Thank you for intelligent and professional review! So tired of Hicks reviewing vehicles the names of which they cannot spell. Why can't they just stick to the fast-food reviews? Lol. Looking forward to your next test drive!
So even though I didn't get an answer from you to my question, on your last video. I wanted to watch this video to hear you again, and you did say again "CENTER COUNSEL" however the closed caption service had it down as Center Console??? I'm still confused, Who is correct here?
+ Steve W If this makes sense to you, the original redesign had a wreath and crest for '15 which was produced between roughly around March/April thru Mid October 2014. However, don't get confused, there was a mid-year refresh with better upgrades and equipment like bigger side mirrors, 8 Speed Automatic, 360 round view camera, slightly styled lower front fascia, 4G Wifi and Platinum Collection model. And obviously the new logo for the mid-year refresh model. Actually, it would make more sense for Cadillac to wait till October 2014 but could not wait since the 3rd generation Escalade was a bit long in the tooth. Hope that answers it. The '16 model is the same as the mid-year refresh model.
I want the physical exterior of the Lexus RX 350F sport, but with the durability and reliability of the Cadillac Escalade. The Escalade is attractive, but there is something about the exterior of the RX 350F sport that I find more appealing.
+weirdshibainu Escalades are more for city use, the Lexus is an all terrain suv, it sure can take a beating driving off road daily. I'd stick with the Lexus in terms of durability
You certainly nick pick more than anyone other reviewer of this vehicle lol Did you really mentioned that, "Cadillac doesn't run with the likes of....infiniti.." ? The Infiniti QX56 is better the Escalade.? Being brutally honest and simply giving my opinion, but this has the be the worst review I have seen for the Escalade.
my 2015 platinum is very luxurious and yes it has the floor shifter. same with the Lincoln Navigator. Cadillac continue to keep making excuses for why they keep the dated column shifter is beyond stupid.
+Eric Haley I Love the column shifter. My daily driver is a f350 so when i drive my escalade it feels natural. shifter placement is a preference thing and when im in a truck i reach for the column
Yeah I feel you ramm. I just think that paying $80k for an SUV that shares parts from a tahoe/Yukon just don't cut it. And yes the Mercedes G-series SUV also a column shifter but it placed in a much better spot. The Cadillac needed either a turn dial or floor shifter.
Why? It is a truck. The reason people love the escalade is cause it is the luxury suv for truck drivers. I hate turn dials and the floor shifter is a waste of space when you look at the floor distance. I am an escalade buyer and the column shifter is what i want. I didnt even consider the g-series cause it doesnt ride or feel like a truck
At least do it right like Mercedes Benz. That tahoe/Yukon column shifter looks cheap. I still think that the floor shifter needs to be in that truck. My 2015 Platinum has the floor shifter a damn I have plenty of storage. Same with my wife's 2014 Lariat. Column shifter on an $80,000 is pathetic. How much damn space do you need? Gtfoh! !!!! Cadillac didn't complete their interior on the Escalade and went the chump route.
But i like it. I think the interior is much nicer then any thing that size that why the escalade is the apex of the large suv market. and how much space do i need? I have four kids so alot. the shifter gets touched an average of three times per car trip i think you are giving to much weight to your own personal preferences and not enough to actual functionality with out a floor shifter you get bigger cup holders, arm rest, and center storage. you also keep the shifter in a natural position for a truck driver. i don't understand why it bothers you that it is on the column because it is not a design element it is a transmission control arm .
As usual with all the huge SUV's - design problem. Square, bulky, no elegance, boring. Problem with electronic controls too. Try to change temperature from Hi to Low or vv, or volume, you have to press button many times or hold it for some time ... while driving. Selection of proper AC options is a headache as well, not intuitive, selection path is too long. I hope they fixed gas tank design, you have to find a super right position not to trigger pump switch off.
biggest rippoff on the market today. Very stylish looking exterior on cheap tahoe suspension and frame. These are strictly image vehicles and every other vehicle in its segment offers a nicer ride and far superior ergononomics and engineering. All flash poor function.
OMG! I love the front end. However, the design team either forgot or didn't to put any effort on the rear end design of this car at all! It's, by far, the ugliest of any SUV's made. Just plain BUTT UGLY==BORING! In addition, I'm disappointed that this is only capable of delivering 420 horse power for such a large engine (6.2 litter). This cannot compete with the Range Rover Super Sport that has a 550 power train and other specs and anemeties.
420 Hp is just fine... At the end of the day the Escalade will give less problems over it's life span, even rich people don't want to dump money into something unreliable just for a badge.
This is exactly what happens when accountants build cars and not engineers. Their slogan is simple 'savings at all costs'. When was the last time you've come across an American car competing with a European/Japanese one.
I don't care what people say, this car is amazing.
i agree with you i had th e 2015 amazing car
i kinda prefer the yukon do more manly to me
Agreed! The Escalade is such a beautiful vehicle!
Great review...impartial and identified the strengths and weaknesses. Thank you!
God bless America!
i like this guy. what a sales pitch. i need to buy me one of those !
My dream car!
Said nobody ever!
i love that cadiallce suv
Still need to wait a couple more years so it can be in my price range.... Hopefully all that electronics will be functioning properly!
I have the same Interior but white car and have platinum and have The long version

WHAT IS THE BEST PRICE FOR THE ESCALADE
So even though I didn't get an answer from you to my question, on your last video. I wanted to watch this video to hear you again, and you did say again "CENTER COUNSEL" however the closed caption service had it down as Center Console??? I'm still confused, Who is correct here?
+ Man Garibay Center console.
johnls39
Thanks. I knew it, However it sounds like this guy is still saying counsel. Let's wait and see if he corrects himself on his next video.
Center Console is the proper term lol
Some of the Escalades shown have the wreath on the grill while others don't. Are some not 2016 models?

This is the 2015 not 2016, the instrument cluster and start button are updated for 2016.

Thats what I like

+Daniel Stegmuller nice i have the 2014 esv platinum but i want this more lol
My dad bought the 2016 esv platinum with a diamond tricoat and I love it! It's extremely comfortable but his Escalade has a creamy white seating
The best suv cadi.....llac
J'aime fort bien la Cadillac Escalade luxury. C'est la jeep de la nouvelle génération en plus de infiniti qx80 que je possède déjà.
Pls what is hieght of the butt when fully opened from the ground to the top
P.S.: My 1977 Bonneville and 2007 Lucerne have better ride and comfort. I need my Lucerne back.
Rather have the new, refreshed Lexus lx570
+weirdshibainu Escalades are more for city use, the Lexus is an all terrain suv, it sure can take a beating driving off road daily. I'd stick with the Lexus in terms of durability

the 2016 lexus lx 570 is murdering this Escalade R.I.P. Cadillac.
It looks like a luxurious truck

How many kidneys do I need to sell in order to buy this?

龐然大物~
that price tags enough to put anyone in the poor house for life unless you make bookoo bucks per year
hopelessly American? ...really?

Many will take a Toyota land cruiser over this anytime any day !

2010 DTX is still better.
