Sorry to hear about the oil leak issues. Glad you got them fixed. The swing out tire rack is awesome! And it looks great with the fifth tire. Now you need an Extreme Daily Drivers tire cover.
Thanks! I really like the swing out. I should have mentioned in the video how terrible the original tire location is and that it was the original wheel and tire size. Not really helpful if you get a flat! Thanks for watching!
Nice Mod for holding the spare tire! I did not want to limit my access and visibility in the rear, so I measured under the rear and found that the largest size tire that would fit under the rear was 265/65R/17. I now have that size AT tires on my commander now,
Thanks for posting all of your Commander build videos! This week I finally finished my bumper chop and window pillar black out. I only did the back pillars, did not like the full length look I blacked out with Plasti-Dip and then covered the pillar faces with high gloss black Lexan! You have been a great help in motivating me to get my mods done.
Heck yeah, so glad the videos are helping. The Commander is such a weird vehicle. I have actually undone a lot of stuff that I have "modified" because it's just not working for me on this rig. That rarely happens to me, but unlike so many of my other builds, there hasn't been a lot of inspiration for the XK. Not many people build cool ones. Sure some are cool, but they are almost always the same; Wrangler Take-off wheels, 2 inch spacer lift and if they are really "crazy" they will throw on some WAM bumpers. That's cool and all, but it's been done a thousand times. I always try to do something different and I have been finding myself getting inspired by 4runners and GX470s and the like. What works on those rigs unfortunately don't always translate to ours. Thanks for watching and good luck with the XK.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers You got that right about so many Commander owners doing the same things as they see on the forum and not thinking outside the box. In my case I wanted to improve my front suspension ride and do a leveling lift at the same time. A 2" spacer lift would not aid my ride, so I thought about it and used a little knowledge from working on race cars and I got my desired results by installing coil spring rubbers and 1" rubber blocks. Killed 2 birds with one stone and the cost was very low! Now no ugly front rake and rides great on washboard roads.
I like whatcha did there I’ve had an idea of making the commander into a camper Basically throwing a mattress over all the folded seats making it a level platform and adding a small window unit to a window with a wood cut out . . . Maybe even the back glass
It's awesome. Expensive, but awesome. Between the Ultraswing and the 23Zero awning they are without a doubt the nicest products I have purchased for the Commander. Definitely my two favorites too. Thanks for watching.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I bet lol but, hey one part at a time and I love driving mine but, my woman takes it over thru the week haha luckily we have two cars and once her SUV gets out the shop I'm going all in on mine only thing I've done is put 20s on it,thinking going maybe 24s with an off road look and level it out because, I HATE the way it slopes down in front
Dude sucks about the seal mixup, I did it a long time ago on my Accord and it sucked! The spare looks good, I really like that it's so close to the rear bumper and not a foot out like some cars, yes Subaru Crosstrek's!! The only thing I don't like is that it covers the Danzig plate and GD would not like that and he's the wrong guy to piss off! I was in a gnarly mosh pit with him years ago and even at five feet tall he was throwing people all over, like a tasmanian devil!
I called Glenn and told him about the laws about running a Danzig plate instead of a legal plate and although he still thinks it's a weak move he would allow it. 😂 Thanks for watching JC!
Been wondering where u were. Sucks u did all that work for just an pan gasket. Arm looks sick. Nice job. Only a 1 or 2 more vids to come? NO! You have done an amazing, inspiring, job on the Commander. Another bumper cut!! Awesome!! btw, Danzig is from Massachusetts. Be well!
Ha! Danzig is from NJ! He is a national treasure! I should know, I'm also from NJ! Aerosmith is from MA. And that's why they suck! Lol. Yep, the Commander build is coming to an end and so is the XDD channel. Only a couple more and I'm retiring! Thanks for watching.
Great question and the answer is "no." I don't ever plan on doing anything that aggressive. If you check some of RIGd's UA-cam videos you'll see that these tire carriers do very well on more aggressive vehicles. So maybe on the next vehicle we'll put that departure angle more to the test. Thanks for watching.
Was this the Multi-Fit or the Mega-Fit? I tried to do their test, but it doesn't list the commander. I have a 2006 Commander 5.7 Limited. I'm trying to get it outfitted for family camping. I LOVE your videos! Maybe you could make a video with recommendations for mods that you personally don't want, but could be good for other purposes like camping? Anyway, thanks for the help!
It's the Multi-fit. I reached out to Rig'd before I purchased to ensure it would fit. I have two camping videos coming in about three weeks. I can't wait to go camping and make the videos. Thanks for watching.
How difficult was it to do the oil pan gasket? I need to do the same on my '09 Grand Cherokee 5.7 that's been dripping for 2.5 years... Thankfully there is a little inspection cover plate on the front of the transmission that I removed to find a dry main seal. The tire carrier looks good! I've thought if I needed a larger spare I'd strongly consider the HK offroad Kratos but it doesn't look like that is an option for the XK.
I looked at HK Offroad, and yeah it won't fit. The oil pan gasket was horrible, even with the transmission removed. The diff and front axle are in the way the whole time. Not much you can do about it. We removed two bolts holding the diff in place, which helped, but there still isn't a lot of room. It's doable at home, but it's going to be terrible. Prepare yourself. Thanks for watching.
Man I was waiting for a video for the longest time!! Awsome Video glad your still at it! question however, what does your mileage look like? I get 12.3 MPG
Meh, it has taken 5 years. I wouldn't call that "blowing up." With that being said, this channel has exceeded my expectations in every way and I'm very proud of what we've been able to accomplish and the amazing support from people like you. Thanks for watching.

When are you going to build the engine? 🤔
You then heads and combustion chambers need a good port and flow upgrade

Don't feel sorry for me. I only fill up once a month.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I don’t believe you💀 but assuming that’s not your daily is it?
@@Michael_San_240 Why would I lie? It's my daily, keep in mind we have four cars, but I drive it every day I just don't go far.
How’s your parking assist sensors fairing with that on there?

On the RigD website they don't have an option for the commander, did you pick a different option?
They don't have it on their website. I emailed them and they asked me some questions and said it would fit. It fits perfectly.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers which style did the say to go with? For which make and model?
This a year old vid. You still have the commander?
Check out my latest videos for the answer.
Thanks i was gifted a 2006 commander with 4.7 and love it. Now im going to fix up my 98 gmc k2500.
Brandon is this the short fit or multi fit?
It's the Ultra Swing.
How many miles are on your commander? I have a 07 with the 4.7 with 191k should I worried about anything???
Your car is 17 years old. Yes, you should worry about it. 😂
