This thing is $1600 right now. I remember being $900 just last year. Don’t tell me they had to increase the price almost 100% due to inflation. Companies like this are garbage
I don’t know the specifics of this company, but I do know of another overland product company that took on a new investor, bought a lot of very expensive equipment and raised their prices.

1 - I sure hope no one got bit by that hissing snake :D 2 - Back when I was 18, my 4Runner used to shake like that all the time side to side :D I'm 46 now and I'd rather watch 4Runner/camping/overlanding videos on YT - it's cheaper in the long run and you get to keep more of your stuff. 3 - I have one of these for my 1999 Lexus LX470 - very stout, but I wish mine "tucked" in a couple inches closer to the bumper. 4 - Install is easy until you start wiring for the license plate re locate. I ended up cutting my aux. trailer plug and locating the hot/ground by trial and error for the lights.(could not locate a pin diagram) I ordered the ones on Amazon rec. by RIGD. Keep in mind this is a diff. vehicle than the new 4Runner they used in their install video. I did not want to tap into my rear tail lights because I have a tail gate and didn't want those wires in the way. Overall, my version is pretty clean, you don't really see the wires since I used the snake skin sheathing for my wires.

I don't think the Law likes it that the tire blocks the License Plate. Curt makes a Tow Hitch license plate holder. Could go on the bottom "hitch" a bike rack on the top hitch. 👍

Is there any way to get the carrier a little closer to the bumper? Was there still one more hole you could have aligned to? It seemed like the carrier was sticking out of the hit about 3” - thanks great vid

Very true. The only downside would be that a homemade one would send you to jail if it was to fail while towing. From their website, it's officially rated at 10k lbs I believe, assuming the liability for you in case of accidents. The traffic police would have a ball here with you if they pulled you over while towing a trailer with no official weight capacity stamped on it.

Yeah at that point just put in an extra 1k and get a high clearance bumper.

I love this system. What I don’t like are some of the products you can buy; I should say the cost. Ie- the bicycle rack extension, $100.

You have to relocate the rear camera and that means running a wiring harness to the head unit.
