication of the recognition of the words. Perfect.

The guy you point out at the end and said that he looked good? That was Glenn Frey. Sadly, Frey died a few years ago. He and Don Henley (the drummer/singer in this video) were the primary singers and songwriters for the Eagles. In this "Hotel California video," Frey is the one playing acoustic guitar. Both Frey and Henley had solo careers between tours with the Eagles, and Frey is best known for singing the song "The Heat Is On" from the film "Beverly Hills Cop."
But to your point, Glenn Frey did look good. Over the years, he got some film & TV roles because of his movie star looks.

I've known this song for over 20 years and have always loved it. Recently, I've heard it and understood it as a man traveling and came across a hotel that's basically a brothel. The woman is a prostitute and the rest is metaphors for how this will always stay on your conscience and you can't shake it off. Like you can "check out" by getting messed up, but you can "never leave" it's always with you until you come to peace with it

Welcome to the EAGLES music...They are one of the top groups to ever grace us with their music.Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 is the biggest-selling album in United States history-bigger than Elvis and The Beatles and Michael Jackson (the Eagles’ greatest hits and Jackson’s Thriller seem to continuously vie for the top slot). The Eagles’ Hotel California, meanwhile, is the third-best-selling album in U.S. history.
They have an overwhelming number of awards, including being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame...SIDE NOTE---Did you notice that Don Henley(Drummer/Singer) was playing the Drums AND Singing...Not many drummers can do that. But the nice thing about this group is there are songs where each member takes lead on singing...There is no "OFFICIAL" lead singer, they all sing, they all play multiple instruments.

In case no one has mentioned it yet, Eagles are a supergroup. They all came from other highly successful bands. Most of them had highly successful solo careers after Eagles. This is what pure, real talent sounds like. All those samples and clips you hear in current modern music, and all those beat box drum machine sounds... came from artists like this. Not to sound like grandpa but... this is real music.

HI. Im new here. Have you reacted to Led Zeppelin LIVE Stairway to Heaven song? Ill go look. Youll get a LOT of views if you havent done it already. Oh yea.. Eagles are Legends for sure! and Led Zeppelin are Gods.100s of thousands to millions of views when an LZ reaction goes up. That specific song is so fckin good as is this one.
Oh.. The song Hotel Californias original meaning was about shooting dope. The candle was to cook it on the spoon. If you go back and listen to it then youll understand. The secondary meaning was a metaphore of the times where so many were leaving home for the bright lights n big city only to end up on a dark path or under the weight of all you achieved only to have you crying for the simpler things. Dope was huge in the 70s. Sadly it is back again as the cheap alternative to the opioid epidemic today.

This is one explanation of the song Hotel California.. This song is about the [Halfway House] or rehabilitation center of the rich and famous drug and alcohol abusers known as the [Hotel California]. The hotel is for the rich and famous drug and alcohol abusers. "And I was thinking to myself [this could be heaven or this could be hell]." This refers to what he will be subjecting himself to during the very painful withdrawal process. And the hours-long epileptic-like seizures his body will be going through to rid the body of its drugs and alcohol in his system. "Her mind was Tiffany twisted she got the Mercedes Benz. She has lots of pretty pretty boys she calls friends." Tiffany's is world-famous for its fine and very expensive jewelry. She is wealthy with very expensive taste in cars and jewelry. And her friends are actors, models and rich kids. "How they danced in the courtyard Sweet summer sweat. Some dance to remember Some dance to forget." This refers to the painful and gut-wrenching withdrawal process one must go through to rid themselves of the drugs and alcohol they have in their system. "So I called out the captain "please bring me my wine" we haven't had that spirit here since 1969." Refers to the Woodstock era of "Sex, Drugs and Rock & Roll." "And still those voices are calling from far away wake you up in the middle of the night just to hear them say... Welcome to the Hotel California what a lovely place what a lovely face. Plenty of room in the Hotel California. They living it at the hotel California what a nice surprise bring your alibis." In every halfway house or rehabilitation center. The staff along with past drug and alcohol abusers who are counselors and to are part of the staff...Always welcome you with open arms anytime day or night. "What a nice surprise bring your alibis." This refers to the many excuses the abusers will give to the staff. As to the many reasons why they became addicts. "Mirrors on the ceiling, pink champagne on ice. And she said we are all just prisoners here, of our own device, and in the master's chambers they gathered for their feast they stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast." Last thing I remember I was running for the door I had to find the passage back to the place I was before. Relax said the night man we are programmed to receive you can check out anytime you like but you can never leave!" Mirrors on the ceiling refers to the big room where all the addicts gather to receive their drug substitutes to ween them off of the hard drugs. Pink champagne on ice refers to the drug substitute 'Methadone" which is a liquid and is pink in color. The drug and alcohol addicts are prisoners of their own self-destruction. And they themselves are to blame for letting themselves become drug and alcohol abusers. The Beast is the "Drug and Alcohol Addiction" an addict will have to live with for the rest of their lives. The addict will never be rid of the addiction. It will be a constant battle for the rest of their lives to live drug and alcohol-free. You can check out anytime you like but you can never leave refers to "Once an addict always an addict!"

This song is metaphorical not literal, they aren't singing about an actual hotel they are staying at,but about the so called "dream come true" lifestyle of excess on offer if you make it in California. You might say and this song is definitely saying " be careful what you wish for, you just might get it ).
