- Here we take another look at "BLOODWORK"...S&W 627 snub from the Performance Center! This is currently my carry gun.
I don't think I'm gonna do a vid on the holster/speed loader pouch so I'll write it here for now:
Holster = MASC Leather Pancake Holster 3 slots. #1489# Amazon Special. I recommend this holster if you want to carry your 627 snub and you do not want to go custom leather. It's not perfect but it will do! So far it works great for concealed carry. Not easy but it can be done.
Speedloader Pouch = Barsony. Amazon Special. This is NOT MY FAVORITE for CCW. Normally I use Comp-Tac (SpeedBeez same thing) Speedloader Holder. These clip right on the belt and are made out of kydex and I find them to be superior. Holds shape, fast draw, no snap/flap to mess with.
Also note I have been testing a new carry round: Barnes TAC-XPD 357 Magnum 125 Grain TAC-XP. Seems to be a good street round with a little more 'pop' than the Critical Defense.
Stay Safe and Check 360 Often!
After almost 4 years I finally found one. I just put it on lay away and I can't wait to pay it off and take it to the range. I already have it's big brother TRR8 and it is an awesome gun
Very nice! Was it difficult to find or you waited 4 years to get one? I did not think this model was that hard to get (apparently the Pug nose is impossible to find now and asking price is ridiculous).
I have the receipt somewhere I let yall know
Would love to have an 8 shot snubbie that i can carry but holy smokes they aint cheap. Ty for sharing.
These are awesome. You cannot beat 8rnds of 357mag
627 is definitely on my list to get. What’s your thoughts on the new lipsey j frames?
That’s a beauty. I have a polymer gun with an optic on it and it’s a lot of fun to plink with, but when it comes to business, I carry a revolver. I have the 649-3 primary and my 43c pocket carry.
Good vid, keep the good work.
I got one my self today, love it.
Just ordered this wheel gun. Incredibly excited.
Got this gun a month ago. 38spl are great rounds for it with that grip but holy hell .357mag wear your hand down fast.
One of my favorite guns. On my nightstand every night.
Keep up with the revolver videos cus I love em. I love carrying a revolver
Keep the revolver content coming. My first gun was an HK VP9 which I still own and shoot but no where near as much as my revolvers.
that's really cool to hear! I do get a lot of people asking when will I start doing Glock with red dot vids, hahaha. Hey I might you never know.
Beautiful set up. Lets see how well those tactical youngsters do with their choreographed BS when shots are fired
Yep, need cool nerves
Very nice gun. Beautiful. Thanks for the video.
I have that same Masc holster. I use it for my 627pc, my 327pc, and my 986pc. The pug nose is my favorite!!!
There is nothing more satisfying on a Saturday watching one of your pew pew vids👊🇺🇸👍👍
I bought this a few months ago. I'm a revolver guy and the looks and 8-round capacity to me were great. It's a "Performance Center" pistol and supposedly has been lightly slicked-up a bit. First off, beautiful handgun. Very impressed and love the moon-clip option. That being said, I also have an old S&W model 10 .38 special, 6" with round lanyard ring and fixed sights and the action on that firearm is fantastic. I'm talking light single action pull with the feeling of breaking a glass rod when you fire it. Just a stock .38. I also hear a "raspy" noise when freewheeling the cylinder on my 627 whereas the old .38 is silent. Just some observations. I did get a great Galco black holster for the 627 and it works perfectly for CC. Subbed, great perspectives!
8 shots of 357 would make me comfortable. same with 7. so ruger or s&w
i love the pc you have in this video
i love the bigger bores you carry. thats the next goal. kenai style for weight distribution
I like Azula thumb break pancake holsters.
Which grips do you prefer the 2 groove grips on your 627 vs the 3 groove grips your 327. I really like the 3 groove grips on my 986 and I'm waiting for my Pug to come in with those same grips. I like all four fingers with a firm grip wrapped around the grips. I still like semi auto pistols, but then again, I think I have this sickness where I like all guns. They're all good, some are just better than others. (I avoided the old female analogy and replaced it with guns.) Have a great weekend!
