doug that is BEAUTIFUL MY FRIEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You Larry
Hey, Doug! Your platter edge design turned out pretty cool, whether planned or not. 😊
Thank You Juliet
That is some pretty grain on that wood. Nature’s masterpiece
Thank You
What a great combination of color and design! It looks vaguely Celtic or Norse, and I think the dark bits give the resin color more flavor and make it look a bit antique- like oxidized bloodstone or copper.
Thank You Mary Ellen
Nice piece, Doug!
Many thanks Clayton!
It is cool the way the black fades into the green. Nice to see a turning! You are always your worst critic, Doug. Have a great weekend.
Thank you Jane
❤glad to see you back, I missed watching you do your magic with the wood. God bless you
Thank you Thank you
💚💚💚💚💚Green!💚💚💚💚💚

Doug, all I can say is WOW. You make it look so darn easy and smooth even before sanding. I keep getting tear out and rough edges. GREAT Job sir.
You can do it Steve!
HEYYYYYY! DOUG'S BACK! HI DOUG!
Thank You Trish
YAY! 🙌. That sure was a purdy chunk of wood. I like it! ❤
Thank You Jeanette
Its good to see you back, even if only for this video. This project its beautiful! I love the green and the 'shading' of where you got deeper into the etching is pretty but, WOW that walnut is GORGEOUS! Thanks, Doug! I hope we see you again very soon!❤
Thank you so much Texana!
Welcome back Doug. Great project. Keep them coming!
Thank you David, I'll do my best
The platter looks awesome Doug, glad to see you back turning again... Also very glad to see that your health is a lot better ...
Thank you Skip
Great to see you back in the shop, Doug. I'll agree the rim could be different but the burning did make a great blend from black to green. I hope you're doing well and we see more of you.
Thank you Jay
Sometimes it’s just good to not do anything so your mind can come back into its artistic mode. Good job my friend. 🇺🇸👍
dido
Greetings Doug, beautiful piece of work mate, well done. Keep smiling.

Welcome back Doug, I missed your vids. Good to see you back in the shop. I also find your preparations before the actual turning very sensible since they add to the sustainability of a project by saving time and material. I always lobe and like your vids - especially with that beautiful walnut... my special moment is always the shattoyance of any wood.
Thank You Stephanie
Great Job Doug, especially overcoming the difficulties you encountered. I love some Black Walnut

@@PohlBarnProductions you’re very welcome Doug
@@PoohBah your name is funny...didn't Deloris Claiborne use the phrase, 'from poo bah at upper butt crack'? I looked it up: 'The actual quote is “Now you listen here, Mr. Grand High Poobah of UPPER BUTT CRACK ...' One of my favorite STEPHEN KING book's and movie (which, by the way, the ends were totally different)
Beautiful platter Doug! I really like how it fades from green to black. Great job! Thanks and take care.
Thank You Thank You
Absolutely beautiful as always, Doug. Very nice! Keep up the good work!

Thank you Val
That turned out really pretty, Doug! Walnut is always pretty. And the contrasting fade in the inlay looks really cool!
Thank You Billy,
Good color combo. That turned out super sweet! And just think how boring things would be if things always went smooth. At least that’s what I always tell myself.
Thank You Ron
Beautiful walnut platter, Doug. The inlay looks good, but that grain flash though 🤩🤩🤩.
Thank You Rob, RIGHT !!!
Good to see you in shop again. Have a great weekend ✌️

Hey buddy. Hope your trip was a good one. This is a magnificent piece. I didn’t think I was going to like the bright green, but with it fading to black it looks great! I may have said it before but it is hard to beat the beautiful of black walnut. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a piece that I didn’t love. You did a fabulous job with it.
Thank you Doug

Looks incredible ❤ It’s amazing what these laser cutters can do nowadays
Thank You Ratchel
Nice stuff Doug.. Keep going.. More ideas will fall out. ☺️👍

Brother that turned out awesome with the 3 day inlay! Walnut is my favorite wood to make things with, not turning of course!
Thank You Jim, 3 day setting was my fault, one simple setting would have changed that,
Nice work, that grain change on the backk was pretty cool
Thank You Thank You

Thank You Thank You
Beautiful platter. I always look forward to getting to watch your process. I need to get my hands on some walnut someday.
Thank You Greg
That is a nice-looking dish. You achieved a really nice shape. I like the gradian of the green going to dark as it heads down into the dish. It was nice to see you ack at the lathe.
It would have been nice to have been able to meet up with you while you were down here in Florida. Maybe, if/when I make it to Michigan to visit my daughter, we can meet then.
Thank You Qapla, Florida was limited time, to much going on, in such a short time frame to do much else, let me know I am 30 minutes south of Lansing
looks good ! 👍
Thank you Rick! Cheers!

That looks Awesome, Brother! I hope you had a nice time in Florida.
Thank You STeve ! I sure did !!!!
Look great love the walnut
Thank You Jim
Beautiful work as usual!
Thank you so much Dale😀
Hey brother nice job boys and there toys I love it great job
Thank You Art !
That walnut figure and grain are awesome. Really like where you were going with the inlay -- the laser worked on the thicker wood much better than the pieces I've tried that were much thinner -- too much energy from the laser doing the inlay caused the wood to warp like a potato chip -- yours was much better behaved despite the time it took to burn out the wood for the inlay. Really like the design and inlay on the top -- it complements the walnut.
Thank You Mark, yeah I'd planned on buring it deep and turning after the resin pour, more passes at a colder temp might help you better
As Bob Ross would say, a happy little accident. It turned out great, what a beautiful piece of wood.
Thank You Thank You
Beautiful
Thank you Thank you
Turned out great!
Thank You Katherine
It's really a very innovative pattern, even if by mistake & l love that walnut, stunning wood & the angles u use ur gouge to create, is fascinating watching, love it ❤
Thank You Karen
Beautiful❤
Thank you Janis! 😊
Nice work!!!
Thank you Mark! Cheers!
Good to see ya Doug!! Believe it or not I miss you!! Definitely NO thumbs down! Florida??!! It doesn't look like you melted or drowned or let sharks nibble on ya, so it must have been a good time!!? Did you check in on Kim while you were down that way? I haven't seen her in ages either! I am so close to pulling the trigger on a lazer, but I know as soon as I do, it's not going to be big enough or powerful enough, blah, blah, blah!! So are we getting another video next week?! Thanks for sharing!!
Thank You Joe, welll I was in the Gulf a couple differnt places and only found sharks teeth, Venice Beach and Ft, Myers, and boy was it different from that last time I was there, Ian really relocated things, flew right over her by a couple hours so no I did not visit her, I think they are coming out with an affordable Co2 laser, I've been asked to review one already but passed it up, maybe wait on a couple of those, you can do so much more with Co2, I am working on it, I have a plan to make another bowl but making me go out and work on it is the issue,
@@PohlBarnProductions I hear you on going out and working on it! It's hot
@@PohlBarnProductions I have heard awesome things about the CO2 lazer.
Hi Dougggggg
Hi Robinnnnnnnnnn
you could make clocks using that process
that's not a bad Idea, Thank You Rob
Walnut is such a beautiful wood. The dark to light fade adds a nice touch to the platter. Great job as usual! If I may ask, what angle to you sharpen your tools to?
Thank you Eric, I think it's a 45° angle but don't hold me to it
@@PohlBarnProductions Thank you!
Damn fine piece, even though it didn't work how you wanted.
Thank you Thank you
Where did you go in FL? Did you stop by and see Kim?
I went to Punta Gorda, 2 or so hours south of Kim and no I did not stop by to see her
