There is nothing at all wrong with you Doug...
You do Projects like this because you have a VERY strong sense of Self Preservation and REALLY don't want to Piss Off the Missus when she has MANY miscellaneous long, sharp pointy things (knives, forks, knitting needles etc.) and/or LOTS of heavy Blunt Objects (hammers, rolling pins, frying pans etc.) in easy reach in fear she'll introduce those Implements of Devastation to various parts of your body...
After all, when the Wife tells you to build something, the ONLY acceptable response is:

Very cool, that charcoal really made the piece outstanding. You are going to be finding charcoal dust in the shop for the rest of your days though 😄 Really like the face plate block setup -- that looks very useful. I've been tapped to make a couple of yarn bowls so I am anticipating the same pain you felt in having to make those cuts into that bowl. 😫 Your bowl turned out great.

A great yarn bowl! I do a lot knitting and crocheting and have pondered about some kind of container for my yarn while working. Having cats around yarn isn’t the best combo 😂 But to save the yarn from the cats I would need a lid on the bowl/container.
I am sure you could make yarn containers to sell. All knitting people talk about how to keep the yarn in one place while working on it. And I know tons of knitters who have cats as well. You just don’t want to wake up in the morning to find your living room looking like a spider web from your cats having fun with the yarn all night long 😹

I must say when you started cutting and drilling holes in that bowl I was nervous, but you pulled it out, brother very cool. I’m glad to see your turning again. As I knitter, I would have put at least a dozen coats if not epoxy. Given the nature of the yarn bowl, the natural fibers will eventually wear away the lacquer and the yarn will be exposed to the burnt wood.
Very nice yarn bowl didn't think I would like the color when you started but I was wrong. Welcome back to reality.
Absolutely love the bottom of that bowl! I honestly prefer that live edge, natural style than if you had been able to keep it from floating. Was very glad to see you kept it! While a shame to cut into that bowl, it was made for a specific purpose so completely made sense, as hard as it was to watch.

Very nice Doug. Did the carbon blunten your tools and bandsaw blade? I know it can blunten a chainsaw blade pretty quickly.

Do you think inkjet printer ink can be used to color resin, or is it too much water in it?. I realize you may not know anything about ink.