I handled one of these in a shop recently and it seems like a solid built handgun. 8 rounds of .357 magnum shouldn’t be something to scoff at. That’s serious firepower. Thank you for making videos like this and please continue to praise the revolver 🙏🏻
I think I will continue with the wheel guns this year. I know a lot of people are asking if I will ever try a "Glock with red dot" and you know maybe... I've been told gotta get with the times lol
I Love, Love, Love Big Blue. I have a bunch of them. Not an overpriced Colt, not any Rugers. Wheel guns got to be Smith's for me. Just Say'n.
I love revolvers; they're solid and durable... But do you have any thoughts on or comparisons to 10mm semi-autos (like a Glock 29, for example; I'm curious)?
S&W TOP !! very well made i carry mine in a sholder hoster
Why the switch from the 586 l comp? I understand the extra round with the 627, but isn't the 586 l comp lighter and more aesthetically pleasing?
This is my exact winter setup and for western yet formal events and occasionally carry the 629 and 327 as well. I too get a lot of critics from folks on this choice yet for those same guys, at least in my experiences, can’t keep a proper grouping during their practice sessions. It’s entertaining. I do switch to a P365 for summer carry. It’s enough for me.
Wish I still had mine. At least I still have a 3” 686+
I have the same gun, mainly due to your channel, bought it 3 years ago, I bought a Rugged gun leather made in Texas. Beautiful holster with matching moon clip holders.
How does it perform without moon clips? I have people tell me they get light primer strikes.
@@Airplanetyson no issues without moon clips. Works fine.
@@samhotstick13.28 thank you!
That's a great carry setup. Thanks for the review! I have a similar gun and set-up but the 629pc.. I use a simply rugged sourdough and can carry own or iwb with it. I've been using the simply rugged sidewinder speed loader holder. Wasn't sold on it at first but after lots of range reloads I really like it.
Would love to see a side by side detailed size comparison video between this gun and a 686 plus. Great video!
Honestly a lot of my holsters have been Tagua and I've pretty good luck with them. Solid quality for the money.
i agree Tagua best bang for the buck
The 329pd does make you respect it like nothing else
I have been wanting one for years but unfortunately I can’t afford it financially.
Great looking gun. I have the 629pc version and carry sometimes. Almost had one but lost on a bid.
great video and follow ups to it.
For 357 with a 2 inch barrel just do 38 +p and you’ll be able to shoot faster. 357 needs at least 4 inches.
Have you perhaps tried to install and use it with larger grips? Like some combat style Culinas round butt. Thanks, a fine gun.
Torn between this and the new Colt Python Combat Elite. Both seem pretty solid. I don’t hate the two extra rounds in the Smith. That’s for sure.
And I can confirm that Milt Sparks has a major backlog. I’m still waiting on an order placed 3/1/23. Worth it to me, though.
@1:50 haters will hate. Its fun to read their comments and knowing they wasted their time writing em
Shoot !, am a revolver gun lover, I think it looks great!. Am hoping I can own one even if it takes awhile to get.
Enjoy your videos and appreciate the effort that goes into their production. Are the grips on your 627 factory? If not, who made them? Thanks!
yes stock grips. They are OK. If Kim Ahrends was still around doing his stocks/grips I would go for those over anything else. For rubber I like Houge, and Uncle Mike (Spegel) boots for j-frames. But Ahrends were the best...
Have you checked out Don Hume holsters? I have a great one and moderately priced.
I put the blue vz grips on my ss 10mm specialist and pack it iwb small of back in a ttgunleather…
What’s up Buddy, just bought mine you helped me through it. What did you use for the powder marks on the cylinder, I am trying to remove them using clp. The firearm is nuts.
Yo there. So for cylinder face I first use a "lead away cloth" to get as much off as possible. Then you can use a carbon cleaner chemical to see if it will get it looking like new. I am not as OCD about this as I once was. But definitely get a lead away cloth (Birchwood Casey).
Wowwwww, he crawled out from the cave!@@TheOl1911 Thank you, nice to see some interaction my son. Been watching the vids, it is the year of the Revolver. Thank you for the content.
