I've had the 87 tune on my 08 Hemi Commander for like three years now, works great. I manually adjusted the shift points and it never hunts for gears etc. Really wakes up the Jeep, I agree with you that it's definitely worth the money.
That's awesome. Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm going to stick with this 91 Tune for a couple of months and then I'll give the 87 a try. I want to see if I notice a difference. What changes did you make to the shift points? Did you change it for each gear or just 1 and 2 or just 3 and 4?
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I set it up quite awhile go so I don’t remember exactly what I did, but i know I edited all the shift points for every gear (except 5).
Thanks man, love the channel. Got my oldest boy his first vehicle. I wanted a Commander from day one, built like a tank to protect him and V8, I know like the back of my hand. Found this 08, cherry Limited, one owner, that must of never left the guys garage. I swear, if you sat in it, you would have no clue it was 15 'years old. The wife was like, you do realize you're having more fun then him? Think I was installing a Alpine iLX-F09, that day. That we pretty dam oblivious. The kids, into sports, no interest in cars, zero! I don't get it? If he wasn't the spitting image of me, I'd bet the farm he was the pool man's. Got my first Hemi in 82, same age as him, 16. It was a ragged out, 72 Challenger but a rock solid 426ci (7-L) Hemi. I was hooked. The sound from a V8, just never leaves you. I was a junky! Now just shy of 56, dang where does time go? Keep up the good work, I really enjoy your content. Kudo's.
Just bought an 07 Commander with the 4.7, looks just like yours did. Just over 120,000 miles for $8078. Older couple owned it since it was new and barely drive it over the years, always garage kept, no dents, scratches, dings or rust at all and ALL maintenance records are available if I want them. They just traded it in at the dealership a couple days ago to get a new jeep compass. I can't wait to start doing mods to it
The Hypertech 52501 does work for the 3.7L V6, I've had their 87 tune installed on my V6 WK for almost 100k miles now without any issues. It still isn't that quick but it keeps up with traffic and gets decent fuel economy. I mostly used it to adjust tire size and correct the shift points.
I'd love to hear more about how you adjusted the shift patterns. Did you do it for all of the gears? How did you know where to start the adjustment? Thanks for watching.
Just subbed and so thankful i found your channel i love japanese cars they are my first love and i still have my rx8 and toyota chaser but i have kiddos and dogs as well needed a bigger daily and a shtf vehicle getting mine on wednesday your videos have me like a little kid just counting the days man lol much love from Fort Bliss Texas
I have always been happy with the power of my 4.7L. Only 111K miles, maybe it will diminish as it gets older. Did you ever test the option for better gas mileage? Curious what the impact would be. Driving 70 to 80 miles a day at 14 mpg is costly.
Just curious, which V8 do you have? 4.7 or 5.7? I ask because I have the 5.7 and it has more than plenty of power, even for the weight. BTW, I have a Bullydog programmer. Love it, just like you like the Superchips.

I wish I could take mine off-road. It's got the v8, and camping after off-roading sounds so fun , but it's only 2WD. Great video. I love your Jeep!
Thanks! 👍

Heck yeah! Thanks for supporting the channel.
Nice job! Unfortunately, I have the V6. Although it's kinda the engine, it's primarily the driver behind the wheel. Be well. Ty
Sorry to hear that. About your engine I mean. Lol. Thanks for watching.

I never did test the MPG tune because MPG is not important to me. Thanks for watching.
Great video man, love all your videos!!now get some under glow rock lights -_- !!!!!!!
Maybe one day! I have to get on some rocks first! Thanks for the support and thanks for watching.

He has the 4.7
@@alphaa1xgene Ahhh... now I understand. Thanks for the reply.
I have the 4.7. I now have 30 Commander videos!! Make sure you sub so you never miss a video! Thanks for watching!
Trans tune will only mess up at 500 hp plus -and that’s if it’s being raced a lot on slicks - tune the trans !! Trust me
Thanks for the confidence! So far I have been very happy with the 93 Octane tune, which also updates the shift points. Thanks for watching.
i get 15-17mpg in my 4.7 limited i’ve got up to 21mpg too
That's great!
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers my starter went out but i got a new one just never put it on so my jeep has been sitting got a while lol
@@landen_576 Take the front driver's wheel off and get a bunch of extensions. It's not easy, but you can do it.
Which CB did you install?
It's a President Andy II. I did a video on the install. Just search the channel. Thanks for watching.