I might get one but it is big. How hard is it to conceal the thick cylinder.
How do you conceal this monster? i have trouble concealing my 686. It prints like a mofo 😂
Have this gun, love it but I really disliked the grips. I put some Hogue wood grips on it. Carry it in a Kramer horsehide holster. I just received my Kramer holster for my model 69. Kramer production time is 20 weeks. The craftsmanship is worth the wait. I agree, only practice in double action.
That laser engraving "burned metal" look resembles the branding you'd see on livestock.
very nice.
Totally agree..
What speedloader are you using
for this one the 5-star. I wish Safariland made an 8 shot comp iii
thanks
Just got a Speed Beez loader and I really like it!
My gut says Smith and Wesson will up their game soon. Competition in the marketplace will require it. CZ is bringing Colt back to greatness. The custom premium revolver makers are proving that there is a market for quality. S&W will have to up their game.
Nice! I agree, compared to the Pugnose, she's definitely a big ol' gurl. But, I love that big ol' gurl! ❤
Would love to see a range day
My dream gun
Awesome 😎👍👍👍
us revolver EDC's make hits not brass.
Beautifull firearm
I thought you had one with a fluted cylinder? Bloodwork?
I still carry my 360pd even though it had to go back to smith to repair the star.
nice piece! Although I prefer 340pd but yes quality i think with almost every mfg. seems weary today.
Nice
It’s a glove box gun. The same as other revolvers. Carrying it in a holster does require training and practice but it has a much higher chance of ending a situation in one shot than most other weapons. So 8 rounds of .357 equals 17 rounds of 9mm.
Was looking at the 686+ 2.5 and the PC edition, both compared to this gun.
How much will the price be in Bangladeshi Taka ? please
Que bellísima arma
The trigger stop has nothing to do with timing.
How does it perform without moon clips? I have people tell me they get light primer strikes.
honestly never use them. I've bent quite a few 9mm clips for my 929 snub and it's frustrating. They get bent from removing the spent casings I guess. So I kinda just stay away. I have tons of moon clips in a bin though...
@@TheOl1911 thank you!
Once again, S&W demonstrates just what all the extra money spent on the Performance Center gets ya! Who can resist some sarcasm?................................elsullo
If you cant get the job done with 8 rounds then its not a gun you need ,its a plane ticket.
👍🎯💯
If that guy shows off and criticizes you, why don't you just pretend you are at that national chain gym that's so popular these days and say "Hey, this is a judgement-free zone"? haha.
Yes the people with personality disorders really show up in YT comments….
If it's not broke don't fix it!.
"bothering me"
😀😊😀😎👍🏼
Tt gun leather, runs loose, great craftsman..
Yep..totally aree...I stopped buying holster...from tim...even noted he's holster run sloppy...last holster prior after was sloppy...Tim never corrected...well...went back to kramer...for 627 holster..
The guys who act like they are better than you simply because they have a polymer 9mm and a red dot typically aren't good shooters, speaking from experience. I haven't met a SINGLE high-level shooter in steel challenge, IDPA, USPSA, IPSC, etc who ever talked down to another shooter or acted superior simply because of the choice of guns from either party. Actual competitors know a dude with a stock pistol can beat you if he's better than you. It's usually the dudes who watched a lot of UA-cam videos on how to shoot, just learned what a Bill Drill is, saw a John Wick film, bought a kydex holster, magdumped at an A zone at 7 yards, and now they think they're a grandmaster of some sort which in their mind allows them scoff at others. They can't tell you about a match they won, can't tell you about any impressive/documented shooting feats, they're barely scratching the surface of performance shooting, and yet they walk around with their chin in the air. And if they're annoying in person, they're even worse online.
The best Ccw is the smith and Wesson 327 8 shot revolver pug nose get one now
Stick with Smith & Wesson because it’s made in USA and they stand behind it for life try to get that from Glock
made in USA means nothing anymore. I love S and W but you have a 50 50 chance of getting garbage. And they last around 10000 rounds glocks 300000 rounds
